Hi, I’m Fern! I’m a 5-year-old girl weighing in at a perfect 49 lbs, and I am so excited to meet you! If you’re looking for a medium-sized best friend who is the definition of "chill," I think we’re going to get along just fine. I haven't made a peep since I arrived at my foster home—not a single bark!—because I’m much more interested in soaking up the vibes and being wherever my people are.My typical day is all about the "supervision" life. When my foster mom is out working in the garden, I’m by her side or laying down watching the neighborhood, enjoying the fresh air and keeping her company. I have a very sophisticated hobby, too: I am fascinated by reflected light! If a watch or a phone catches a sunbeam and dances on the wall, I am immediately intrigued. After my outdoor shift is over, I take my job as a professional couch snuggler very seriously. There is nothing I love more than curling up next to you for a long nap.I’m also a total pro when we leave the house. I am house-trained and a fantastic walker, so our strolls together will be the highlight of the day. When we see other dogs, I’m interested but polite —I’m great at "reading the room" and checking their body language to see if they want to be friends before I say hello. I am currently working on my relationship with the crate; it’s a little scary for me right now, but I’m a brave girl and am getting closer to it! I just want a family to love, and I promise to pay you back in endless snuggles and sunbeam-chasing!Although I do great on leash, I would love a fenced yard to call my own! I just love being outside! Fern was heartworm positive and has completed her treatment. She received a preliminary negative result on a microfilaria test but is awaiting a negative test result to a Heartworm test 9 months after treatment per our vets recommendations. She no longer needs to be on exercise restrictions. Fern will need continued use of monthly heartworm prevention. Meet Brooks (Brindle, 8 years old) & Dunn (White, 6 years old)🐾🐾 These two sweet old gentlemen have been with us for almost four months now, and they’ve completely stolen our hearts. Brooks (the brown one) and Dunn (the white one) came to us from down south, and while we don’t know much about their past, it’s very clear they are wonderful, gentle souls. They are very bonded and truly do best as a pair... Where one goes; the other isn’t far behind. Both boys are neutered and up to date on core vaccines. They are fantastic with children, get along great with other dogs, and are even pretty respectful of cats. They’re the kind of dogs that just fit in. Despite their age, they’ve adapted beautifully to changes and new routines. They’re happy to lounge, explore the yard, and enjoy the simple things in life. They stick close while off-leash, have hearty appetites, and yes... they’re delightfully chunky 😄. Brooks is the goofier of the two and is OBSESSED with Kongs and chew toys. Dunn is a bit more reserved and thoughtful, but just as loving in his own quiet way. If we didn’t already have a full house of dogs, we would keep these two in a heartbeat. Their need for a new home is absolutely no fault of their own — we simply don’t have the space to add two large dogs long-term. Brooks & Dunn are truly special, and they deserve a calm, loving home where they can spend their golden years together. They’re perfect just as they are. 💙 These pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered & up to date on vaccinations. The adoption fee is $500 for the bonded pair. Gus is a loyal and affectionate companion that loves being at home curled up next to his family. He does best with a predictable routine and consistent schedule.Gus alerts the household to any incoming deliveries daily. However, the second someone actually comes inside, Gus settles right down and will likely even sit on their lap if they agree to it. He isn’t a fan of high energy/young kids, as that kicks his herding instincts into go-mode. He is best suited for teenagers or older, and those who understand his breed and boundaries.Gus is not a fan of many other dogs, but is okay with a select few if introduced properly and slowly. He did grow up with another dog for a year, but after his “brother” passed, he has been much more introverted. He loves walks and has had extensive obedience training.
