Story
Dot is a very affectionate girl but is very nervous when meeting for the first time, she tends to be vocal but has not been aggressive. She is better with women than men. She is higher energy and would make a great running buddy. She also loves to play ball or with other dogs but may need a patient friend since she still has a lot of puppy in her and can play a little rough. She has not been around small dogs or cats. We believe Dot is either a kelpie or Belgian malinois mix. She is extremely smart and willing to learn.  Email us with any questions you may have RockABullyAF@hotmail.com or visit RockABullyAF.org to apply. Dot is heartworm negative, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, spayed and ready to find her perfect forever family! She is not currently available for out of state adoption.  ##1395576##

Story
This sweet old man is looking for the perfect family to call his own. Stallone came to us from HCAS in 2021 when he was brought in a stray suffering from a gun shot wound to one of his back legs and was unable to use it. The doctors was afraid he wouldn’t be able to use that leg with all the damage it endured. But with some TLC he showed us just how strong he was and regained use of the leg! What he endured caused him to suffer from severe anxiety but with some proper guidance he was able to over come it! This old man is such a huge cuddle bug, he likes going on hikes, swimming, and did we mention cuddle? ? Stallone can be shy at first but let him fall in love with you and it’s game over! When he loves, he loves extra hard! He is is extremely good with children of all ages and other dogs - he is so laid back! If you ever wanted a chill companion with the occasional spurts of adventure - Stallone is your guy!

These pups are in League City, Texas too!

Story
Goose Goose the Moose is a sweet, lovable, and (once you gain his trust) faithful and protective companion. But.... (there's always a but), he does have issues. Namely doggie PTSD. Goose needs to be in an environment where he has firm discipline (not abuse) and direction. He is extremely intelligent (one of the smartest dogs I've seen in a very long time) and learns oh so quickly, but that intelligence needs to be focused with positive behavioral re-enforcement (not negative consequences or abusive punishment). Anyone who thinks PTSD has any sort of quick fix with choke chains or shock collars is delusional. Goose's behavioral modifications and adaptations will take time (maybe even years), patience, consistency, and love but the biggest part of all of this is trust. Without trust, any type of behavioral training will eventually fail. Some of the symptoms he exhibits when not in a positively focused environment include extreme anxiety (constant pacing/panting), fearfulness of new surroundings and sounds (not normal decompression fear but heightened to the point of almost being phobic), rapid aggression responses without a specific trigger, hyper-vigilance (that's where that "trust factor comes in), and a type of clinginess (Velcro dog) that can be overwhelming, just to name a few. Anyone taking Goose into their home must understand that this big muttley is not your average pooch: he is so far above average and needs a handler who can help him focus his potential. Since he loves to run, Goose would do very well in a large suburban or rural type setting with a fenced yard or field (for his sense of security - he will work in an open area, but the slightest fear trigger will set him back days or possibly weeks), and a buddy (human) who has the time to dedicate to this wonderful big guy. A doggie companion would be ok (with proper introduction), but there must be considerations for a companion dog, as well (temperament, age, size, gender, etc. - Little Bit is actually his very best buddy). Even with only a dedicated human partner, he will do just fine. Housebroken, neutered, heart worm negative and fully vaccinated, Goose is ready to move on to his forever home. The perfect home I envision for Goose is a young, single (or couple) outdoors type who can take Goose on adventures (slowly acclimating) like hiking or camping, letting him live his fullest possible life. Despite his high intellect, Goose's issues may preclude him from being trained for activities such as hunting or retrieving, but he would be a prime candidate for agility training (we are currently working on the basics of this through play therapy) and maybe even search and rescue. Whatever Goose's future holds, anyone brining him into their pack would be gaining a loyal and faithful companion for life. Note: The above bio on the dog reflects the behavior we have observed in the dog's foster home. We provide adopters current information on our dogs; we cannot guarantee they will behave in the same manner in a different environment with new owners. Since they are rescue dogs we guess breed of looks. Our adoption fees vary, according to species, size, age and other issues. Discounts apply in some cases. Our adoption fee covers dewormed, heartworm tested (if over 6 months), started on heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, vaccinated for bordetella, dhppv, rabies (if age appropriate) and microchipped as well as spay/neuter at our preapproved vets. All puppies not altered due to age will under a foster to adopt contract until completed and an additional deposit of $100 will be required- deposit will be refunded upon completion of surgery. We expect our dogs to be adopted by families who understand- these are rescue dogs, they will need time to decompress, routine and stability. We put our lives into saving these dogs- we expect their new families to be prepared for a lifetime commitment before applying- dogs are not recyclable. Please do not send an email inquiring about a dog. Please fill out the adoption application found at https://www.rangersreach.org/ We are 100% volunteer ran we try as hard as we can to get through applications as fast as possible. If we spend all our time answering inquires and emails, we have no time to look over applications. Please do not apply until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. We do not hold dogs for any reason. We do try to be fair and go in the order applications are received. If no response, decision or adoption is made we must move on to the next application. Applying for a dog does not guarantee that you will receive that dog. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE HAVE NO BRICK AND MORTAR LOCATION-- WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE, ALL DOGS ARE IN PRIVATE FOSTER HOMES. If we if we think your home might be a good fit, we will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application. We do check references, use social media, been verified, do phone interview/emails, and home check will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.
