Story
Shadow is only about 25 pounds, but don't let that fool you. He can tumble and play with the big dogs. He loves to play rough, but then loves to cuddle and get kisses. He doesn't mind cats, either. While his dad is supposedly a corgi, he does not have stubby legs or the build of one. We don't know what mom was. If you'd like to meet Shadow, please fill out an application at www.bigdsbigdogrehab.com.

Story
Jack is a high-energy, lovable goofball who will be your best friend after some good belly rubs. Our family adopted him three years ago from a local rescue and although he is very reactive and nips frequently we were able to work around his quirks. We are trying to rehome due to his aggression towards my elderly grandparents who have recently moved in and the need to keep him constantly crated when we are not home with them. He is ok around other dogs after getting to know them and would do best in a home without too many people as he tends to become protective of one person as most heelers do. Even at 7 years old he is HIGH ENERGY and NEEDS to be in home where he will get plenty of exercise and freedom to be his wild and silly self.

Story
Banjo is a 1.5 year old Australian Cattle Dog/American Eskimo Dog mix. At 45 lbs, he is the perfect size and a very well trained boy! Banjo is fully house trained and crate trained, quietly resting overnight and waiting patiently in the mornings. He willingly enters his crate when requested. Banjo is a loving angel with his family, gets along well with other dogs, and is great on the leash. He understands which items are his to chew, does not damage household belongings, and is a clean dog with minimal shedding. True to his breed, he is active and athletic. He enjoys playing fetch and is intelligent, thriving on engaging activities. He knows many commands and is very trainable. Banjo does struggle with meeting new people and is looking for a home without a lot of visitors coming and going. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Rocky’s story began when he was found in a very rural front yard—hungry, alone, but unbelievably sweet from the very first moment. He was taken to the local small town shelter for safety, but an experienced foster took one look at his sweet face and knew this boy needed more than a shekter kennel. She saw something special in him… and she was right. Rocky is a smart and striking 5-month-old Red Heeler mix, about 24 pounds, with the most adorable freckles and an expression that melts hearts instantly. He is affectionate and loves to snuggle just as much as he loves to run and play outside. Rocky enjoys his chew toys and, like most puppies, may occasionally snag a sock or blanket—but he’s doing wonderfully learning what’s his and what’s not. He does great in his crate, is progressing nicely with house training, and is eager to please. He plays well with other dogs and has been around cats in his foster home—curious but respectful, never aggressive. Rocky responds well to gentle verbal correction and truly wants to do the right thing. And when he wakes up? He has the sweetest little yawn that will make you smile every single time. This loving, highly intelligent puppy is ready to grow into a loyal, lifelong companion. If you’re looking for a best friend who will stick by your side for years to come, Rocky may be your perfect match. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting Rocky. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 1, 2026, 12:09 pm

Story
Out on a quiet country road in rural Tennessee, a tiny red dog stood guard over her six fragile, four-week-old puppies. Dumped without care and left to face the unthinkable, this brave little momma did the only thing she knew to do — she protected her babies with everything she had.   That beautiful girl is Red Sedona.   By what can only be described as a miracle, a kind passerby spotted the small family huddled together and stopped. Carefully lifting them into the truck, momma and babies rode to safety on the floorboard, leaving behind a fate that could have ended so differently. Because of that moment of compassion, Red Sedona and her six puppies were given a second chance.   At just 25 pounds, Red Sedona is a petite Red Heeler with a delicate frame and the most soulful eyes. She may be small, but her heart is mighty. She fiercely protected her puppies on that roadside, somehow keeping them safe from harm. And now, with her babies out of danger, her gentle and affectionate nature is shining through. She is one of the sweetest little girls you could ever meet — tender, devoted, and incredibly smart.   Sedona has been a remarkable mother, attentive and loving, always watching over her babies as if she would step in front of anything to keep them safe. She is good with other dogs, young, and ready to start the next chapter of her life. Once her milk has dried up a bit more, she will be spayed and ready for her forever home around March 10th.   Her six puppies — four boys and two girls — will also be ready for loving homes soon. This little family deserves Heeler-savvy homes that understand the loyalty, intelligence, and devotion this breed is known for.   Red Sedona has done her job. She saved her babies. Now it’s her turn to be cherished, protected, and loved for the rest of her life.   If you feel called to welcome Momma Red Sedona or one of her precious puppies into your home, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   Let’s make sure this brave little girl’s story ends the way it should — safe, loved, and finally home.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 28, 2026, 11:20 pm
