Story
Meet Lady! Lady is a 2-year-old Kelpie/Bloodhound mix with a huge heart and a wicked-smart brain. She came from Dallas and has been thriving in her foster home ever since. Lady is deeply affectionate and bonds quickly, but she’s a little shy at first — especially around hands — and appreciates someone who lets her set the pace early on. Once she trusts you, she’s loyal, loving, and all-in. As a true working-breed mix, Lady is sharp, eager to learn, and loves having a “job.” If it moves, she’ll try to herd it, so she does best with adults and either as an only dog or with dogs who won’t mind her instincts. She absolutely shines with consistent direction, structure, and clear boundaries. Lady’s superpowers: Wicked smart + quick learner Treat-motivated and thrives with positive reinforcement Nose that never quits — she loves scent work and mental games Bonds deeply once she feels safe Lady is also working through a few things: she can be leash reactive, she has some resource-guarding tendencies, and she’s still learning to trust hands. The good news? She responds incredibly well to training and consistency. Her foster family, along with guidance from a trainer, has already given her a strong foundation — especially with her crate, which she now sees as her safe, cozy spot. Lady’s dream home: Adults only A yard for zoomies Someone steady, patient, and consistent An adopter excited to continue training (she loves it and learns fast!) If you want a smart, devoted, endlessly rewarding companion who’s ready to grow with you, Lady could be your girl. She just needs the right person to bring out her very best.  December 14, 2025, 8:53 pm

Story
Meet Ronda!Ronda is a sweet, playful gal who may be a little shy at first—but give her a few days, and she’ll blossom into your new best friend. She’s an active pup who loves to run around and is learning to play fetch (though sometimes she gets so excited she forgets to bring the toy back!). Ronda is adjusting wonderfully to life outside the shelter. She’s mostly potty trained and will let you know when she needs to go out, but if she can’t hold it, she’ll use potty pads. She gets so excited to play outside that she sometimes needs a gentle reminder that it’s also potty time. Walks are still a little intimidating for her, but with patience and encouragement, she’s learning that they can be fun. Ronda is a Kelpie mix, though on the smaller side—she may even have some Chihuahua in her. No matter her mix, she’s a lovable, playful companion who is eager to bond with her forever family. She would do best in a home without young children. Slow introductions to other dogs are best, and while she’s still figuring out cats, she knows to leave them alone when told. Ronda can’t wait to meet her perfect match. Come see her at an adoption event—she just might steal your heart! ##2461439##

All people inquiring about pets listed as Courtesy Listings on the EAPL website and/or EAPL posting adoption boards should contact the current pet owner/rescue/shelter for answers to any questions and for final approval and placement. Please do not contact EAPL  about courtesy listings. The pet owner/rescue/shelter and new owner shall make all arrangements on transferring the pet, including information on history, vaccines, etc.  Please contact his family by  email or phone  Ejchadwick97@gmail.com  or 970-692-3022    Looking to rehome our little buddy! Archie is a sweet 2-year-old Kelpie mix weighing about 30 lbs. He's very affectionate and great with larger dogs, but we've learned he's not the best fit for our home with toddlers. He tends to get annoyed and overwhelmed by little ones and will accidentally knock them over when playing.   Archie would do best in a home with children ages 5 and up, or with adults who can give him consistent attention and training. He's energetic and smart, but he does have a few habits that need work - mainly digging and jumping. With time and training, he'll make a wonderful companion. We just don't have the time or resources to give him the structure he needs, and we want to find him a home where he can thrive. He is neutered and has his rabies shots. December 4, 2025, 5:41 pm

Story
Monk is a two-year-old, approximately 55-pound dog with a gentle and affectionate personality. He’s well-mannered, quiet, and highly intelligent, making him a wonderful addition to a caring family.Monk is good on a leash and enjoys taking walks. He is also great in the car, ready for adventures with his new family. He gets along well with other dogs, including smaller ones, but is not a fan of cats, so a home without feline friends would be best for him.He loves to play catch, and would thrive in a home with a yard, where he can run and explore freely. Monk is crate trained and loves to relax by your feet while you sit on the porch or watch TV at night (or even on your lap) He enjoys toys and responds well to commands, showcasing his clever nature.Located in Houston, Texas and his $300 transport fee has been sponsored by a generous donor.

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred from Chloe's Canine Dog Sanctuary in Amarillo, TX. Saphire is pregnant with unknown number of puppies (Oct. 28th). She was set for euthanasia as no one was able to care for a litter, and she was believed to be too far along to spay. She is suspected to be 1-2 weeks from delivering and somewhere between 1 and 2 years old. Mom dogs are adoptable after they've raised their puppies, settled, and completed their spay. From the foster: Saphie is a lover. She can’t seem to get close enough to you for snuggles. She does great with other dogs, but would prefer a home with no cats or livestock. She’s energetic and would make a great walking, running or hiking/camping partner. She loves to play ball, but will settle down in the house with you as well. Saphie’s working on commands and is very smart. She would be a star in obedience class for sure. Saphie is also crate trained for when we leave the house, but does great at night outside the crate as well. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred from Animal Rescue Friends of Floydada in Texas with Mama Cinnamon and her litter of 5, 8 week old puppies (3M 2F). Found as strays prior to rescue. **Changed food to Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Stomach, along with three days of probiotics, loose stools have resolved. This litter should stay on a sensitive stomach formula food for 6-8 weeks before trying to transition to other options.** From the foster: Hi I’m Graham, and I have THE BEST puppy dog eyes you’ve ever seen. Like seriously it doesn’t get any cuter. I am a little bundle of fluff and have much more energy than my littermates. While they nap, I roam for toys, seek out the foster dog to play, and overall want to be with my people. I love my 2 year old foster dog friend and like to get him to play with me or run around with toys. I don’t like to be alone, so I’m looking for a family who LOVES a velcro dog that wants me to follow you everywhere, sit in the same room with you always (sometimes in your lap), and join you on every adventure. My foster family has 5 kids (ages 7-13) and I get lots of belly rubs (love those!), play time, and snuggles. I’m basically a rockstar with kids! I’m seeking my forever home with someone who will always include me and has time for playing, walks, and activities as I’m one smart pup who wants to be on the go with you. I am more quiet than my siblings but if you give me some toys I will really romp and play! I love a warm bed and a great nap especially if I can be in the same room as you. I just want to me near my people to stay in the know but also like my own space to relax. I am an expert greeter when you come home (or come back from the other room) and happily accept belly rubs and snuggles. I’ve been in a house with a 2 year old foster dog and we get along great. There are also 5 kids in my foster house (ages 7-13) and I have been held by everyone and played with and do great with all the kids. I’m basically a soft quiet little girl but my playfulness comes out when you get to know me. I’d love someone who wants a true companion with my own basket of toys.
