Story
Meet Tabitha! This adorable little girl has been in Wisconsin now for nearly a year :( We've learned so much about her during this time we just know the perfect home is out there for her! She prefers the company of women, and love to hang out with other dogs. Shes quite the snuggler in bed if you let her sleep with you, or she's totally fine hanging out with other dogs to snooze. She enjoys her time outdoors and does best in a home with a fenced yard. She currently is in a foster home on a farm and enjoys all things farm related! Tabitha will do best in a home with herding breed experience! She might need more than one meeting to warm up to you, but once she does, you are her friend for life! Please help us find the perfect home for Tabitha! She's one of a kind! **Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Wisconsin applications are priority, but Illinois applications will be considered if no small children are present in the home, the home is owned, and excellent vet reference can be provided. We cannot process applications from other states. Adoption fee is $350 unless otherwise noted above. Puppies under 1 year of age accept application for families with children over 6 years of age for large breeds and over 8 years of age for small breeds. Since they are still puppies, dogs under 1 will require a basic obedience and puppy training class, and spay/neuter at the owners expense. Story
Caramel is a 10-month-old Heeler mix who’s as sweet as his name. This smart, affectionate boy came to us as a stray through one of our puppy mill contacts and has been working hard to learn about the good life. He’s incredibly bright, food-motivated, and eager to please — he just needs a calm, structured home to help him shine. Like many young herding breeds, Caramel didn’t get much direction early in life, but he’s already showing how quickly he can settle and focus with a gentle hand and clear guidance. The shelter has been overwhelming for him, and we’re watching his stress grow — this boy desperately needs a break. Caramel would thrive as the only pet in the home, where he can build confidence and soak up all the love and attention he’s missed out on. With a patient foster or adopter willing to show him the ropes, Caramel is going to be a truly fantastic companion. ✨ Can you give this sweet, sensitive soul the stability and comfort he’s been waiting for? All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://www.sftsrescue.org/adoptable-dogs

Story
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxQD-9Bt1kw Please read the entire profile. John Connor has been with the rescue since last summer since he and his mom were dumped in the country. He is about 18 months old now and I don't understand why he hasn't been adopted. He is adorable, he only weighs about 40 lbs, he is great with other dogs, people, and cats. Perfect little dude. He loves to run and play and splish splash in the water. He would make a great companion for an active individual or a family that enjoys outdoor adventures or spending lots of time in the backyard. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) -- Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Joey-male-neutered-1 year-68 pounds. Meet Joey! Happy-go-lucky is exactly Joey! He`s a great dog who loves attention and is incredibly smart. He was housetrained in his previous home and crated when unsupervised or alone. Joey adores all kinds of toys, especially ball-shaped ones. He enjoys belly rubs, walks, and plenty of playtime. Joey knows how to sit and knows the command, `in your house` for going in his crate. The sky`s the limit with him! Joey is an active boy who loves to be your best buddy. His personality wins hearts all the time! Joey was recently adopted but returned due to him and the resident dog not meshing well once they were in the home together. So, he`s back taking applications to see if his match is out there! Could it be you? Apply to meet him at www.cchswi.org DATCP License #266742-DS

Story
Cash-Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog/mixed breed-male-neutered-2 1/2 years-72 pounds. Meet Cash! Cash is one cool dog! He was surrendered to us due to killing chickens, so if you have chickens, he`s not for you! When you meet Cash, his personality steals your heart. He`s a very sweet boy who has been trained well and is ready to be your new buddy. He knows commands, has good recall and even loves to get exercise by running with a 4-wheeler. Cash is good with other dogs but can be bossy, been around barn cats (but won`t share food with them) and good with kids. Cash has been a farm dog and normally roams the farm and was kept in a barn stall when containment was needed. He has not been a housedog, however, he`s very clean in his kennel and would most likely housetrain quickly. Cash is a great buddy dog! Apply to meet him at www.cchswi.org DATCP License #266742-DS
