Story
Kiki and Kitsune, named after the animals we resembled when we were saved. Kiki after a coyote name, I mean... look at my ears :) And Kitsune is a fox name, I looked like a little fox when I was saved!! Us girls are sweet and loving and happy with people we know, but you can't blame us for being nervous with new people- we were found abandoned in a field in the deep valley of TX with our dead mother and siblings in a trash bag with us........................ So yes, we are nervous with new people but honestly- new people are only new for a day or two- then you are OUR peeps!! We do not have to be adopted together, but our story is the same so we will share it together... We came to the rescue absolutely petrified but geez, our foster mama was so nice and fed us wonderful food and we were loving on her quickly. So glad to be safe, fed and loved! Now we are preparing for our families and that must be you! We are both gorgeous girls, Kitsune has grown to almost her sister's size, so both are looking to be large full grown pups. Local adoption only so they can meet your families and you can get to know them too! ADOPT...DON'T SHOP!!! SO MANY LIVES DEPEND ON IT!! Local adoption is $250 each (in TX)

Story
Scout is a 11-month-old male Australian shepherd mix boy looking for his forever home. Scout is inquisitive and full of life. He would love for a family that is active that continue his training as he loves to learn new tricks. He would be great size and energy level for someone looking for a dog that would excel in dog sports (agility, rally, fast cat and so many others!) Scout can get a bit overstimulated at times and is learning to redirect any mouthy behavior on his toys instead of people. Because of this, we believe Scout would do best in a home with older children or adults that are committed to continue his ongoing training. He has met other dogs here at the shelter and has gotten along with them well. Visit the shelter during our Animal Viewing hours below to meet and apply to adopt Stunning Scout boy. Location: Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center 8576 Davis Rd Columbia, MD 21045 You can call first to see if this pet is still available: 410-313-2780 Option 0. DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Penny is 2yo, weighs 50lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped.  Penny dislikes/fears the dark and loud noises; she LOVES car rides !  Penny's guardian have spent a considerable amount of time and money to determine the underlying reason for Penny's sudden onset without success.  She and her canine sibling are currently in a training program from which they'll graduate 1 March; Penny is learning how to properly walk on leash, sit, down, stay, and place.  Although she's doing well, Penny attacked her canine sibling again recently, which prompted her guardian to keep them separated.  Penny's guardian adds:   "When she’s with just my husband or me, she’s content.  But, she is much more content and visibly happy at training & doggy daycare because she’s active.  We have 2 dogs in addition to Penny that we had before we adopted her - a 9yo lab and the 3yo lab.  Our jobs are very demanding, and it was always fine that the dogs had a more chill lifestyle until recently.  It is not fair to Penny to have to be crated or in another room because she can’t get along with our other dog anymore.  We want her to be able to run freely, be as active as she possibly can.  We are heartbroken, and this is the toughest decision we’ve ever had to make.  But in the end, it’s about her happiness and quality of life that matters most." Penny's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  Although Penny and one of her canine siblings were the best of friends, Penny has inexplicably attacked and bitten her a few times since December 2023.   Lunge/Attack/Bite Incidents:  Since December in 2023, in Hollywood, MD, Penny has attacked and bitten one of her canine sibling without provocation; the bite broke the skin, animal control was not involved and veterinary treatment was not necessary.  Penny's guardian explains:  "Penny lunged at and attacked our other dog.  Our other dog ended up with a gsh in her ear, chest, and bit marks on her front leg.  They were not severe, so we cleaned them up and they're healing." Penny's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Penny hasn't lived with children, her guardian recommends her living with children, stating "Penny loves our two young nieces and nephew.  She is gentle with them, lays next to them, and loves when they play with her". Penny's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Penny lives with two dogs, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating "Prior to the first incident in December, we never had any issues with Penny and our dogs.  They were all the best of friends, played great together, slept on top of each other, drank out of the water bowl together, truly inseparable.  We have never had any issues with Penny with our neighbors' dogs, dogs at the vet, or groomer". Penny's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Penny lives with a cat, so her guardian recommends Penny living with cats, stating "Penny and our cat are best friends". Penny's guardian describes her as follows: Very active Couch potato Playful Friendly Fence Jumper Likes to be touched Affectionate Independent Protective Always at your side Indoor dog House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Penny's guardian described her ideal future home: "Penny would truly thrive in an active home.  Going on multiple daily walks, playing outside, going for frequent car rides, going to different parks or beaches, running and playing freely.  She would benefit from a fenced yard with lots of room for her to run and play." Rehoming Fee:  $200 Location:  Hollywood, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1. If you are interested in ADOPTING me, please CLICK HERE:  ADOPT ME 2. When your application is received, a Placement Manager will do a basic screening. Applications will be forwarded to the owner for further screening and continuation in the adoption process.  3. If it has been longer than that, please email:  rescuewellrehome@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE: We provide ALL of the information we have on this pet, here on this page, in its entirety from the pet's owner. Ophelia is a super sweet, gorgeous dog who adores people. She's great with other dogs (but could also be on her own). She is housebroken and smart. She would thrive in a training class as she's an eager learner. She is @40 lbs and we estimate 2 years old. Aussies generally make excellent watchdogs and are known for their playful and affectionate natures.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 19, 2023, 12:13 am

Story
12 week old Opal is SUCH a little love! She loves to be carried around, and she has a big personality for a small puppy. She comes to your legs and stands up to be picked up. She likes to run after your legs chasing you. She likes squeaky toys and rope pull toys. She isn’t a licker, but likes to look her people in the eyes and will nose touch to your face! She’s a wild one when she’s running around on the floor, but instantly calms down as soon as she’s picked up and just sits there! She’s great with her foster’s 2 and 6 year old grandchildren - they have held her and played with her without any issues! She doesn’t have any resource guarding issues with food or toys. She’s also starting to get the hang of house training with pads until she’s able to go outside (in a couple weeks when she’s fully vaccinated & fully protected against parvo). We believe she may be a mini Aussie, she’s just a petite girl at about 7-8 pounds. Guessing she will be around 20-30 pounds when she is fully grown, but no guarantees as we don’t know her exact breed makeup. This girl is SO precious and any family would be SO lucky to have her!!   DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake. ***MOST OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).   Our adoption fee is $500 plus health certificate and transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (additional $12.99 registration fee required at time of adoption), fecal analysis, spay/neuter for dogs 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. If dog is under 6 months, then $100 of adoption fee is refunded when mandatory spay/neuter is proven to be completed at 6 months of age. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport.   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application below: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57837/generic ##2018622##

Story
Meet Kash, a energetic and lovable dog with a zest for life! Kash is a ball of energy, so much so that he is a behavior consultation before finding his forever home. Kash is a silly young pup who adores rope toys, but nothing compares to his LOVE for BALLS. These balls aren't just toys; they're integral to his training sessions, which he thoroughly enjoys. Kash is educated in basic cues like sit, down, and paw He is always eager to expand his repertoire. He's a quick learner and thrives on mental stimulation, making him a perfect candidate for continued training. In fact, he's particularly fond of the agility course, where he can put his boundless energy to good use. Kash has a history of getting along well with both dogs and cats, often engaging in playful sessions with his furry companions. However, due to his exuberance, he's recommended for households with older children who can match his energy levels. This enthusiastic pup is crate trained and housebroken, but he thrives best when sticking to a routine, especially when it comes to bathroom breaks. With his lively personality and willingness to learn, Kash is sure to bring endless joy and excitement to any family lucky enough to welcome him into their home.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Kage, the ultimate good boy who's just so darn cute! This gentleman is a pro at house living, fully potty trained, and a master at walking on a leash and harness. He's a social butterfly, getting along famously with other dogs and loving those backyard playdates with his pals. Kage is a stunning mix of Lab and Border Collie, the perfect blend of intelligence and family-friendliness. He's just the right size, like a mini Lab or a slightly larger Border Collie. When you find two fantastic things that go together like peanut butter and jelly, you celebrate! Kage is that winning combo, and now you can celebrate by making him a cherished member of your family. His temperament is pure gold - sweet as honey with everyone he meets. Now, here's the scoop: Kage is a special needs pup, and he's looking for someone who can be with him about 90 percent of the time. Storms, rain, and loud noises send him into severe panic attacks, and he's been known to chew through walls when anxiety strikes. Crates aren't his jam because of past storm-related trauma. He's also dealing with seizures, so he's on medication for that. Kage would thrive in a local adoption, and he's best as a single dog with no cats or small animals around. He's a wonderful companion for older kids, and he loves nothing more than cuddles and long walks. He's got the whole house training thing down too. His foster mom adores him and has prepared him for his forever family as best she can. Now, the ball is in your court. Remember, when you adopt Kage, you're not just bringing home a good boy; you're giving him the loving, understanding home he deserves. Don't shop, adopt, because Kage's life depends on it! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

I am ready for adoption! I am ready for you! I am ready to live my forever life with my forever family :) ADOPT.... DON'T SHOP!!! MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!
