Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Not good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Cache is a wonderful boy who LOVES to snuggle, is wicked smart, and delights in taking long hikes and adventures. Cache has been trained well, knows many commands, kennel trained and is fully potty trained. Cache will be 5 this November and has been with me since he was 7 months old. The issue? Cache was attacked by a dog about 2 years ago out on hike and has since escalated to attacking other dogs in the home. Dogs he grew up with and loved. On a leash, he is not really reactive, but the moment he has to share space with another dog inside he quickly starts lashing out and attacking without remorse. I have taken him to training classes, tried thunder coats, and even some meds to keep him calm. The issue has only escalated despite all efforts. Cache would do AMAZING in a household with an active person or family with no other dogs. Cache lives with cats and has no issues with them at all, is even a little scared of them at times when they try to play with him.

He loves staying busy and thrives when he has a job to do, whether that’s going for long hikes, mastering new tricks, playing fetch, or showing off his impressive focus.

Story
Meet Rowdy, the professional snuggler with a heart of gold and a personality that’s 100% "goofball." If you’re looking for a dog who views personal space as a mere suggestion and wants to be your permanent shadow, Rowdy is your man! Rowdy is a world-class cuddler who will melt right into your arms for belly rubs the moment you sit down. He is incredibly friendly and has never met a stranger he didn't like. Whether he's doing zoomies in the yard or making you laugh with his silly antics, he is a constant source of joy. He’s also a dream in the car—just give him a window seat and he’s happy to chill! Rowdy is a "sensitive soul" who thrives on companionship. Because he loves humans so much, he’s still learning how to be brave when he’s alone. Here’s what his forever family should know: Rowdy is very "touch-oriented." He’s working on his "four on the floor" manners, but his jumping just comes from a place of pure love and a desire for pets. He gets along great with other dogs, though he’s still learning about "personal bubbles." He’s looking for a patient sibling who doesn't mind a brother with high energy and zero concept of boundaries! Rowdy finds big crates and long workdays a bit stressful. He’d do best in a home where people are around often. He’s a total champ in his crate overnight as long as he’s in the room with you! He loves a good yard to run laps in! While he’s still learning that mud (and other smelly things) aren't meant for rolling in, he’s always up for an adventure. Busy roads are a bit spooky for him right now. He’d prefer quiet neighborhood strolls while he builds up his confidence. Just a heads-up—Rowdy isn't a fan of hoodies! He prefers to see your beautiful face, so he might give a little growl of protest if your hood is up! Rowdy would thrive with a family that has a flexible schedule or works from home. Since he isn't motivated by treats (he’s a "praise and pets" kind of guy!), he needs a patient owner who can continue his potty training and basic commands through positive reinforcement. He’s a loyal, sweet, and hilariously clumsy companion who just wants to belong. Are you ready for a lifetime of goofy grins and endless snuggles? Apply to adopt today at www.pawpatroldaytom.com/adopt. Rowdy is approximately 1 year old and thought to be an Australian cattle dog mix. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $285. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted.

Story
I'm a 7-month-old pup with a big heart and a gentle soul. When I first got to the shelter I was pretty shy, but my foster family really helped me come out of my shell! I love having dog friends and could play with them all day-chasing, wrestling, and just being a goofy pup. I'm playful and super loving once I feel comfortable, but I can be a little shy at first. Give me a bit of patience and some kindness, and I'll be your loyal shadow and best buddy.

A year ago I was found in a box with no mom in sight and sent to a Texas shelter. Speak for the Unspoken broke me out of doggy jail and brought me to Ohio. My short young life had been extremely hard so when I arrived at my foster home I was terrified of everything and almost completely shut down. Over time and with lots of patience my foster family gained my trust and showed me that life isn’t so scary. My furry foster siblings also gave me confidence to be brave and explore. My foster Mom is extremely proud of all the progress I’ve made over the last year. She says I’m ready to find my forever family to keep building the confidence and trust I need to fulfill my full potential. So let me tell you all about me! Today I am a happy bouncy dog that LOVES to play. Toys are the best. I enjoy tugging on a rope, chasing balls, destroying any stuffy in site, oh…..and my new favorite trying to catch a frisbee. Being chased by my foster siblings with a toy in my mouth is always a bonus. Playing “keep away” is fun. After playing I enjoy curling up on a soft pillow or couch to rest. I also love sleeping next to someone in bed at night. That way I know I’m not alone. If you need an assistant in the kitchen I’m here to help. Picking up dropped food is my specialty . I especially like carrots and cheese. It’s a good way to build my trust. My forever family will need to have patience and an understanding that it will take time for me to trust. Another dog with my energy level in the home is best to help me navigate my new situation. Plus, I really don’t care for cats and am very focused on catching small animals. So a dog only home is required. New situations are still scary for me. So a fence is a must, to keep me safe.I promise if you have the time and patience I will show you the bouncy, happy, silly and loyal boy that I truly am. I am neutered and up to date on all my vaccinations.
