She’s an active pup who loves to run around and is learning to play fetch (though sometimes she gets so excited she forgets to bring the toy back!). Ronda is adjusting wonderfully to life outside the shelter. She’s mostly potty trained and will let you know when she needs to go out, but if she can’t hold it, she’ll use potty pads. She gets so excited to play outside that she sometimes needs a gentle reminder that it’s also potty time. Walks are still a little intimidating for her, but with patience and encouragement, she’s learning that they can be fun. Ronda is a Kelpie mix, though on the smaller side—she may even have some Chihuahua in her. No matter her mix, she’s a lovable, playful companion who is eager to bond with her forever family. She would do best in a home without young children. Slow introductions to other dogs are best, and while she’s still figuring out cats, she knows to leave them alone when told. Hello, I'm Ronan Ronan, is a loving, cuddly, shy in new situations guy who is looking for a human that will be patient as he adjust to new situations who will then blossom into the most loyal companion. Ronan is great in his kennel at the events. He doesn’t bark and waits perfectly for volunteers to take him for walks. He is around 30 lbs and will not get any bigger. He loves going for walks but still a little nervous in new surroundings. I am a medium to high energy guy, but also love to be held and cuddled. Archie is a sweet 2-year-old Kelpie mix weighing about 30 lbs. He's very affectionate and great with larger dogs, but we've learned he's not the best fit for our home with toddlers. He tends to get annoyed and overwhelmed by little ones and will accidentally knock them over when playing. Archie would do best in a home with children ages 5 and up, or with adults who can give him consistent attention and training. He's energetic and smart, but he does have a few habits that need work - mainly digging and jumping. With time and training, he'll make a wonderful companion. Our petite Coney is a special soul, who just wants to be loved by her people. Left abandoned after her family moved, she is ready to find a life partner in adventure, relaxation, and love. She is only 28 pounds and is fully grown, so we put her as a small dog simply so she would not get overlooked. She fits right in between your legs and will snuggle there. She would love to be a lap dog and walks well on a leash. She enjoys playing with other dogs, and is polite about that, though being with people is what she would always prefer, and she would like to be an only dog with doggie friends. She is medium energy, and loves to lie under a desk while you are working or by your feet in the kitchen. She lives with a dog-savvy cat in the foster home and does just fine. She is quite well-behaved and loves her crate as her safe space. Coney has a smile on her face most of the time, and is a gentle soul ready for her forever!

Felix is a beautiful red aussie, approximately 7 to 10 years old. We are helping a veterinary find a home for Felix and his companion Minnie. Felix is aged at 7-10 years old, he is neutered and is more stoic and chill than Minnie, but he gets bouts of the zoomies that are hilarious to witness. Felix is stiff and dominant when meeting other dogs. He is not outright aggressive, by any means, but if a dog challenges him he will respond. Felix is quick to correct Minnie when she is over the top with him, but he is fair and quick in his corrections. Felix knows basic commands as well as a trick or two and loves to show off for treats! Felix is also slightly protective of his food and water -- we believe that is because he is diabetic. Felix is a controlled diabetic and has done VERY well on his insulin. This is a lifelong health issue and he will have to remain on insulin for life. Felix is crate trained and doesn't like to mess in his kennel. He has the walking schedule down and will let us know if we're late. Both dogs were found off highway I-40, just outside of Amarillo Texas. We have done everything possible to find their owners, with no luck, so now they are looking for a new home. I believe Minnie and Felix need to find a home together, preferably with no other dogs, or a very submissive female. We have no idea how they are around kids as this is a vet clinic, but they are both herding breeds and showcase most of the traits. Neither dog has EVER been mouthy towards staff or visitors. Mini is friendly with all people and has done well with controlled meets of other dogs. She did jump at one of our clinic cats, but after the cat slapped her, she decided that avoiding them all was the best course. Minnie is crate trained as she waits quietly until she has to use the bathroom and then she will let us know. Minnie does well on the leash and knows several basic commands. She LOVES her big brother Felix and is a prime example of the Australian Shepherd Breed, in her mannerisms, energy level and desire to be with people.
