Story
LaCroix may not see or hear the world the way we do, but he feels it in full. This sweet, resilient boy is both blind and mostly deaf, and he’s looking for a special person or family to help him navigate life with love, patience, and a little creativity. Despite his unique needs, LaCroix has the spirit of an explorer and the heart of a cuddlebug. Once he understands his surroundings, he settles into a routine beautifully and bonds deeply with the people who guide him with consistency and kindness. He responds well to gentle touch cues, learns spaces with a little help, and thrives in calm, structured environments. He'll do best in a home that’s safe, predictable, and filled with empathy—a place where he can feel secure and celebrated just as he is. LaCroix is a truly inspiring pup who reminds us that love doesn’t need to come with instructions—it just needs patience, understanding, and time. If you’re ready to be his guide through this world, he’ll reward you with trust, loyalty, and a connection that’s deeper than words. Ready to meet this extraordinary soul? LaCroix is waiting to show you that sometimes, the most beautiful things are the ones you feel with your heart.

Story
Missio is a relationship kind of guy, a quietly thoughtful pup who forms strong bonds with his people given a little time and patience. He enjoys short walks but is just as happy lounging by your side. You’ll often find him stretched out in a sunny spot in the home or yard, soaking up the warmth. Calm and well-mannered, Missio did wonderfully being free-roam at home. He loves treats and training, already mastering cues like sit and place. One of his favorite games is guessing which hand is holding the treat. Once settled in, his playful side emerges with toys, zoomies, and his signature foot pats. He’ll lean against you for booty scritches and cuddles. Missio thrives on routine and is ready to share a calm, loving life with a special person. Could that be you? Story
Kelloggs: Everyone’s Friend with Energy to Spare Kelloggs is new to us at APA and came from another shelter, so we’re still getting to know him. That said, the prior shelter shared some great details that already paint a happy picture of this social pup. Kelloggs is very friendly and seems determined to be everyone’s friend. He loves people, enjoys playtime, and brings an energetic, joyful vibe wherever he goes. Treats are a big motivator for him, and he’s happy to show off his manners by sitting politely for them. According to the prior shelter, Kelloggs has done well with other dogs he’s met and is comfortable making canine friends. His social nature and playful energy make him a great candidate for an active home that enjoys engagement, fun, and companionship. If you’re looking for a dog who’s outgoing, affectionate, and always ready to make new friends, Kelloggs may be the perfect match.

Inquisitive and Ready for Adventure Huey is an Australian Cattle Dog mix with a playful, affectionate, and endlessly curious personality. Adventurous and brave, he loves exploring the world around him—whether it’s a walk through the neighborhood, a game of fetch in the yard, or showing off his signature zoomies. Huey is always eager to investigate new sights and smells, making every day with him an exciting little adventure. Huey enjoys going to our social playgroups with other dogs, showing a friendly and playful side while also listening carefully to guidance and corrections. He’s house-trained and crate-trained, so he’s comfortable both at play and during quiet, relaxed moments at home. While he can be a little shy when meeting new people, Huey quickly warms up and reveals his affectionate, cuddly side, showing just how much he loves attention and companionship. His inquisitive nature makes him a smart pup who thrives with gentle encouragement, mental stimulation, and activities that challenge his agile mind. Huey is looking for a home where he can continue to explore, play, and grow into the loyal adventure buddy he’s meant to be. He’s the perfect match for someone ready to embrace an active, fun-loving dog who is as spirited as he is loving.

Story
Look at this adorable youngster! Sage is a beautiful, fun puppy who is looking for a home where she can mature into a fantastic long-term companion! Sage is currently living in an APA foster home where she is learning all the ropes. She's starting to get used to her crate, she's picking up some basic commands, and she's even getting an early introduction to leash walking. We have found Sage to be very sweet and playful. She loves to be around people, and may even try to herd them! She is never bored - when she's not playing with you she will make her own fun with her toys or by chewing on a bone. She loves a game of chase, but from firsthand experience we can tell you she is hard to catch! She is an athletic, confident dog who would be a great match for an active household. She will try to catch the stream of a hose, romp around in the yard, or catch insects mid-flight! Sage would love a home where she can stay busy. She's very smart and trainable, and loves to have a job to do. We think she'd do well with children or other dogs. But as long as she receives love and attention, we think she could fit into a variety of families. Why not let her join yours?
