Story
We adopted Jack when he was 3 months old. He is now 6 years old. He is full of energy and very vocal. He has been raised around kids but we recently had another baby and we feel that he deserves to have more attention and mental stimulation than we can give him. He loves a good chest and tummy rub and loves running and playing. He can be a bit wild around younger children but would be fine with older children. He loves eating snow and being close to his people. He is smart and confident and would love to have another dog companion. His worst trait is that he likes to bark but I feel like he just needs consistent training to adjust time and place for it.

Story
Hi, I'm Selena! I’m a 1-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with a sweet personality and just the right amount of spunk. I currently weigh around 20 pounds but still have a little growing left to do. I’m getting the hang of sleeping in my crate, though I’d much rather be close to my people. I’ve already mastered the doggie door and am learning that outside isn’t just for play... it’s where I’m supposed to go potty, too. Who knew? I absolutely love people and am currently living with a cat. He’s not really into playing, so I leave him alone—no big deal! I'm up to date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. Apply to meet me today! Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2394426##

Story
HOMEOWNERSHIP REQUIRED! Are you looking for a sweet, loving soul to join your family? Deimos, aka Saul, is your man! He is 4 years old, 60 lbs, and looking for love and a place to call home.  Deimos is fully potty trained and knows basic commands (sit, stay, heel, lay down, come, shake), which he learned in a comprehensive board-and-train program, and knows how to use the doggie door. He continues to work on his leash manners and work through some manageable anxiety about new things and people. He is crate trained, is calm while you're away, and sleeps contentedly through the night (he loves to snuggle, if you're into that). Deimos still has the fun puppy energy without all those pesky puppy habits. Silly, wiggly, and bouncy? Check! Chewing and jumping? Not this guy! He would love to be your adventure buddy but also would love to cuddle up on the couch with you or assist on your work-from-home days (do you need a handsome boy to join you on your Zoom meeting? Deimos is happy to oblige).  He will brighten your day with his happy thumping tail, his intrigue about dogs and other animals on the TV, his kind eyes, and gentle pawing and head butts to get pets. He is friendly with his foster brother, but can be apprehensive about certain dogs he sees on walks. He will need structured introductions and a confident and supportive family to advocate for him with new friends. He does not need another dog in his new home, but it would be an added bonus if his new family had a confident dog who can teach him the ropes. He loves people, but will need a little time (a few minutes typically) and structure to adjust to new people who come around; he simply prefers not to be pet immediately and that he makes the choice about being touched. He decides swiftly and with confidence who to trust when given the space he needs. Turns out he trusts essentially everyone! He would thrive with a family who is as loyal to and supportive of him as he will be to them; can provide structure and love; and can help him gain confidence and learn that the world is not a scary place. He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and ready to join your family today. Apply to learn more and meet this true gem of a dog. Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##1193696##

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Biscuit #2 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Biscuit #2 | 11 weeks | Australian Shepherd Mix with a playful heart Biscuit is an 12-week-old Australian Shepherd mix weighing about 15 pounds, and he’s every bit the happy, confident puppy you’d hope for. This light-brown little guy is playful, affectionate, and loves being close to his people. He enjoys toys, chew bones, and snuggling under the covers, and he has an endearing habit of hiding his toys and resting his head on you when it’s time to relax. Biscuit is very social, loves meeting new people of all ages, and is friendly and outgoing with other dogs. Biscuit is well on his way with house training and already knows to run to the back door when he needs to go outside. During the day he uses a doggie door and does great, with only occasional puppy accidents. Crate training is progressing nicely—he goes in with encouragement, especially since his meals are fed in his open crate, and while he may whine at first, he settles fairly quickly. Covering the crate with a blanket and leaving him a chew helps him feel secure when left alone for a few hours. Like most puppies his age, Biscuit is just beginning leash training and is still taking in the big wide world, preferring to stop and sniff everything along the way. He’s very smart, already knows cues like “sit,” “come,” and “no,” and is highly motivated by food, toys, and affection. He has classic puppy energy, loves to play hard, then happily curls up for cuddles. Biscuit is also in the teething stage, so continued guidance with play biting will be important. Biscuit would thrive in a home with another playful dog or an active family who can give him plenty of attention, structure, and ongoing training. He’s a sweet, snuggly, joyful puppy who is ready to grow up alongside a family committed to all the fun and learning that comes with raising a young dog.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Sugar #6 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails).   Sugar #6 | 12 weeks | Aussie Mix with a sweet but spunky vibe Sugar is an 12-week-old Aussie mix puppy who perfectly balances sweetness and spunk. Weighing around 15 pounds, this carmel colored girl with unique markings on her face is friendly, playful, and full of puppy enthusiasm. She loves toys and approaches new situations with confidence and curiosity. Sugar is quick to bounce back if things don’t go as planned and is always eager for her next adventure—or cuddle. Sugar is starting from scratch with house training and basic manners, as expected for her age. She’s still learning that the crate is a safe place and may vocalize at first, especially when left alone. She has been crated for short stretches (around 3–4 hours) and is gradually improving. Like most puppies, she’s working through play biting and learning appropriate chew habits, and treats are a great way to keep her engaged and learning. She has done very well with other dogs, including much larger ones, and would love a canine companion to play with. Sugar is also doing well with cats—she’s curious and playful and is learning boundaries with guidance. She hasn’t met kids yet but is generally social and affectionate with people of all kinds. Sugar will need an active home committed to continued training, exercise, and patience as she grows into her personality.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Came from shelter in Guymon, OK. Was shot with buckshot and taken to the vet to have bullets removed, owner never came to pick her back up so she was brought to the shelter and ended up on the euthanasia list for being too high energy and due to the length of stay at the shelter. *Was perviously a working dog, needs a home that is very active or has a job for her.* From the foster: Hi! I’m Lola! Lo-Lo-Lo-Lo-Lola I’m a sensitive, highly intelligent working dog who’s learning that the world can be a safe and rewarding place. When we first meet, I might seem shy or cautious. New people, unfamiliar places, or sudden movements can make me want to take a step back. I do best when I’m given kindness, patience, consistency, and gentle guidance. Once I start to feel safe, I relax and let my true, silly personality shine! I love to be active. Going on walks, runs (even rollerblading beside you)and going to dog friendly stores; most anything you can do I can do too! I really enjoy problem-solving and having a “job” to do—it helps me feel confident and fulfilled. I may not be the kind of dog who offers instant affection—but if you’re willing to put in the time, I promise the reward is worth it. Watching me grow more confident and trusting is something truly special, and the bond we’ll build together will be deep and unbreakable! www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
