Age: 1.5 years old Weight: 27.4 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Older children only Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Meet Milton, the most charming one-eyed pup you’ll ever meet. Milton is truly one of the sweetest and easy dogs I’ve ever had the pleasure of fostering. He’s gentle and sweet with every human and animal he meets. He really is the perfect blend of chill and play. He and my other young dog love to sprint around the yard, play tug-o-war, and wrestle. He walks wonderfully on a leash, and loves to sniff every rock and branch he passes (our walks are pretty slow and chill!). After some playtime or a long walk, Milton will happily lounge around on the couch or at your feet, or keep himself busy with a bone. Milton is crate trained, though I have stopped using one for him, he does great when left out. He doesn’t chew or bark and he’s completely potty trained. He's great with cats, often ignoring mine all together, but sometimes showing a gentle playfulness. Milton greets everyone at the door with a wag and gentle paw - so if you’re looking for a guard dog, he’s probably not your guy! He regularly turns heads while on walks and receives comments about his beautiful coat. There’s honestly nothing NOT to love about this gorgeous boy. Adoption fee: $595.00

Bea is a sweet, smart girl who had a rough start in life but is learning so fast how wonderful it is to just be a dog. Each day she gains confidence, picks up new skills, and shows off her goofy, playful personality. She loves playing fetch, running around the yard, and happily herding her foster family during playtime. While Bea can take a little time to warm up to new people, once she feels comfortable her true goofball nature shines through. She’s well-behaved, eager to learn, and clearly very intelligent. Bea takes her cues from her foster sisters and has learned a lot by watching them, so she would do best in a home with an existing playful dog who can help her continue building confidence. Bonus: she does well with cats too! Bea is ready for a patient, loving forever family who will continue showing her how great life can be—and she’ll reward them with loyalty, laughs, and lots of fun along the way. Adoption Fee: $495

Not good with kids, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Meet Luna, a 12-year-old mini ted tri Aussie who is not ready for the old folk's home. Weighing about 35 lbs and is up to date on shots, Luna has a little arthritis but is otherwise spry and playful and would like to find a home where she can make the most of her golden years. Emulating Dorothy of the Golden Girls, Luna is pushy and opinionated, but also kind and ready for fun and adventures. She's game for playing ball, taking walks, and maybe even learning a new sport like K9 Nose Work or barn hunt. Otherwise she's happy to just chill and hang out. The little old lady that she is, Luna can be crabby with dogs that pester her so she'd do best either as a single dog or with a dog that can read her (clear and appropriate) communications and give her space. In addition, kids stress her out and she would not be suitable for a home with children younger than high school age. She's just not the grandmotherly type. Luna isn't crazy about crates, but she has excellent house manners -- no accidents, chewing, or getting into stuff. However, she's not above occasionally lolling around on the sofa. Girl likes her comforts! She also likes her groceries and needs someone who can help her watch her waistline as she needs to drop a few pounds for optimal health. Overall she's a fun little dog looking for the right person or people to share her senior years with. The details: Needs a fence: Probably not after she realizes you are her person. Good with cats: Unknown Good with dogs: Yes if they don't pester her or try to steal her stuff when she's using them (toys, chews, etc,) Good with kids: No young kids All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $400 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Story
ymphony is a stunning blue merle female with two blue eyes. Turning 2 in June, Symphony has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on shots. Symphony has a very shy, quiet personality. She came to rescue very undersocialized and really unsure of how to handle living in a home where she has freedom to move freely. Initially, she would hide in her crate and would startle at all noises, leading her to run back to her crate. Now she is showing more curiosity in exploring her environment and will now cuddle on the couch with her foster parents and foster diblings. Her first instinct is to run and hide, so she is considered a flight risk at this time. She does enjoy walks, but still does panic at strange noises. Symphony is learning that there's much to explore and her curious nature is slowly emerging. Symphony is crate trained and does love her crate. However, during the day, she is allowed to be out and about and she will hang out quietly while her foster dad works from home. Symphony is also doing well with the resident dogs; she's not really playing with them yet, but will lay quietly nearby or cuddle a bit with them on the couch. At this time, it is believed that she could do well as an only dog or with another dog who is not pushy. Symphony will need a home that is more quiet with less foot traffic and understands her need for slow introductions, extra time for adjusting to new environments, and a willingness to match her pace. She will not be a dog that will instantly bond with you and be ready for all of the adventures right away. But her heart is open and she's looking for her forever family to bond with. The details: Needs a fence: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with dogs: Yes if they're not pushy Good with kids: Seems fine, but probably would prefer older kids or teens who are more quiet & calm All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. Story
Odin is a 5 year olds, neutered male black bi Australian Shepherd. He is 37 pounds, housebroke, good with cats, and likes people but is bit nervous around strangers. He does pull on leash some, is well mannered in the house and can sit, down and shake. Odin is currently living in a foster with 6 other dogs with no issues. Odin was a transfer from a shelter in Iowa due to the fact that he has issues with body handling and needs some work in cooperative care to get him comfortable with grooming and vet visits. His foster is working on muzzle training and desensitizing him to brushing. Odin is very treat motivated and loves his training sessions on the grooming table. Scroll down on our facebook to see a live session on cooperative care using Odin as a demo. In that video I mention that Odin is headed to a new home. We took him there but the resident dog and Odin decided very quickly that they did not want to share a home and he came back to his foster the same day. The details: Needs fence: no, but unsure how he is off leash Good with dogs: yes, actively avoids conflict in house with 6 other dogs. Good with cats: yes Good with kids: likely not due to issues with bodily handling. Older kids would be fine. All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. Story
King came to us from our friends at Minneapolis Animal Control (an awesome organization). He has had a rough past (left in a hot car and had to go to an emergency vet for heat exhaustion and had wounds from a collar on his neck). King is a young, estimated to be 2ish years old blue merle male with big fluffy tail. He arrived to rescue weighing 80 lbs, with a need to lose about 10 lbs. King has been living with a foster family that has spent a lot of time determining the kind of forever home he would need to be happy and successful. King is an absolute love bug with his family. He loves to cuddle and play and he is very good with the children who live in the home. He does have a preference for women and has displayed behaviors that would indicate that he can feel protective of them. He can be skeptical of new people, and would benefit from slow introductions. King has not been a fan of other dogs coming into his home, and is not very polite in meeting other dogs, so he would do best as being the only dog in the home. He seemed indifferent to cats in the intake home when he first arrived to ARM, but will chase animals that run, so cats might not find him quite as entertaining as he does. King adores the outdoors; loving walks and playing outside. His leash manners are still work in progress, but he’s eager to learn and please. King does have the herding instinct, and will try to herd children running around so it is not recommended that he’d be placed in a home with young kids. King is housebroken and is crate trained, but he is not a fan of the crate. However, he does have some separation anxiety (which can be common of dogs coming out of the shelter environment) and will get destructive, so for his safety, he does need to be crated when people are gone, or live in a home where someone is home all of the time. ARM and his foster family are currently looking to him assessed for anxiety so we can explore treatment options to support his needs and to keep him safe. King’s ideal home would be a quiet home that doesn’t have many visitors and he can be the only pet in the home. King loves his family with his whole being but does need to have a family that accepts that he’s not a dog that loves social gatherings, but instead would much rather cuddle with you on the couch, and binge watch your favorite series with you. King is being fostered in northern MN, north of Duluth. The details: Needs fence? Not required, but reliable recall will need to be established before going off lead. Good with dogs? No Good with cats? Will chase Good with kids? Children aged 10 or older All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. Age: 6/29/2025 Weight: ~40 lbs Dog friendly: Yes (may benefit from another dog in home) Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Meet Nesta! Nesta is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves being close to her people. She’s gentle with kids, eager to please, and a quick learner who enjoys training, treats, and enrichment. Once she bonds with you, she’s a loyal little shadow who just wants to be part of your world. Nesta is also a sensitive and observant pup who is still learning to feel confident in the outside world. Busy or unpredictable environments can feel overwhelming for her right now, so she does best with calm, patient guidance and a structured approach. She’s not quite a “take everywhere” dog yet, but she has so much potential with the right support. At home, Nesta is a wonderful companion who enjoys relaxing near her people and settling in her crate when she needs a break which still needs some encouragement sometimes. She does well with visitors and other dogs after a warm-up period and may especially benefit from a confident, well-balanced dog in the home to help her feel more secure. Nesta is looking for a home that can provide a calm, consistent environment and is excited to continue helping her build confidence at her own pace. With time, patience, and love, she will grow into a deeply loyal and rewarding companion. Adoption fee: $250

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Meet Ziggy! 6 years old • 32 lbs • Australian Cattle Dog / Border Collie mix (with some German Shepherd, Beagle, and Lab in there too!) Ziggy is a smart, soulful, couch-loving companion who thrives with her people and forms deep bonds with the humans she trusts. Like many herding breeds, she takes her job of “keeping an eye on things” seriously — but once she decides you’re a friend, you’re in for a lifetime of loyalty, snuggles, and companionship. When new people arrive, Ziggy will announce herself with a bark or two, then quickly switch into friendly mode. After a proper sniff and hello, she’s eager to engage — often gently guiding your hand to her chest, where she loves extra scratches. Before you know it, she’s your new best friend on the couch. Why we love Ziggy: Incredibly smart and very trainable - she k nows tricks and has great recall indoors A wonderful companion who simply wants someone around, and loves cuddling on the couch or in bed! Loves car rides — short trips or long adventures. Ziggy e njoys hiking and exploring (she’s a fan of the North Shore!) Famous for her dramatic “old man” sighs Loves chew bones and has a beloved stuffed frog, but has  never destroyed anything in the house she shouldn't! Geo-trained with a hidden fence Comfortable being left alone for up to 6 hours Ziggy was adopted during COVID and has always had adults around during the day. While she initially seemed bonded to one person, she’s truly just happiest knowing someone is nearby. She does well with trusted adults, older kids, and even a house/dog sitter when her family is away. Ziggy is a herding-breed dog through and through and can be reactive to other dogs, especially on walks. Her bark can sound intense, but with consistent, positive training, she can sometimes ignore passing dogs when walked solo. Group walks with other dogs, however, increase her stress and reactivity. Ziggy  has also developed some resource guarding around food, toys, and favorite resting spots. With structure, space, and experienced handling, these behaviors are manageable, but Ziggy will do best as the only dog in the home. Because of her herding instincts, Ziggy is not a fit for homes with young children, as she may chase or nip at ankles. A home with adults only or older, dog-savvy kids, along with a fenced yard, are a requirement. Ziggy has not had any long-term experience with cats.  Ziggy is deeply loving, loyal, and ready to be someone’s whole world. In the right home — one that understands her intelligence, sensitivity, and need for structure — she will be an incredible, devoted companion who curls up beside you, sighs contentedly, and reminds you every day how special a bond with a dog can be.  If you're ready to open your heart and home to this loving companion, submit an interest form here:  https://redemptionroadrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/ If you are viewing this listing on PETFINDER there is often MORE INFO ON and MORE PICS OF the animal DIRECTLY ON OUR WEBSITE. redemptionroad.mn@gmail.com *Adoption fees range from $525-$650, depending on the individual animal* Follow us on Facebook & Instagram! https://www.facebook.com/RedemptionRoadRescue/ @RedemptionRoadRescueMN Ziggy is fully vetted: spayed, DHLPP vaccinated, rabies vaccinated, bordetella vaccinated, lyme vaccinated,  4DX/heartworm tested,  microchipped with lifetime registration, dewormed.  *Ziggy does have allergies: she takes a Benadryl daily with morning meal and gets a shot of Cytopoint in fall and spring.* Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 2:20 pm
