Story
This handsome boy is called Cooper and he is a young one year, 55 pound male Australian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix who is gorgeous and goofy all rolled in to one big personality.  This boy was formerly owned by a person who let him run loose (unsafe) and he was getting in to trouble on neighbors properties as he hung out at the chicken coop and he got in to trash cans just for fun.  Cooper just wanted to have something to do!  A job ya know?  He is such a loving boy and he really is good with other dogs and adores people.  He is not cat tested but can be if needed. As you can see he needs a little spiffing up with some groomer which will happen soon.  He is a deep rich mahogany color and has the softest, long wavy fur that just makes you want to sit and pet him for a while. Cooper with all his energy and desire to do things fun, needs a fenced yard and maybe just maybe you could offer him kids and another dog to occupy hours of fun and playtime.  He is smart as he is handsome.  Learning leash manners and he is willing to obey if you do the practice every day for a while.  This boy loves life and you will love Cooper.  If interested please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
This is Blue Eyed Lola and she came to our rescue as a very starved nursing momma dog with 6 puppies draining her daily while nursing.  She had been a stray with no food provided for her as she tried to keep her babies alive.  She has now put back on her weight and a tad more than needed but she is safe and loved and trying to find her new family to love.  She is a timid but extremely calm girl that is an Aussie mix with the prettiest blue eyes.  She just wants to belong to someone and her foster mom is so touched by her sweet soul and how she tries to almost be invisible in life and not be a problem.  She needs some confidence building and some training that will make her feel smart!  She is good with other dogs and very submissive to them.  She is just fine with cats and almost completely housebroken.  We love our little Blue Eyed Lola and want the rest of her life to be easy and for her to a treasured part of someone’s family or even a single person’s BFF.  She is great on a leash and rides very well in a car.  She is ready to explore life with someone that wants her to come along.  Lola will be forever grateful to have a chance to love you.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  Let us know where you live:  city and state. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 18, 2025, 10:17 pm

Story
We call this most handsome Blue Merle Aussie boy, Ollie-with-a-Twist….Ollie for short.  A year ago we found out about this special boy who had been sitting in a very small, dark and not so clean shelter in Middle Tennessee.  He cowered in the corner with some of the other dogs who tragically had been living with a hoarder who neglected and emotionally abused the dogs.  Ollie is just scared.  He is not aggressive and over the past year since he came to live with our special foster mom, Amy, he has finally learned to trust and to ask for pets and a few close snuggles on the sofa.  These simple moments of affection I think we all take for granted from our dogs.  But for some dogs like Ollie, the human touch is terrifying.  It takes so much love and patience to wait them out till they find the trust.  The trust has come for Ollie and his foster mom, Amy, feels that he is ready to take the cautious step to go to a home where he can trust and love someone forever.  Someone with the same determination to give Ollie the chance to be snuggly and ask for attention as he finally has done with his foster mom.  It won’t take so long.  He now knows that he can trust a person and will quickly learn to trust a new, kind soul that wants him to be their treasure.  He is 2 years old and weighs 35 pounds tops.  We know he is not the normal, happy go lucky boy, but he is special and will help you with your resolve to give him your unconditional love and time to come around.  He must have a fenced yard and we think it best for him to have another dog in the family that is grounded and self-assured and a mentor to lead the way for him to be more trusting.  Examples are important for shy dogs.  Perhaps it can be a family affair.  Older children, or an empty nesting couple or a single person that is home a lot.  All sorts of environments can work but we will know quickly if yours can be considered.  What is most important is your heart to help him find his forever home in your heart.  He is housebroken but a doggie door is best for him to use if you can provide that, totally crate trained and such a good boy.  Just a tragic early life that is slowly melting away from his memory.  If you are interested in Ollie-with-a-Twist please write to us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  We will welcome a dialogue and details freely given to all your questions. He is crated at night and whenever I leave the house for longer than an hour. Ollie needs a family with a lot of patience. It takes a little while for him to warm up to people. He has only just started coming to me for pets and scratches in the last few months. In the mornings, if I crawl into bed after all the dogs come in from outside, he will crawl into bed and lay next to me begging for me to pet him. He rolls onto his back and nudges me. He is quite insistent. Sometimes he will come over to me on the couch for some love. Ollies likes to eat apples. I share apples with the dogs. He will eat carrots and he loves Salmon. I share my weekly salmon with the dogs. Ollie does like walks. He walks well on a leash, however, the walks we go on are short because of his fear of open spaces. Short walks that slowly get longer are key here.  He also likes to go. He tolerates car rides well and wants to go whenever he thinks I'm leaving. He will make a great travel buddy.  Ollie can jump almost any baby gate and he does know the command 'stay'.    I think the best home for Ollie would be either a home without children and maybe 1 other dog or a family with older children - 12 and up. I think having another dog will be beneficial to Ollie. Seeing the interaction between humans and their dog helps Ollie trust them more. I think Ollie has learned a lot from me and my dogs. Ollie doesn't accept treats from the hand yet, but maybe in time he will. I haven't been able to train any obedience because he isn't food motivated. He does like toys, but plays only with the other dogs and not me... yet. There is potential there. He is super smart. He just has to get past his fears.   ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Beau is a Butterfinger on four legs: fun-size and ready to party.  If you have an energetic house and are looking for a dog sibling to balance it out — Beau is the guy for you.  He comes from the Chris Farley school of comedy, rolling into a slapstick fall just to make you smile. He plays rough and tumble, a strong boy with a soft mouth.  After he wears out all his buddies, he’ll come find his person, bat his fawn lashes with sincere eyes, and then fall asleep, soft and secure.  Beau will be a treasure to his forever home.    Medical Notes: Neutered Vaccinated Microchipped Heartworm Negative ProHeart 12 Injection Seresto collar for fleas/ticks  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 9, 2025, 7:47 pm

Story
This handsome 4.5 month old puppster is called Boy George and he is what you would call….a character.  A Border Collie mix puppy who is smart and mischievous and a leader in life.  He was born in a litter of 8 puppies around the middle of October and he was the biggest kid in the bunch. He is laidback yet very much an involved pup when it comes to creating dog events that are fun and inquisitive.  He is one that doesn’t back down because he knows that he can win the challenge with his tenacity.  Boy George has conquered all the obligations in his life to learn about housebreaking, crate time and how to walk on a leash with at least a B- rating.  Practice will make perfect when in a family that has more one on one time for him.  He is going to be a 55 pound boy once he is grown.  His Mom is Blue Eyed Kaye and she is a wonderful girl with a happy demeanor and has certainly passed it along to all her sweet offspring.  Boy George is a good pup but he is looking for an even smarter owner that will figure him out before he slips one in on you. He is loving and can be an attention grabber because when you are raised in a pack of 8 siblings, you kind of crave some private time for yourself.  Boy George will be a fun pup to raise and one that will excel at puppy training classes.  At 18 weeks of age and 32 pounds, he is a great size to take on car rides, walks on a trail or  your local neighborhood.  He will welcome new dogs and people to meet and did we mention that he LOVES CATS!   To our Boy George they are just another friend in life!   We will require a home with a securely fenced yard so that this boy can explore and hang out in the great outdoors/backyard.  He is not a digger and he is not a fence climber.  But he is a dog that requires the stimulation both physically and mentally every day.  Teach him things and he will make you a proud dog owner. Someone is looking for a dog like this.  Maybe an only dog in the home or just a great addition because he will be play buddies with anyone.  But always know that you must be the leader of your pack and Boy George.  He craves the boundaries and rules.  He thrives best not having his way and is so moldable.  If interested please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   Mention where you live, city and state.  Transport is available to the northeast outside of Tennessee where he is being fostered PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption. Story
This beautiful girl is called Kenzie and she is a Border Collie mix  from what we can tell due to her size, temperament and the very silky soft fur that adorns her.  This girl is about 6 months old and weighs 32 pounds and is such a spunky and active girl that is happy, charming, and ready for any adventure that you want to ask her to join you in.  Her story is not uncommon in the south, but it definitely was one of  neglect.   Our girl Kenzie is a survivor and a brilliant puppy. Her persona is one of vibrance in life and resilience, topped with confidence.  She adores other dogs, young children and never meets an adult stranger.  She has beautiful eyes that are the color of blue in one and brown in the other.  Her charming personality is bold, happy and full of smiles and energy.  She embraces life with the full expectancy that she will give good love to others and good love will come back to her. And that is what we have promised her at Critter Cavalry Rescue. We will not settle for anything but the best. Our hope is that she will have a home filled with laughter and activities thar also include a home with a fenced yard, and long walks or jogs, along with excursions in the car that the best of great outdoor events. She brings great karma to all who meet her.   If you are interested in this housebroken, crate trained and undeniable beauty, then please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. She is located in Nashville, TN and able to transport on a weekend to the northeast to a new family. Story
We are delighted to say that during this beautiful season of renewal and friendship and family bonding, we have 8 precious little Border Collie/Aussie mix puppies that are looking for a fresh and forever start to their life. Born about the middle of October to a beautiful Aussie mix mom, these babies were fortunately taken in by a senior couple who nurtured them for 7 weeks.  Now these precious beauties are in individual foster homes and learning so much as they grow.  5 boys and 3 girls.  They are handled and cuddled so much!  No fear issues have touched their spirit!   Mom is a 45 pound white and black beauty and we expect each of these smart pups to be in the 45-50 pound range as an adult.  If you were interested in adopting, please right to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
