Story
This dog is fostered in Crystal MN. Ariel is a 7 month old super mutt puppy. She appears to have some Lab, Border Collie and other breeds. She weighs about 45 pounds and will likely be around 60 pounds as an adult. Ariel loves to play toys and with her dog friends. She walks on a leash and is used to being on a cable run in her foster home. She is a good girl and doesn’t bark at the horses. Ariel is learning to sit as well. She rides fine in the car too. Ariel is not yet fully house trained. She is good in a crate. She is learning and her new family will need to keep up that training. Ariel is a great puppy and will do well with a variety of new friends.

Story
Name: Ballet Breeds: Border Collie Age: Puppy Sex: Female Size: Medium when fully grown Ballet is a gorgeous Border Collie puppy who was brought into the shelter after she was found wandering after puppy curfew. No one came for her so she is now looking for a home who will love her, train her, and put that smartypants border collie brain to work. Ballet is smart as a whip and learns so fast. She absolutely thrives on being given something to do to. Puzzle toys, flirt pole, training—yes please! Ballet is typical puppy so housetraining is a work in progress but she keeps her crate clean for the workday and overnight. She is fantastic with other dogs but will herd them playfully which doesn’t always go over well with some dogs especially the little ones. She has not been around cats but would need a proper introduction to them and reminders that they aren’t for play. Ballet is of the mindset that everything is for play! Due to her breed she would be best with older kids or a herding breed experienced home who understands the tendencies to heel nip and chase kiddos to tell them where to go. If you are looking for a super fun dog who wants to join in on adventures, learn anything you want to teach, and keep you active and on your toes, Ballet wants to meet you! Requirements: No special requirements Adoption Fee: $650 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, deworming, and microchip Interested in adopting? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus tax Meet Katie, a young dog with a wonderful personality. As a stray found on the streets of Mississippi, not a lot is known about her past. Once a very vibrant soul, shelter life and a long transport to Minnesota caused this sweet girl to develop shy behaviors, but she is learning to come back out of her shell and is building confidence with every day.Katie is a quiet house guest who is fully potty trained and loves spending time in her kennel and the yard. She has really started to enjoy walks and does pretty well at walking on a leash. Her goofy personality reveals itself more and more as she learns to trust her people, and she is sure to put a smile on your face with her silly antics. Her favorite hobbies include chasing bugs in the grass, chewing on bones, and watching squirrels. She is a chin-scratch-connoisseur and will adorably ask for affection by nudging your hand or pressing her head against your chest in a sign of trust.Katie is a teenager who’s mastering the ropes of being a family dog, so she is still learning that counters aren’t for surfing and socks aren’t for stealing. She did well with the dogs in boarding, has been afraid of the cats she sees outside, and ignores kids that ignore her. While Katie has not shown aggressive tendencies, any children in her future home should be dog-savvy and know not to push her boundaries or make loud and sudden movements around her.The perfect home for Katie will understand that a little bit of patience goes a long way, and they will find joy in seeing her personality blossom. Waiting just below the surface of this timid girl is an absolutely amazing dog who adores being pet and has such a fun personality. The right environment will see her flourish into a perfect member of the family, and her rescue community can’t wait to see her succeed. Potential fosters or adopters should be willing to invest time in building a strong bond with Katie. A gradual introduction to new experiences and people, along with positive reinforcement training. Having a confident dog in her new home would be a great benefit to her as she can learn from them to trust the humans around her. If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks. Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotialble. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Ukko is a handsome pup, born on 08/19/24. He is a Collie mix and so far has a silly soft medium coat that is low shed (Collies can take anywhere from 6-15 months to grow their permanent coat)! He has cute tan socks and little eyebrow beans, making his adorable face even more irresistible. This darling sweetheart is equal parts playful, silly character, and snuggle butt. He loves playing with toys, humans, his in-home pup friends (pit mix and mini schnauzer) and plays well with others.  He is very smart and quickly took to bell training for going potty outside. It does take attention and schedule, but he is doing great! He is motivated to learn by praise and treats as reward, which is so fun to work with. He is extremely food motivated! He is not at all food aggressive, but he does need to practice a bit more on manners (as he will be curious if others want to share the crumbs of their treats a he will take correction, but this could be an issue with other alpha or food-aggressive dogs).  He would do best with a fenced yard to run and also would be a great companion to another dog. He likes to play, chase, run, and pounce, and will shadow another dog as well.  He will need some work on crate training. Currently, someone is home most of the time except short periods where he is out of the kennel with our dogs. He is more comfortable out of a kennel and doesn’t like to be by himself much. He is a great in bed sleeper overnight and will jump down or notify you if or when he needs to go out in an emergency!     Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $595.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 29, 2024, 11:19 am

Story
Joy is such a sweet girl and is friendly with everyone. She stills hangs out with her siblings right now during the day and night but will be ready to find her forever home. Joy is estimated to be 10 weeks old and 7 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. Story
Meet Marti! Marti is a 5 year old, neutered, double merle, male, who came to us almost completely feral. He is a slightly pudgy 40 pounds, crate trained, house broke (but still leaks a little urine when sleeping although we haven't tried medication for that yet as it has been improving). As he is double merle he has some vision issues as well. Marti will need a very special owner that is willing to give him plenty of time to learn to trust. At his foster home Marti gets along with other dogs, is great with cats, and walks off leash in a rural setting. Marti is that lower energy aussie everyone's looking for and would like a quiet home. Marti will need more training in cooperative Care which his foster is working on and is easy to implement. The details: Needs Fence: Depends on setting (needs to gain trust to be leashed, fence necessary in busier area) Good With Dogs: Yes Good With People: Needs patience Good with cats: Yes All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. We need an approved application on file to set up a meeting with a dog you might be interested in. You can find our application at www.aussierescuemn.com. All dogs have an adoption fee of $300 plus MN sales tax. We pride ourselves on matches that are awesome for both the dog and your family. Story
UPDATED BIO - Tanner is a gorgeous neutered Red Tri, who came to rescue out of a hoarding situation, who is very sweet and sensitive. He needs a little bit of time and patience to warm up to new people and adjust to new environments, but once he's comfortable with you, you're his everything. Tanner has come a long way in his foster homes, learning to enjoy walks on the leash and rides in the car. Tanner would love a home with another dog to keep him company. He doesn't play but really enjoys the companionship and has more confidence when there's another dog around to let him know things are safe. The details: Needs Fence: yes Good with dogs: yes (calm and confident) Good with cats: Unknown, no current exposure Good with kids: older or no kids All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers. Meet Shyla! Shyla is a 10 year old, black tri, female aussie who is 22 pounds. Shyla is loyal and loving, but due to a recent dog attack, would do best as an only animal in the home as she is now quite nervous after her injuries. Shyla would make a great work from home buddy as she just wants to be where you are. She loves the outdoors and would love to also be a walking buddy. Shyla is being fostered by her owner in Hastings. Her owner states that she is calm, affectionate, curious, agile, cuddly, fun, friendly with humans, and nervous.
