Story
Whisper is just the sweetest spotted lady around. She is great with other dogs, both large and small, a mature lady of 40 lbs, 6-8 years old, still full of energy, but past all the puppy behavior. No household accidents, chewing, or whining. She is content to spend the afternoon playing in the yard, chilling in her crate (door open or closed), or snuggling up to you on the couch. She is good with either a dog door or with asking to be let out. She loves to play with other dogs, not so much with toys. She loves treats and loves to eat but is not food aggressive. She’s learning to leave her foster sister’s dish alone. On a leash, she is learning not to pull. Due to her history, she does get nervous around roads, but she loves to ride in the car!  Give Whisper a little attention, and she’s wiggling all over the place. She does not jump up and does not get on the furniture. She has been trained to sit, but it’s so hard to sit when someone is loving on you! In person she looks like an Aussie, the vet put blue heeler and we’ve had apps and friends say setter mix. So who really knows?? And who cares; she’s a good girl either way! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   April 23, 2024, 10:04 pm

Likes: Treats Squeaky toys Snuffaries Enrichment activities Fetch Playing with other dogs Dislikes: Seeing other dogs while on a leash Strangers in his home without his people present Noisy living spaces Sharing a home with another dog Laszlo is a 2.5yo labradoodle/blue heeler. He is a very sweet and loyal boy. He does, however, have his quirks. He has resource guarding tendencies and can be very leash reactive. I believe Laszlo would do best in a single dog home, with a big yard/land to run around in. I also believe he would do best in a kid free/older kid home due to his excitability. A big plus for Laszlo would be the ability to live and run around on farm, due to being half cattle dog.❤️😊

Story
Hi, Name is Chip! I'm the type of dog that is gonna take time to get to know. I'm mostly scared and confused in being here. I'm not happy in my kennel so I do bark at you. You have to bribe me with hotdogs to get me to trust you. Once I get out on leash I'm fine but it still takes time for me to adjust. We don't know much about chip but to greet with other dogs is a must and to be tested around cats. I would say no to kids. Any additional information about me please ask the people in the office. To adopt one of our animals, please visit our shelter, open Tuesday-Friday from Noon-6pm and Saturday from Noon-4pm. You may also submit an application online from our website at http://www.HelpTheAnimalsINC.com/adopt.

Story
Paging Dr. Doofensmertz. This handsome guy has become something of a celebrity around town with fans often stopping and calling him by name. Being that he is such a friendly and personable fella, he is always more than happy to stop and greet his adoring fans. Doofensmertz is particularly eager to meet other dogs and small children and may act himself silly trying to get their attention. Despite his fascination with them, his larger than life personality and belief that they all want to immediately wrestle with all 45-50 pounds of him and that can be overwhelming for smaller or more timid dogs and children. Doofensmertz also desperately wants to play with every living creature including cats or other small animals, however, they really do not prefer his go-to game of chase. Therefore, a home with smaller animals and/or children may not be the best fit for him. Doofensmertz loves to go on walks and does fairly well on the leash. He can struggle to remember not to pull when he sees someone or something that he wants to meet. He does sit nicely when asked before crossing the street. He is also fully house trained. This incredibly social guy absolutely loves to be where the family is which is why his crate is not his favorite place. He does not protest when he has to go in (unless you count his sad puppy-dog eyes) and he does sleep in it throughout the night without a peep. In addition to his incredible good looks, Doofensmertz is very intelligent 3 year old and enjoys some mental stimulation to keep his busy brain engaged and out of trouble. With that intelligence though comes the opportunity for him to learn some fun tricks with the perfect someone who is willing to put the time into the training. If Doofensmertz seems like the right fit for you, please go to www.pawpatroldayton.com/adopt. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. Adoption fee is $260.00. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted.
