VERA is ready to play! She's a stunning young brindle mixed breed girl, our best guess is an Australian Cattle Dog mix. She's around 1 year old and fully grown at 33 pounds. She loves to run and play in the yard with her doggie pals. Every morning she hits the ground running, doing Daytona 500-style zoomies in the yard. Vera has struck up a special relationship with her foster sister based on a mutual love of playing bitey face and tug-of-war. Vera was painfully shy when she arrived at the rescue but she's blossomed in her foster home. She's still on the timid side in new situations and when meeting new people and needs the companionship of a confident playful dog who matches her in size and energy level. Vera needs a home with a physically-fenced yard suitable for high speed zoomies. She's housebroken and crate trained. If you'd like to meet Vera, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Vera at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. She's very timid during adoption events, but please don't let that deter you, all she needs is a little patience. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. We can't blame her, feeding ALL of us ALL THE TIME can become onerous, ESPECIALLY with our sharp puppy teeth! However, we promise not to harass our new families with our shark teeth :) So here we are, waiting..... looking for nice families who want to make us their own. We have such cute and fun personalities! We are good with everyone we meet and promise you too :) Look at our SUPER CUTE faces, how can you resist??
