Daisy Rose is an adorable 10-11 month old female beagle mix puppy. She is playful, fun loving, energetic, and very loving. This outgoing girl loves to play with other dogs and likes kids. She is very friendly to everyone she meets and is always eager to go for a walk. She will chase cats but might be able to live with a very dog savvy cat who is not declawed. She does not mind being crated and will finish housetraining easily. Daisy Rose will be a fantastic dog for an active family. He is a 1 year old beagle. Jake came to OBHR from a local shelter. We know from his foster that he his house broken and crate trained and good with both a young and older dog, but he is a young and active guy so another young dog and active family will be best for this beagle boy! He will require a home with a fenced in yard and his adoption fee is $300. He is currently being fostered in Columbus. He has not been cat tested but we do know…no farm animals! He is NOT chicken friendly. Let’s just say that’s why this sweet boy found his way to rescue! But that’s ok Jake! We will find you a home with no chickens! Adoption Process: To meet one our dogs you must first fill out our application on our website ohiobassetrescue.com. Once submitted one of our volunteers will reach out to you. Upon approval you will be given an approval code to email us at ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com. Approvals are good for 6 months for any current or future dogs. After 6 months you will be directed to fill out an updated application. Please note we only process applications where the adopter lives in OH, IN, KY, PA, WV, lower MI. Adopters must be willing to travel to meet the dog they are adopting. Dogs locations are listed on their profile description on our website. Dogs are NOT all located in Brookville, that is our mailing address. Please understand we are all volunteers and will respond as soon as we can as we all have jobs and family obligations. Hi I'm Merlin! I'm a little shy but once you get to know me I'm as sweet as can be. I'm around 6 years old and 45 lbs, and I would do best with a simple, routine life without too much excitement. In fact, I could spend almost all day on the couch with my head on your shoulder. I am vision impaired but once you help me learn where everything is, I do just fine navigating on my own- I'm even crate trained and enjoy having a crate as my "home base". I am perfect with cats and dogs, and would really love a dog friend to help me continue building my confidence. I do need a fenced in yard at my forever home, being on leash is tough for me until I feel super safe and secure. If you're a homebody with a little bit of patience and a gentle soul, I would be the perfect companion for you and I am sure to give you all the love you'll ever need. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter. Lulu is a sweet 3-1/2 year old with classic Beagle traits. She is curious and enthusiastic when meeting new people (kids!) and dogs. Lulu loves the outdoors, sniffing her way around the yard and chasing balls, while keeping an eye on her person. She's happy to plop down in the grass or on the patio for some sunbathing. Lulu isn't the greatest about walking on a leash, but she's eager to go! When Lulu sees her leash and an open car door, she thinks "Yay, we're going for a ride!" and jumps right in. As a treat-motivated Beagle, Lulu carries a few extra pounds. Lulu is house-trained and crate-trained, and sleeps great through the night. She likes her daytime naps and wakes up refreshed and happy to see her person. Meet Bagel the Beagle! This girl is six years old and is quite the chunk, weighing in around 40 lbs. She is ready to work on her summer body by going for walks around the neighborhood and exploring her new home! Bagel is a sweet and friendly girl, happy to waddle up to any and all humans to receive some love. She is fostered with other small dogs and does well with them, playing on occasion but mostly just hanging out. She is true to her breed and absolutely loves to explore using her nose. Once she has sniffed everything she possibly can, she loves to chew on a bone or flop over on her side to take a nap. Bagel does not prefer to be in a crate but does well left out when her foster mom is not home. She doesn't get into anything and either snoozes on the couch or watches out the window. For a beagle, Bagel is shockingly quiet, so far only barking on occasion! She is working on potty training, going regularly outside but also utilizing puppy pads indoors. She absolutely loves people and wants to be by your side at all times! She will make sure to find her way to you if you happen to be in another room.
