Story
We are trying to help this sweet girl called Bonnie to find a home since her elderly parents are in failing health and cannot care for their five dogs.  Bonnie is a mix of some interesting breeds.  We think she has some Aussie and maybe Boxer in her.  The Australian Shepherd trait is what makes her a protector of the yard and home when strangers approach.  She is the home security dog officer!   This girl is losing her home because her elderly parents have fallen into bad health.  Bonnie is 4 years old and weighs a little over 40 pounds.  She adores people and is good with the other dogs that she spends time with in the fenced yard.  She is housebroken, affectionate and a devoted girl to her family.  If you would like to give Bonnie her next forever home, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue who is helping her at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 18, 2024, 7:33 am

Story
This is Blue Eyed Lola and she came to our rescue as a very starved nursing momma dog with 6 puppies draining her daily while nursing.  She had been a stray with no food provided for her as she tried to keep her babies alive.  She has now put back on her weight and a tad more than needed but she is safe and loved and trying to find her new family to love.  She is a timid but extremely calm girl that is an Aussie mix with the prettiest blue eyes.  She just wants to belong to someone and her foster mom is so touched by her sweet soul and how she tries to almost be invisible in life and not be a problem.  She needs some confidence building and some training that will make her feel smart!  She is good with other dogs and very submissive to them.  She is just fine with cats and almost completely housebroken.  We love our little Blue Eyed Lola and want the rest of her life to be easy and for her to a treasured part of someone’s family or even a single person’s BFF.  She is great on a leash and rides very well in a car.  She is ready to explore life with someone that wants her to come along.  Lola will be forever grateful to have a chance to love you.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  Let us know where you live:  city and state. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 18, 2024, 7:33 am

Story
Rusty is brand new to Bonaparte's Retreat and we are all already OBSESSED with him! What we already know about him is that his owner passed away and he was extremely sad and confused in the shelter, but has already warmed up with us so we are so glad to see that! He seems good with other dogs and was tested with cats before he came to use and did well. He is very overweight and needs to lose probably around 20lbs so his new family must be on board with continuing on his weight loss journey because it seems to be negatively affecting his ability to walk any distance, etc. Rusty was seen by the vet and thankfully they do not think his walking issues stem from an injury or issue, but from having to deal with the large amount of extra weight that he carries. We are also checking his thyroid but we believe he does have thyroid meds so will start him on meds for that. Rusty is just an incredibly sweet guy but needs some extra help with his wellness journey but he is definitely ready to find his forever home!June 17, 2024, 2:55 pm

Story
Roscoe (Nashville TN) is ready for his FurEver Home! 3 years old & 90 lbs (Gentle Giant) Up to date on ALL vaccinations Microchipped HW neg/on preventative Crate Trained & Potty Trained Good with other dogs (submissive), cats, ducks, chickens and bigger livestock. Incredibly shy at first but he is a protector (non aggressive shepherd) and hard lover. Don't let Roscoe's size deter you, he is very laid back, low energy and loves walks. He is new to leash walking, so he does need to have his harness, so he doesn't pull you down. He is a strong boy, but listens well when called to ease, during a walk. He gets excited when going outside or seeing a squirrel but doesn't chase. He will take a treat from you, when you ask him to sit and is so gentle while doing so. Roscoe loves tummy scratches, laying on the porch during morning coffee and being brushed. His favorite is ear scratches! His FurEver family would be so blessed to have this big snuggle bug! If interested in Roscoe, please fill out an application and he would love to meet you/your family! Fill out the application at: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
Friendly Finn is a lucky dog.  You know one of those who was in a really bad shelter that was run by lazy people who didn’t care if any of the dogs got out alive.  He is a handsome and very friendly Border Collie/Pointer mix that is truly a good looking dog who is about 3 years old, fully vetted, 35 pounds and was at the shelter for 2 years.  TRUTH!   How awful that this beautiful soul was there in that dirty place and in the tiny kennel run with another dog. He wasn’t fed much and he is lucky to have survived the torture of that specific shelter.   Friendly is a good word for Finn since he is good with other dogs and kids unknown.  He is surprisingly very good on a leash, but his nerves can get the best of him when riding in a car.  He might need a little medication till he gets used to riding.  Finn needs a big yard or maybe daily trips to a dog park.  We want him to live a life that is not limited as he has experienced these past 2+ years in the shelter.  If you are interested in Fostering or Adopting Finn please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 18, 2024, 7:33 am
