Story
Peggy is a 7 year old sweet, energetic and fun dog. She makes a great companion, just needs to be walked on a daily basis. She would do best at a home as a single dog, please do not apply if you are looking for a 2nd or 3rd furry friend since we are only considering her for homes that want 1 dog only.Looking for a home that will give her the attention she needs. Great with kids!

Story
We have to rehome him because he bit a family member and they didn’t want to take any risks and gave him to the pound. It didn’t break skin. Because of his skittishness and anxiousness he wouldn’t let anyone touch him and they were going to put him down. I saved him, however I have a 14 mo old and don’t have the time to work with him as I work full time. He’s not inherently aggressive just can get nervous/scared when new people come into the house. Out on walks he does better, but doesn’t like if someone comes up. Doesn’t bark that much on walks though. He hasn’t bit a stranger or anyone that comes into the house. Just barks and growls sometimes. He definitely likes to have his set people. He didn’t get the basic training he needs and someone who knows Aussies I think he will thrive. He has more behavioral fear aggression. I’m sure with the right training, possibly getting on Prozac and more attention he will do great. He’s really sweet and super smart under his anxiousness

Bear is a wonderful dog and needs attention which we are not able to give him as we are traveling several months out of the year. He’s a beautiful, smart dog that would thrive best with an active owner and a big yard.

Story
Hi, I’m Shadow. I’m a 3½yearold, 33pound Australian Shepherd blend who likes to ease into new friendships. I’m a quiet, observant and happy fella when I can take my time deciding when to step forward. Once I feel safe, I greet my people with soft enthusiasm and a gentle tail wag that says I’m glad you’re here. Favorite Things: Shadow enjoys cozy blankets, calm spaces and the freedom to relax without pressure. He’s not much of a toy fan and prefers doing his own thing, but once he’s comfortable, he settles nearby with quiet contentment. Training and Manners: He is house trained with regular outdoor breaks. Shadow walks nicely on a leash, rides politely in the car and sleeps in his dog bed at night. He’s still learning some basic manners, but he responds well to patient guidance. When left alone, he’s trustworthy; he simply gathers a blanket or two to build the perfect nap spot. Health and Care: Shadow is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines. He’ll need monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Regular brushing keeps his coat comfortable and helps him feel his best. Other Animals: He does well with dogs of all sizes and thrives in a home with more outgoing dogs that can help him with his confidence. His ideal home would have another dog to keep him company. He hasn’t met cats yet, but his calm nature suggests he may do fine with a slow introduction. Children: Shadow hasn’t lived with kids before. He should do well with older, dogsavvy children (10+) who understand his demeanor. Ideal Home: He would do well in an apartment, condo or townhome with regular outings. Shadow thrives in a quiet, predictable home with patient people who understand shy dogs. He doesn’t enjoy being approached directly, but when given space, he chooses connection on his own terms. Overall: Shadow is a gentle, introverted companion who blossoms slowly but deeply. He’s independent, lowkey and easy to live with, especially for someone who appreciates a calm, observant dog. Once he trusts you, he greets you with genuine warmth and settles into your life just as his name promises softly, steadily and always close by. Could Shadow be the one you’ve been looking for? Then head to www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like a match, his foster family will contact you. His adoption donation is $400. ##2623466##

Story
Gemini Zod is a charismatic Aussie mix with a unique blend of charm and energy. This adorable pup came to us initially shy and scared, but it took just a couple of days for him to reveal the true star within. Gemini Zod has transformed into an outgoing and charismatic companion. His big personality shines through, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Gemini Zod enjoys an extremely active lifestyle. His love for walking, chasing after a ball, and indulging in some bone-chewing sessions is truly delightful to witness. But the real show-stopper is when he decides it's time for zoomies – his playful sprints and twists are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. Gemini Zod is seeking a home that appreciates his lively spirit and is ready to provide the love and engagement he craves.  HE IS EXTREMELY PEOPLE SELECTIVE AND MUST GO TO A VERY EXPERIENCED ADOPTER. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Adoption fee is $450 and you can adopt me at WWW.POLKADOGZ.ORG ##2048458##
