Story
Rugby is a sweet and intelligent Red Heeler. We received him at 3 years old from a friend that moved and had a baby and could not care for Rugby. He loves to snuggle under your chin, and he love being close and comfy. When we received him he had never been on a leash or played with other dogs. His best friend is our moms dog, and Rugby and her play wonderful together. He is now 7 years old. We have a new grandbaby, and he has been over protected with him. Now that he is a toddler, he has shown aggressiveness with him by pushing him, snapping at him, and scratching him. We have decided that Rugby would be best with someone without small children. He also is aggressive with male dogs. He loves to go camping and hiking, but is protective at the campsite (much like most dogs are). We are hoping that a family with older kids or adults would want to love on him. He absolutely loves to go on walks, and is leash trained now. He is a great dog. Sweet. And would be a great companion.

🌲🦝 Backyard Wildlife Litter Has Been Spotted! 🦨🌲No need to set up trail cams… these “wild animals” walked right into our shelter and are now accepting applications for cozy couches and snack providers. 😌🐾✨ Meet who's left of the crew:🐾 Possum🦡 BadgerDon’t worry—these woodland “creatures” are WAY cuter, much more cuddly, and only slightly suspicious when it comes to snacks. They probably won’t steal your chicken eggs… and okay, they might sample the cat food once or twice… but at least no one’s spraying anything when startled. 😂🐶 Their origin story:Mom is a small reddish/brown mixed pup—giving terrier / Miniature Pinscher vibes—and dad is a handsome black & white Australian Cattle Dog / Pitbull mix around 40 lbs.💥 What did they create? Absolute chaos. And we mean that in the best way. These babies are:💙 Blue-eyed🖤 Speckled blue & black👂 Some ears up, some ears down🐾 Some look like tiny pitties, others like… suspiciously adorable red pandas??Basically, it’s a build-your-own-adventure litter and every option is ridiculously cute.Raised with children, good with other dogs, and likely to be good with cats with proper training. 🎉 At 8 weeks old, they’re ready to head off into the wild (your living room)!🩺 Wildlife Wellness Check:✔️ First vaccines✔️ Flea & tick treated✔️ Dewormed✔️ Will be spayed/neutered & microchipped upon adoption⚠️ Warning: May cause excessive smiling, spontaneous baby talk, and a sudden urge to cancel plans and stay home forever.🏡 Adopt your favorite “wild animal” today… before they form a tiny forest gang and take over. 🌳🐾Badger's adoption fee is $250.He can only leave on a foster-to-adopt until he is neutered on May 1. You will be required to bring him back for his neuter before you can fully adopt him on May 2. Story
RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Pancake.  She is a young girl who is very smart and is very eager to learn.  Pancake is a Heeler mix who is a big love bug.  She is currently in the DASH Prison program where she is learning basic commands and perfecting her manners to be the best pup for her future family.  Pancake is house trained, does well in a crate, loves everyone, gets along well with other dogs, and walks great on a leash.  She is currently working on being comfortable on crowds of people so her future adopter will need to continue making her feel comfortable.  Due to Pancake’s current foster placement she has not been introduced to cats or children of any age so both would need proper introductions.  Please apply today to give Pancake her a fur-ever home!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 8:40 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Sweet Luna came to our rescue over 2 years ago with her puppies. She was an incredible momma. All of her pups have since been adopted but she is still patiently waiting on someone to call her their girl. When this sweet, loving girl came to DASH she was fearful and shy with little confidence. She came a long way while a part of our DASH Prison Training Program where she learned all of her basic commands and worked on her socialization and fearfulness. She is now in a foster home where she's blossomed even more. She loves to take car rides and go on adventures and loves her walks. She is highly intelligent, affectionate and loyal. She loves everyone she has met as her foster parents have frequent guests over. She has been around older children and loves to play with them. She has not been around small kids or babies. She's a great dog who just needs a chance with a family that has time for her. Luna is not cat-friendly, but she loves other dogs and even allows the foster home's new 9 lb puppy to play, groom and climb all over her. She is also crate trained and housebroken. She is almost just the perfect all around dog for any family or person who is ready to give her the time and love she deserves along with some great adventures. Rescue Luna and she'll rescue you.
