You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $ 400 plus taxBrock continues to grow into a strapping young dog each day. Brock takes a bit of time warming up to new faces either human or K9. Once he warms he is great! He is very treat motivated and smart; sit, kennel and stay are all coming along nicely and he is fully potty trained. Brock is a very playful dog who likes to play fetch with a tennis ball or frisbee and play tug-a-war with either a human or dog companion. He gets along well with his other household dog pals. At times he has too much energy for the 9 year old dog, but is getting better at recognizing social cues of when it is okay to play and when it is not. Brock snuggles and sleeps as well as he plays. He likes to get his belly rubbed and nap in the blankets. Brock sleeps in a kennel overnight but would also do well in a bed.  He is growing up in rescue, Who can be this boy's happy ever after??Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Story
Hi, I’m Riata! I’m a 5 year old mini Aussie breeder release. Because I’m a breeder release, I am very nervous around new people & places. Right now I still don’t play with other dogs, but I do take comfort in their presence. I stay quietly in my crate when my people aren’t home. In fact, I stay quiet almost all of the time! I am working telling you when I need to potty, and will need patience from my new family. I like my privacy when I’m going to the bathroom, so a fenced yard or tie out would make that easier for me. Keeping me on a schedule and using a crate or pen also helps. Kids are very loud and I’m not sure I enjoy their company quite yet. Loud noises send me running to a hiding spot. If you think you have a safe, quiet home that I could learn to be comfortable in- I’d like to meet you!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $350 plus taxMeet Lulu, her curious nature keeps her exploring, sniffing out new adventures in every corner. Lulu's intelligence is evident in her quick learning of commands and tricks, while her loyalty is unquestionable, always returning to your side. She's full of energy, making her the perfect companion for active individuals or couples. Lulu does need slower intros with other dogs. Please note, Lulu would do best in a home without children or cats. Adopting Lulu means gaining a loving, loyal friend who will fill your days with joy and activity.    Lulu would do just fine by herself. She would also be great with a fenced area. People coming in and out would take a little while for her to get used to them, but with loving family and affection it'll work. She is very quiet when there's no excitement happening. Lulu loves walking alongside or near you. Hi everyone! My name is Alexis but my foster family calls me Lexi. I’m about a 5 1/2 year old mini Aussie with a heart of gold. I can be very shy when I first meet you but will warm up quickly. I'm unsure of my foster dogs and ignores the cats completely. I am potty trained and will go to the door or pace when i need to go out. I only had one accident but my foster mom thinks it’s because I was so scared. I love being outside. I have a fenced in yard so haven’t had much experience on a leash yet. I greet people when they come to visit and love the compliments and pets i get. Unsure of how she’d handle children. I haven’t been around little kids but I don’t like loud noises so I don’t think I’d do very good. I’m a snuggle bug and will give kisses, if you ask. I will go into my kennel but I prefer to be where my people are. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Hi, I’m Moose! I’m a herding breed mix of some kind born 10/7/23! My siblings and I just moved to WI from Lake Traverse, MI! I am very energetic and always looking for a good time! I’m friendly with everyone; adults, kids, dogs. Any person I meet immediately becomes my best friend! I bark sometimes when other dogs are playing rambunctiously. I typically prefer to be cuddled up with my people. I am still learning how to go potty outside, but do well on a schedule and with using pee pads in the house. I sleep in a pen, and I am quiet at night. Leash walking seems pretty new to me still, but I’m sure I’ll catch on quickly. If you’re interested in meeting me, let me know! I’d love to meet you!  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Meet Marti! Marti is a 5 year old, neutered, double merle, male, who came to us almost completely feral. He is a slightly pudgy 40 pounds, crate trained, house broke (but still leaks a little urine when sleeping although we haven't tried medication for that yet as it has been improving). As he is double merle he has some vision issues as well. Marti will need a very special owner that is willing to give him plenty of time to learn to trust. At his foster home Marti gets along with other dogs, is great with cats, and walks off leash in a rural setting. Marti is that lower energy aussie everyone's looking for and would like a quiet home. Marti will need more training in cooperative Care which his foster is working on and is easy to implement. The details: Needs Fence: Depends on setting (needs to gain trust to be leashed, fence necessary in busier area) Good With Dogs: Yes Good With People: Needs patience Good with cats: Yes All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $300 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Aussie Rescue of MN is here for support, advice and as a safety net for our dogs for the rest of their lives.

Story
Annie is a loving and loyal pup and loves to snuggle. She loves to go on runs and hikes, or anything outside to be honest. She loves her toy Roger and her frisbee. In the summer she loves to swim in lakes, end, walks, hikes and in the winter loves to go skijoring and play in the snow. She has great recall and is excellent off leash. As much as we would love to keep her for the rest of her life she does not do well with other dogs in a house and with a new born in the house we can’t afford to risk anything. 95% of the time she’s good with our second dog but she just exhibits to much resource guarding. As I mentioned above she loved her toy Roger but we can’t bring it out anymore with the resource guarding. She needs a home that has no other dogs. She has lots of love to give and needs a family that will love her equally.

Story
Our sweet girl has lots of love and lots of energy! Unfortunately, we just can’t keep up with her exercise/stimulation needs as we live in a city house with 2 kids under 2. Since having our first kiddo, her anxiety has gotten a lot worse, and we assume this is because we can’t exercise with her as much as we used to. We think she would thrive in a home with lots of land, maybe even a farm, and it’d be a plus if there were other dogs for her to play with! She is incredible with kids of all ages - so gentle and patient. She’s protective and excitable and cuddly. We are heartbroken but know that we can’t give her what she needs anymore.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Allie, a 2019 edition of a party colored Australian Shepherd x Border Collie weighing in at 42 lbs. This beautiful gal came to NWMNAR because her previous owner had to leave abroad to help take care of in-laws and could not take Allie with. Allie loves going to obedience class and showing how smart she is. Allie needs an Aussie savy owner her can outsmart her. She is best with dogs the same size, she has prey drive towards rabbits and may not do well with cats or other smaller animals possibly including smaller tiny dogs. Allie takes time with strangers and will often back away barking. Allie has been scared of men with hats in the past. She can be a bit barky towards other dogs on walks, but has been learning to play nice. She can be dominant towards other dogs. Allie doesn't like plastic crates, but does just fine in wire crate. Allie must be crated in a vehicle otherwise she will run around in a vehicle pushing window switches until she gets out. Allie is best to go for a walk before a car ride to ensure she doesn't nervous defecate in the vehicle. Allie hies and sleeps under the bed to keep the monsters away. Allie does like to vocalize herself if she sees other dogs outside when she is peering out the windows. She has just started to play with toys and gets groomed twice a week with a brush. Allie is available for adoption. Free adoption applications can be found on our website at: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NMA/Dog. Because NWMNAR is not a public shelter, meet and greets do not take place until an application has been approved and a home visit has been completed in person or virtually. Meet and greets will take place in a public setting along with the adoption if compatible. Dogs can be met in Ada, MN or in our alternate office location in Maple Grove, Mn.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet little Bella Dawn, this beautiful 2017 edition of a Miniature Australian Shepherd came into rescue from a breeder release. Her life has been primarily living in a crate or kennel and used solely for breeding. She is now looking for a furever home where she will never have to worry about breeding again. She is learning to live the good life, plays with other dogs, keeps her kennel run clean, is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. She is learning to trust and is a little shy but coming out of her shell and wants to be loved. She is learning how to walk on a leash and learn her basic skills. Bella Dawn would love to have a home where she can be loved solely for herself and not for breeding. Free adoption applications can be found on our website at: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NMA/Dog. Story
Meet Red Raven! Red Raven is a 2022 edition of a standard Australian Shepherd. She came into NWMNAR as an owner surrender as they had to move and where they were moving did not allow pets. Red Raven is a very intelligent dog, and will need a privacy fenced yard as she can clear a six foot chain link fence. This girl would probably excel in agility or be a great jogging partner. She does best with women, has been around children, but better suited for adults. Red Raven is very responsive, wicked smart, house and crate trained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations and ready to find her new home. Red Raven is available for adoption. Free adoption applications can be found on our website at: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NMA/Dog. I’m Addie, and I am the sweetest little girl you’ll ever meet! I didn’t have the easiest start to life, so I’m nervous about new people at first, but I warm up after I realize I’m home and safe. Boy, oh boy, do I looooove to cuddle, and I like pets and scritches. I'll even nudge your arm and hand for more pets! I really want to be loved, so please take a chance on me, even though I’m scared at first! I need another dog in my home to teach me how to be confident and to bond with. I absolutely LOVE my doggo foster brother and playing with him, so I would love nothing more than to have another pup that wants to run around with me. My dog friend being my best friend is so important for me to continue to live my best life. Because of my fears, I'll need a securely fenced yard to live my happiest life, and you'll see a different side of me when I'm outside playing! I am potty trained on a schedule when you're home with me, but I can also keep my kennel clean for a workday. My foster mom says I'm the easiest little girl because of my sweet demeanor and smarts. I keep myself busy with toys during the day when mom works, so I'd be a great companion for anyone who works from home!  Once I'm comfortable with you, I think I would be really great at agility or other training, too, so feel free to put my border collie abilities to the test! I get really scared by sudden, loud noises and fast movements, so I would do best in a home without little kids. Other than that, I just want all the loving I can get from other dogs and adults!
