Story
We believe Bluebell is a lovable, goofy Kelpie mix who’s on a journey to a healthier life! Bluebell came to us a year ago in a morbidly obese state weighing 72 lbs. Bluebell is making fantastic progress, and is close to her ideal weight at 40lbs.  Bluebell’s sweet and playful nature truly shines. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, loves people and has a heart full of love to share. Her exact breed mix remains a bit of a mystery, but her Kelpie-like appearance adds to her unique charm. Bluebell was adopted in November 2024 in January she experienced a seizure and her family felt they were unable to continue her care.since her return Bluebell has been seizure free but we have maintained her on a regular medication schedule. This medication is inexpensive and may not be needed for life. We believe she is 5-6 years old and otherwise healthy. Her seizure could have been a single event due to eating something, but we will likely never know for sure. This sweet girl would love to bring her family all the joy she has, and she hopes this minor medical event won't stop someone from loving her. Bluebell is ready to bring joy and laughter to a loving home that will support her continued weight loss journey and appreciate her delightful personality. Are you ready to welcome this bundle of love into your life?   ##2464115##

LOVES TO SNUGGLE AND GET OODLES OF ATTENTION  Estimated DOB 3/25/24, weight 40 lbs. This young girl Calliope is very sweet and playful, and has energy to spare!  Her foster home has several dogs and Calliope wants to play -- er -- wrestle with all of them.  She loves to go on walks, meet new people, play with her stuffed animal toys, and snuggle on the couch for movie time. Calliope was abandoned in the parking lot of a PetSmart but fortunately, her future foster mom worked at the store and scooped her right up! Calliope knows Sit and Wait, and likes to sleep in her crate at night.   Calliope would love a home where she can get lots of attention and exercise as well as have a canine brother or sister to play with.  Is that you? HOPE ID D24-1116-0045 Calliope's $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas. Story
Meet Kiwi, a young shelter dog brimming with energy and affection. Despite her shyness, she`s incredibly friendly and loves to play. Kiwi weighs 31 pounds and is also quite cuddly, often seeking a warm lap to snuggle on. Her jumpy and needy nature makes her very attentive and alert, always ready to engage happily in activities or quietly relax by your side. Kiwi would make a perfect companion for anyone looking for a loyal and loving friend to bring joy and playfulness into their home. She has no experience with children but enjoys playing with her siblings. She is very interested in the other shelter dogs. She needs help with her leash walking skills but might already know a bit about house training. Please be patient with her. Adopt sweet Kiwi today and experience the boundless love she has to offer! Story
I have raised Haiku (Australian Kelpie was mistaken for a German Shepherd mix) since he was a puppy and he is now 5 years. Our family has consisted of myself, 21 year old son who is living independently, 17 and 14 year old daughters, and 1 year old son. Haiku sunbathes in front of windows, has stood guard over my son as an infant, does not jump on furniture, and waits in front of the door to tell you he needs to potty. He has done well around my brothers dog that is an 11 year old German shepherd, my friends dog that is a 7 year old small Japanese service dog, and my son and his girlfriends large breed poodle puppy. Because of unforseen circumstances with moving, I need to re home Haiku. He deserves a loving home to go to. October 2023 he had his shots.

Story
Meet Jingle! 🐾 Jingle is a sweet young (appx 2 years old) Collie mix girl with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. She’s spayed, up-to-date on her vet care, and currently living in a foster home with 5 other playful pups, two cats, and a young child. Jingle gets along well with other dogs, but she’d also be happy as the only pup in a quieter home or with a small, calm pack—large or loud environments can be a bit much for her. A peaceful home where someone is around most of the day would be her dream! She thrives with calm, patient people who understand that trust takes time, especially with men, but once you earn her love, she’s incredibly loyal and affectionate. She’s curious about cats—she might give chase, but it’s all in play, not aggression. Jingle loves being home with her people most of all, and she's happiest when she's included in the daily rhythm of life. This clever girl is crate trained, doing great with her leash manners, and she loves agility activities in the backyard! With a little encouragement, she could shine in agility sports. She’s also a top-notch package alert system—she takes her job as home protector seriously (but not aggressively!). A few quirks to know about Jingle: • She can get car sick if riding in a crate, but does fine buckled into a seat. • She’s an occasional escape artist—a fully fenced yard is a must, and a GPS tracker on her collar would be a smart addition. • Her recall needs work, so leash walks and secure outdoor time are key. • She recently started anxiety medication, and it's helped her tremendously. A calm home may alleviate the need for medication. If you’re looking for a loyal, smart, and loving companion who just needs a little patience and a calm environment to thrive, Jingle might be your perfect match. 🐶💕 📍Apply to adopt Jingle: www.houstoncollierescue.org

Story
Lily is an 18 month old Collie / Australian Cattle Dog mix who loves learning with her person! At just 41 lbs, she is agile, fine boned, and petite with velvety-soft short fur and the sweetest eyes. Lily would prefer a home without cats and small animals. She would like to be the only object of her person’s affection, or have a dog friend who is bigger than her and doesn’t mind some rough-and-tumble play at times. She likes to rule the roost, but will accept redirection from dogs who are larger than her. Lily loves to sit in your lap, but won’t smother you with kisses. She just wants to be close to you. Since Lily is 50% Cattle Dog, she is very intelligent but also cautious of new situations, choosing to observe and settle in with her person rather than burst into the room with gusto. She is enrolled with AKC Canine Partners which means she can use her excellent brain to compete in a variety of AKC events. She has even already started Scent Work training! Lily is so smart, she knows how to open some gates and wire crates to let her friends out to play with her, or get the remaining tidbits of food they left over. A simple clip keeps that from happening. Lily is crate trained, but instead sleeps in a doggie-safe room at night and while unsupervised. She walks well on a leash and sticks close to her person. She prefers treats over toys (especially those with stuffing…she operates on them quite quickly!) and is very food motivated. Her current family will help make the transition successful and give you tips on keeping Lily’s mind sharp and engaged. Ready for a loving companion who will watch a movie with you, but also get you off your feet to train and play? Apply to adopt Lily at houstoncollierescue.org.
