Story
Iris came to us from a rural animal control in Missouri, VERY pregnant and quite skinny. She soon gave birth, and now that her babies are all grown it's time for her to be the center of someone's world! Iris's speckled coat is stunning, and her sweet, snuggly nature is just icing on the cake. Her foster shared, "Iris is going to make anyone a great companion! She enjoys walks and even goes for runs. Iris will also snuggle up with you on the couch and watch your favorite show. Just beware, she snores when she gets really tired! Its the cutest noise 😆" Apply for this amazing girl today! All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at https://www.sftsrescue.org/adoptable-dogs

Story
Meet Tabitha! This adorable little girl has been in Wisconsin now for nearly a year :( We've learned so much about her during this time we just know the perfect home is out there for her! She prefers the company of women, and love to hang out with other dogs. Shes quite the snuggler in bed if you let her sleep with you, or she's totally fine hanging out with other dogs to snooze. She enjoys her time outdoors and does best in a home with a fenced yard. She currently is in a foster home on a farm and enjoys all things farm related! Tabitha will do best in a home with herding breed experience! She might need more than one meeting to warm up to you, but once she does, you are her friend for life! Please help us find the perfect home for Tabitha! She's one of a kind! **Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Wisconsin applications are priority, but Illinois applications will be considered if no small children are present in the home, the home is owned, and excellent vet reference can be provided. We cannot process applications from other states. Adoption fee is $350 unless otherwise noted above. Puppies under 1 year of age accept application for families with children over 6 years of age for large breeds and over 8 years of age for small breeds. Since they are still puppies, dogs under 1 will require a basic obedience and puppy training class, and spay/neuter at the owners expense. ***** Max has been here longer than we would like so he is a member of our Lonely Hearts Club and his adoption fee has been reduced to $100. *****Meet Max! Max is friendly and loves spending time with his humans, but can be a little fearful in new situations, so he may need a patient and understanding owner who can help him feel secure as he adjusts to his surroundings. Max can also be reactive towards other dogs, so he’s best suited to a home where he can have his own space without other animal friends. He would thrive in an environment where his needs for quiet, routine, and reassurance are met. For the right family, he would make a loyal canine companion!Eligible for a goodpup scholarship! Medical History: Max is a healthy senior, but it`s always a good idea to schedule an appointment with your future vet soon after adoption!Weight: 44 lbsRestrictions: No other animals in home, and no small children. Must have fenced yard.Adoption Fee: $100If you`d like to meet me, click the `Learn About the Adoption Process` button below to plan a visit to the shelter!

Story
Howdy partner! The name’s Johnny, and just like the legendary Johnny Cash, I’ve got a little bit of a country musician in me as well! With a lot of heart, some big lungs, and a deep love for a good song, I’m the puppy with a fiery spirit who`s always ready to take on the world. I’m still learning the ropes of this big ol’ world, so I’m looking for a home where I can grow into the loyal companion that I’m destined to be. I might be small, but I’ve got plenty of personality, and I’m ready to add some joy to your life with my sweet nature. As my namesake once said, “I walk the line” — and I’ll be walking it straight into your heart! I’m ready to grow, learn, and share some of that good ol’ country love with you!Medical: Johnny is a healthy puppy, but it would be best to set up a vet appointment to have them meet their new vet as soon as they can. My new family can help me out by introducing me to all kinds of people and dogs and adventure while I`m still small! I mean doggie bed, same thing!Medical: : I appear to be a healthy adult, but it`s always a good idea to set up an appointment with your vet soon after adoption so we can meet each other!Weight: ~ 8lbsAdoption Fee: $475 + TaxIf you`d like to meet me, click the `Learn About the Adoption Process` button below to plan a visit to the shelter!
