Story
Meet Tabitha! This adorable little girl has been in Wisconsin now for nearly a year :( We've learned so much about her during this time we just know the perfect home is out there for her! She prefers the company of women, and love to hang out with other dogs. Shes quite the snuggler in bed if you let her sleep with you, or she's totally fine hanging out with other dogs to snooze. She enjoys her time outdoors and does best in a home with a fenced yard. She currently is in a foster home on a farm and enjoys all things farm related! Tabitha will do best in a home with herding breed experience! She might need more than one meeting to warm up to you, but once she does, you are her friend for life! Please help us find the perfect home for Tabitha! She's one of a kind! **Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Wisconsin applications are priority, but Illinois applications will be considered if no small children are present in the home, the home is owned, and excellent vet reference can be provided. We cannot process applications from other states. Adoption fee is $350 unless otherwise noted above. Puppies under 1 year of age accept application for families with children over 6 years of age for large breeds and over 8 years of age for small breeds. Since they are still puppies, dogs under 1 will require a basic obedience and puppy training class, and spay/neuter at the owners expense. Story
6 years old Neutered male Has done well with other dogs Hasn't shown much interest in low-energy, lounging cats No known experience children Housetrained I'm a loyal boy who just wants to be by your side. While you work, I'll chill out nearby, taking naps or enjoying a Kong. But when it's playtime, get ready for some epic zoomies in the yard—I'll run circles around you! I might not fetch balls, but I sure love chasing them. My ears are pretty expressive, too; they go up, down, and sideways whenever I hear something interesting. I'm a bit of an alarm barker, so I might not be the best fit for an apartment, but I'm great with other dogs and I haven't shown much interest in the low-energy cat I've met, but I do like chasing birds and chipmunks outside, so shelter staff isn't sure how I'd react to a more active feline. I'm also potty trained, know my basic commands, and I'm ready to find my new best friend! I have been waiting a while to find my home so my adopter can name their own adoption fee when they take me home! The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.September 6, 2024, 5:52 pm

Story
Meet Lynx, a three-year-old Blue Heeler mix with lots of professional training under his belt. He's crate-trained, potty-trained, and great with cats and respectful older kids. Lynx loves all toys and is always up for a game of fetch, tug, or his favorite, frisbee, which he can catch right out of the air. An adventurous spirit, he enjoys hiking and will want to be by your side wherever you go. He’s a big-time snuggler with a sensitive side, warming up quickly to new people with the right introduction. Lynx would thrive in a home that engages him in dog sports like fast cat, agility, barn hunt, or nose work, given his high drive. Since he doesn’t do well with corrections, he’d do best with a handler familiar with positive reinforcement training. He can be selective with other dogs, so proper introductions are necessary to ensure everyone gets along. Whether it's a sporty home or a loving companion lifestyle, Lynx will shine as long as his obedience is maintained and his needs are met.
