Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! He is good with children and has a sweet, loyal personality. As he has matured, he has become territorial toward our Golden Retriever, which has shown us that our home is no longer the right fit. With young children, we must prioritize safety, and while he has never shown aggression toward them, we do not want to risk that changing. We are seeking an experienced owner, preferably familiar with Australian Shepherds, who can provide structure, training, and an active lifestyle. Story
Hi, my name is Blaze, and I’m looking for my furever home! I am currently being fostered in Nashville, TN. I am an Australian Shepherd, 4 1/2 years old and weigh approximately 70 lbs. I am neutered, vetted, microchipped, and fully up-to-date on shots. I came from a family with another dog and a child, but they unfortunately moved and could not take me. I have the sweetest face and eyes. My foster mom even accidentally calls me ‘Bear’ sometimes because I can be like a big teddy bear but with gentle petting and no rough play. Sometimes the neighbors even say I look like Beethoven from the 90s movie. I may be a little distrustful of strangers at first (I might even bark), but once I know there is no danger, I just want love and to hang around my humans. I’ll follow you room-to-room, but I have no desire to get on the furniture or the bed. If you need me to go to my crate, just tell me to and I’ll do it! My favorite place to sleep is on the floor next to your bed. I know how to “sit” very well. I am a very sweet cuddlebug but I do get nervous and howl when left alone in a new place. After a few days, I’m usually good! I LOVE to go on walks, and step right into my harness with joy but because of my size, I tire out easily so I prefer short to medium-length walks. Keep working with me and I’ll get stronger! I also have trouble sometimes because my back leg and knees have some arthritis. I will benefit from some joint supplements. I’m good on a leash, but sometimes I like to chase birds! I’ve had a foster brother for the past three weeks and we tolerate each other. We do fine together, until he tries to steal my toys… then I growl at him. I’ve learned to play tug of war with my humans and I am a big fan. I’ll also enjoy chasing a ball or toy that I can bring back to you. I’d probably thrive in a home with a small family or even a single person. I’m protective, but I do love meeting new people. Agnes is an incredibly sweet girl who loves to show you her stuffies she likes to carry around in her mouth-its adorable!!! She seems good with dogs and shows interest in play but also loves to just be around people. She does seem to have an issue with larger white dogs that have a certain look (she had one be aggressive with her) but a conversation would be had about that. Other than that she seems to like most dogs! She went on a breakout over the holidays and road tripped to Florida and did amazing!!! Agnes did have a decent sized tumor on her front leg we had checked out and unfortunately it was cancerous and removed and they did not get good margins on it. She also recently developed a dislocating hawk joint so she will be seeing the specialist for that. She was also HW positive when she came to us but has now been through the entire treatment phase for that. We will keep her "coming soon" until after we know more from the specialist.February 6, 2026, 5:54 pm
