Story
Update from her foster mom: She is a great pup & will make a loyal companion. She is my shadow in the house! She is very affectionate, curious, sweet & playful. LOVES playing with our other dogs.LOVES toys & chew bones. She is very food motivated & smart- & thus easy to train. Still working on house training (that is more our fault than hers) but getting better, comes when called, sits on command, knows “crate” (& is very good in her crate). Alrighty, who is ready for some adventure? This gorgeous girl for sure! Meet Summer! She is a young mixed breed, maybe 12 months, and currently about 25-30 lbs. She has gorgeous med. hair with brindle coloring, a nubby tail, and beautiful brown eyes! Her vet records say Australian Shepherd mix. She certainly has the body size, energy, and friendly disposition. She really warms up to all people and dogs nicely. She would love hikes, maybe agility, or maybe even herding classes? How ever you choose to engage with Summer, I’m sure she will excel, she is motivated to please you! We prefer to place her in a home with a securely enclosed back yard, no toddlers, or cats. (Herding children is not looked upon favorably. 😉) If you are interested in adopting Summer who is already microchipped, spayed, tested, crate-trained, and on preventions, just email me to request an adoption application at : marysmutts05@gmail.com.

Story
Poky is ready for his very own forever home he's only a few months old and already doing really well with potty training. He's allowed to free roam with our Dogs when we aren't home, he uses pee pads while we are at work and uses the doggie door when we are home. We would love a fur sibling to tire him out. He's very food motivated and could easily be trained by someone who knows what they're doing (not us) and he would prefer to sleep with you as he is not a fan of the crate. I'm especially attached to this little guy since we are the ones who found him he's gonna be a big boy and he will make any family really happy. God's Dogs Rescue Please ADOPT HIM so he can find his happily ever after!!!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Courtesy post: Meet Lu: A Loyal and Energetic Companion in Need of a New Home. Contact Shelby at 410-371-3883. Lu is a 6-year-old, 45-pound, smart, and loyal dog who is very sweet to the people she loves. Despite missing one of her back legs, she doesn't require any extra care and it doesn't slow her down at all. Lu loves being outside as much as possible, but she loves being around her people even more. She enjoys chasing tennis balls and playing with toys all day long. While she has lots of energy, she also likes to lounge around and nap for a good part of the day. Lu is house-trained, although she may have accidents if left alone for long periods unless she is put in her crate. Typically, she is crated when left home alone or at night if she is not confined to the bedroom. Lu is not good around new people and should be kept on a tight leash if there is a chance of her being around someone new. With the help of treats and toys, she can warm up to new people, but she does not like chaos and loud noises, so she should be kept away from children when they are playing or roughhousing. She also tries to attack cars and bikes, so she needs to be kept on a tight leash during walks. Lu gets along well with some dogs but can be aggressive toward smaller dogs. She knows her basic commands and is very smart. If you are good with training dogs and have time to work on her behaviors, she will be a loving and loyal companion. Details: Age: 6 Weight: 45 pounds (vet appointment today at 4:30 for exact weight) Location: Phoenix, Baltimore County Contact Info: Shelby 410-371-3883 Note: Lu had one bite incident where the skin was barely broken. The gentleman was wearing thick carpenter pants, which took most of the blow. Lu was adopted from a farm in the middle of nowhere, Alabama, along with her sister, who was adopted by a friend. If you think you can provide Lu with a loving home and the training she needs, please reach out to Shelby at the provided contact information. ***Disclaimer*** Unfortunately, there are not enough rooms at the inn to admit every dog that needs a furever home. DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Penny is 2yo, weighs 50lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped.  Penny dislikes/fears the dark and loud noises; she LOVES car rides !  Penny's guardian have spent a considerable amount of time and money to determine the underlying reason for Penny's sudden onset without success.  She and her canine sibling are currently in a training program from which they'll graduate 1 March; Penny is learning how to properly walk on leash, sit, down, stay, and place.  Although she's doing well, Penny attacked her canine sibling again recently, which prompted her guardian to keep them separated.  Penny's guardian adds:   "When she’s with just my husband or me, she’s content.  But, she is much more content and visibly happy at training & doggy daycare because she’s active.  We have 2 dogs in addition to Penny that we had before we adopted her - a 9yo lab and the 3yo lab.  Our jobs are very demanding, and it was always fine that the dogs had a more chill lifestyle until recently.  It is not fair to Penny to have to be crated or in another room because she can’t get along with our other dog anymore.  We want her to be able to run freely, be as active as she possibly can.  We are heartbroken, and this is the toughest decision we’ve ever had to make.  But in the end, it’s about her happiness and quality of life that matters most." Penny's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  Although Penny and one of her canine siblings were the best of friends, Penny has inexplicably attacked and bitten her a few times since December 2023.   Lunge/Attack/Bite Incidents:  Since December in 2023, in Hollywood, MD, Penny has attacked and bitten one of her canine sibling without provocation; the bite broke the skin, animal control was not involved and veterinary treatment was not necessary.  Penny's guardian explains:  "Penny lunged at and attacked our other dog.  Our other dog ended up with a gsh in her ear, chest, and bit marks on her front leg.  They were not severe, so we cleaned them up and they're healing." Penny's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Penny hasn't lived with children, her guardian recommends her living with children, stating "Penny loves our two young nieces and nephew.  She is gentle with them, lays next to them, and loves when they play with her". Penny's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Penny lives with two dogs, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating "Prior to the first incident in December, we never had any issues with Penny and our dogs.  They were all the best of friends, played great together, slept on top of each other, drank out of the water bowl together, truly inseparable.  We have never had any issues with Penny with our neighbors' dogs, dogs at the vet, or groomer". Penny's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Penny lives with a cat, so her guardian recommends Penny living with cats, stating "Penny and our cat are best friends". Penny's guardian describes her as follows: Very active Couch potato Playful Friendly Fence Jumper Likes to be touched Affectionate Independent Protective Always at your side Indoor dog House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Penny's guardian described her ideal future home: "Penny would truly thrive in an active home.  Going on multiple daily walks, playing outside, going for frequent car rides, going to different parks or beaches, running and playing freely.  She would benefit from a fenced yard with lots of room for her to run and play." DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Seamus (Seamy) is 4yr/10mos old, weighs 45lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  Seamy's guardian adds:   "Seamy (shaymee) has been with my family since he was 8 weeks old and has been very loved.  He is well cared for with annual visits to the vet and regular grooming.  We trust him completely with my children, now ages 15/18/21.  He went to 1 year of training and is extremely bright and loves to learn, plays dead, sits, waits, down, goes between my legs, has great recall etc.  I walk him about 3 miles every day and he walks well.  Due to his anxiety, he is reactive to other dogs, people, bikes, etc. on walks.  Therefore, when I see these distractions on walks, I immediately start using the word YES (my word of recognizing a positive behavior and a contract to give him treats).  He knows to look at me and he will get a treat, in fact I have to treat him relatively rapidly to get past the distraction.  This has helped tremendously and our walks are very enjoyable.  He is PERFECT when we are just home with him.  He has great house manners. Seamy's biggest issues are the front door and guests.  When we try to crate him when visitors come, he will bark and struggles to calm down.  He will not take a licky mat or frozen kong in this state.  We have a lot of people in and out of my house and he stays in a state of anxiety.  It is very hard on him and in turn on us.  He does fine with my golden retriever but struggles with other dogs. Seamy is rarely home alone during the day; my husband works from home, but to be honest, he doesn't give Seamy much attention.  I am the main caretaker of Seamy.  He dislikes/fears people at the front door and change.  During the day he can be in the crate, we have tried that more.  But, mostly, he's on the sofa.  He sleeps in our room or my daughter's bed.  During car rides, he gets anxious, but has taken long road trips." Seamy's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him: "I know he would be happier with a home that doesn't have visitors coming and going all the time and preferably someone that likes to train or walk dogs.  I would love to find him a home where he can be happier and live in a calmer state." Scratch incident:  In October 2023, Seamy scratched a teenaged visitor; the scratch broke the skin; animal control was involved; formal medical attention was not sought.  Seamy's guardian explains:   "The child came in the door and Seamy got anxious.  I was not there, and the girl's knee was scratched and bled.  She needed a band aid.  I called the mother and everything was worked out.  We called vet and got him on some prozac for anxiety and now he is either on a leash or in the crate when people come in the house." Seamy's guardian offers a brief medical history:  "He struggles with anxiety and is currently taking 40mg of Prozac, although I'm not sure that is the correct dosage or medicine."   Seamy's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Seamy has lived with 3 children, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with children, stating "He gets nervous, but he gets anxious with new people.  My cousin's little kids cannot run around with Seamy.  He gets too activated".   Seamy's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Seamy lives with a dog, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with dogs, stating "Seamy does well with my golden who is 9, but not great with other dogs".   Seamy's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Since Seamy hasn't lived with nor otherwise been around cats, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats. Seamy's guardian describes him as: Very active Friendly Affectionate Fearful Indoor Only Pet Nervous House-Trained Crate-Trained Seamy's guardian describes his ideal future home: "A home where people like to train or walk a dog, but doesn't have a lot of visitors or other pets.  He is a great companion, but because we have teenagers in and out and friends over all the time it keeps him in an anxious state.  Land might be nice too.  Patient and kind, he does not deal well with negative parenting, he does much better with a patient calm response." You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If Ziva could talk, oh, the adventures she could share !!! Rescued from the streets of Afghanistan by a wonderful organization........https://www.kabulsmallanimalrescue.com/........Ziva recently came over to the United States as part of a large airlift with 200 lucky dogs and 100 equally lucky cats. Animals are often not treated well in the Middle East and Ziva was one of the lucky ones to be found and live with this amazing group, KSAR, until enough funds were raised to charter a plane and an airlift arranged . Ziva was a little shy initially, but has blossomed into a happy social pup....... Since we don't know what her past life was, we would suggest a home with older children only but she is great with dogs! Cats are an unknown right now. I'm flexible on the rehoming timeframe and maybe if I get a different job in a few years maybe I can ask to get her back, but for now I believe this is the best life for her.

Story
Meet Kage, the ultimate good boy who's just so darn cute! This gentleman is a pro at house living, fully potty trained, and a master at walking on a leash and harness. He's a social butterfly, getting along famously with other dogs and loving those backyard playdates with his pals. Kage is a stunning mix of Lab and Border Collie, the perfect blend of intelligence and family-friendliness. He's just the right size, like a mini Lab or a slightly larger Border Collie. When you find two fantastic things that go together like peanut butter and jelly, you celebrate! Kage is that winning combo, and now you can celebrate by making him a cherished member of your family. His temperament is pure gold - sweet as honey with everyone he meets. Now, here's the scoop: Kage is a special needs pup, and he's looking for someone who can be with him about 90 percent of the time. Storms, rain, and loud noises send him into severe panic attacks, and he's been known to chew through walls when anxiety strikes. Crates aren't his jam because of past storm-related trauma. He's also dealing with seizures, so he's on medication for that. Kage would thrive in a local adoption, and he's best as a single dog with no cats or small animals around. He's a wonderful companion for older kids, and he loves nothing more than cuddles and long walks. He's got the whole house training thing down too. His foster mom adores him and has prepared him for his forever family as best she can. Now, the ball is in your court. Remember, when you adopt Kage, you're not just bringing home a good boy; you're giving him the loving, understanding home he deserves. Don't shop, adopt, because Kage's life depends on it! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

I am a smart and naughty boy, I love other dogs and pups and I love to cuddle (when I am tired of playing:) I'm a Border Collie/Lab Retriever mix and have a lot of energy you canoften find me playing rough with my puppy buds, other dogs, and people. I am growing like a weed and probably will be 60 lbs plus full grown, so must love big SMART puppies to adopt me. I am waiting for you! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
