Story
Hi! My name is Carla. I am one and a half years old. I am believed to be an Australian Kelpie or maybe an Australian Shepherd mix. Mainly, I am mixed with love! I am a very happy, energetic, loyal, alert, eager and extremely intelligent young girl with puppy like tendencies. Due to my breed, I am capable of untiring work and endless energy if so desired. I would fit in best with an active lifestyle that includes lots of opportunities to exercise in a large fenced-in yard where I can zip around and show off my athleticism. I can run really fast. My foster mom says I'm like a bullet when I'm running at top speed! Kelpies and Australian Shepherds prefer to have a job to do as they were created to herd sheep and cattle. I will need stimulation and small tasks to keep my mind active and my energy in check. A good job or a workout combined with the mental exercise of obedience lessons would help me be my best version of myself. The mental exercise that the training provides would be a great way to keep me happy and involved. Training me for agility, obedience and rally are some great ways to give me some exercise. Although I sound like a lot of work, I can be chill as well so don't be scared off! I would be an excellent choice for adults and/or families with older (teenage) children that love to play and keep me entertained. While I love being super energetic, I also have an "off" switch too. I'm super happy if you take me out for a run, but I will be just as happy to settle down and snuggle on the couch afterwards to watch a movie. I enjoy being walked twice a day to sniff the neighborhood and do my business. I currently know how to sit and leave it. My foster mom is teaching me some additional words and some other useful commands as well. I learn really fast!! When you meet me you will notice that I have a great smile, love being petted, enjoy fetching and chewing on tennis balls, playing tug with my rope toy, and getting belly rubs. Scratches behind my ears make me very happy as well. I apologize upfront as I can be a bit bossy with other dogs...sorry...kind of a breed characteristic, so I would prefer to be an only dog and cats make my "chase" button turn on, so best to avoid those as well. But don't worry, I can certainly fill up your home with lots of fur baby fun! If you would like to open your heart and your home to me, please email STORKWOODS@COMCAST.NET directly. This is the BEST way to get an application. I am being fostered in Middle TN but there is transport available to fabulous homes in the NE.

Story
Meet Efrem (my foster mom calls me Eli). This handsome hunk is about 10 months old and a complete LOVE! ASCZ thinks I am a mix of Kelpie & maybe hound; I am about 35 lbs. I am housebroken. I am crate trained. I love other dogs! I take about 5 minutes to warm up to new people! I love to run & play & explore and go for walks with my people and dog friends. I am intrigued by the resident cat, not mean but I did like to chase her at first. I would probably do great with kids if given the right amount of time to get accustomed to their fast movements and louder kid ways. I live with a 12 year old now and he's cool! I am a little timid at first, but some reassurance goes a long way. I would love a new doggie sibling to play with and give me a little confidence! That would be great because I love to play. I learn quickly and I am a smart cookie and some training, practice on the leash and lots of love will do me good! I have been waiting a long time... my siblings are all adopted... not sure why no one wants me?! But, maybe saving the best for last?? Here is the link to the application for me: https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Meet Midge, a pint-sized 8-week-old Blue Heeler heroine with an unbreakable spirit. Her story begins before her paws even touch the ground. Her mom, Barbie, was pregnant when she was rescued from a chilly outdoor Kentucky shelter, granting Midge a second chance before her life began. In every wag of her tail and every gentle kiss, Midge's journey reflects the lifetime of love her mother has provided and the human kindness she has always known. The Blue Heeler breed is renowned for its unwavering loyalty and energy. Blue Heelers like Midge are intelligent and athletic, making them steadfast companions and cherished family members. Midge would thrive in an active family with a fenced backyard. Midge, her mama, and her siblings, Allen and Skipper, adore life in NJ. But Midge's journey is far from complete. While she's received the care she needs to thrive and is up to date on her age-appropriate vaccinations, she's still searching for that missing piece—a family to call her own. Apply to adopt her today at peace4paws.org using a laptop or computer. If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Meet Barbie, a one-and-a-half-year-old Blue Heeler with a big heart. Barbie was found as a stray and brought to a cold outdoor Kentucky shelter while pregnant with puppies. Peace4paws stepped in and got her into the care of a vet. With the support of humans by her side, Barbie welcomed her litter into the world. Now, as her pups grow and prepare to embark on their own adventures, Barbie is ready to find her forever home. She's proven herself to be loving and patient, good with dogs of all sizes, and adores the presence of young kids. In her foster home, she's been known to romp and play with toys, enjoying the simple joys of home life. She's incredibly cuddly and snuggly—what's not to love?  Barbie shares her space with cats in her foster home, she mostly ignores them, though the occasional chase might catch her interest.  To apply, visit www.peace4paws.org using a laptop or computer. If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Meet Rex, a 10-month-old 45-pound three-legged Blue Heeler with a heart of gold. Rex has already shown himself to be a true gentleman. His energy levels are well-balanced, making him lively and spirited without being overwhelming. He has a special affinity for children and thrives in their company. While Rex hasn't had much interaction with other dogs, he displays a friendly demeanor and is eager to make new friends. Rex's journey to finding his forever home has not been easy. He and his beloved owner were involved in a car accident where Rex survived, but his owner tragically lost his life. In the accident, Rex's back leg was severely injured and had to be amputated. Since then, Rex has been under the loving care of a vet whom he showers with love.  Though he may not exhibit all the typical herding tendencies of his breed, Rex's loyalty knows no bounds. He has already formed a deep bond with the humans caring for him and is sure to shower love and affection on whoever provides him with a caring home. Despite the challenges he has faced, Rex is ready to embark on a new chapter of his life. He will soon arrive in New Jersey, neutered and up to date on vaccines, ready to become a beloved member of a loving family. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Rex, consider applying for adoption today at www.peace4paws.org.
