Story
Ube is an amazing, loving doggo. We are moving across the country and are not able to take her with us. We believe a good home for Ube would either include a big backyard where she can run and play, or with someone who is active and can take her on regular long walks or runs. We also think Ube could be great at agility or similar. Uber is fully house trained, is comfortable in her crate and out of it. She loves to play fetch and ask for pets. She can can be shy with new men. Please reach out with any question! We are very hopeful to find Ube a wonderful new home.

Story
We adopted Finn about four years ago. He was found on the side of a country road with severe wounds from being shot with a pellet gun (P 4). He is a very snuggly/playful dog and great with people. We are looking to rehome him for the following reasons. We now have two kids and no longer can work from home like we did when we adopted him. He needs a good amount of attention and I think because of that lack he is starting to bark more and is becoming aggressive on walks (we do walk him with another dog and they can riel each other up). He has also been vomiting randomly for the past few years (a few times a week), this may be caused by the bullet near his throat. We have explored getting the bullet removed but were advised it would cost about $5K and the procedure could kill him or not solve the vomit issue. We have small children now and the vomit issue is not conducive to providing them with a sanitary place space in our relatively small home.

Story
In December, we took in 14 dogs from a property of 100 dogs of all ages. We still have 5 that are looking for their fur-ever homes. They had little to no exposure to humans before coming to NLOL. They have been used to only being with other dogs, not interacting in a loving way with people. When they came to our shelter, they did not understand play or toys, and had a flight response to human interaction. This behavior makes us feel that a home without small children is best for them. After months of the staff working with them and with our trainers, @Wolf Hill Kennels, it has been decided that socializing is the priority for their adjustment into companions. They will need to each be in a home with time to dedicate to their needs, growth and care. A home for these dogs will require a lot of one-on-one time to build a relationship. Some will very likely need hand feeding to gain trust along with continued efforts towards leash training, potty training, and helping them gain confidence in themselves. We know they are used to their pack; however we are not sure of how they will be with other dogs (Slow introductions and awareness of body language between them and personal pets will be imperative). We anticipate they will look to another dog for direction but don't know this for sure. Having structure and building a relationship with humans is important in their growth. Being in a home to learn how to be loved and enjoy being a dog is something they each deserve. They are spayed/neutered, microchipped, have age-appropriate vaccines, are heartworm negative, and on flea/tick & heartworm prevention. If you are willing to open your home and your heart, you can adopt one of these special pups for $150. **All New Leash on Life dogs must be adopted to families willing to have their pets be allowed inside-especially at night. No dog is allowed to be put on a "tie out" or chain outside and should be walked on a leash when not in a fenced in yard.**
