Percy came to OBHR a HOT MESS!! She had no hair on her chest, bottom, hoo hoo, back legs and very sparse on her back. Her eyes were cloudy and goopy. She was obviously used to crank out puppies over the years and probably was dumped. Thank goodness she was picked up by a good hearted person who took her to the shelter who then contacted us. Percy Sue Pickles' foster family has been taking fantastic care of her and a lot of her hair is coming back in! She is still pretty bald on the booty and legs, but things are filling in! She has some new eye meds and they are also clearing up. We are not sure she can see 100% but thank goodness she has that hound dog nose! Percy is guessed to be a bea-bull...beagle bulldog and about 8 years old. She is a sweet girl who would love a family of her own. She is spayed, chipped and up to date on all shots, but it still continuing with her meds for her eyes and skin. She is a little gal at 36 pounds of spunk! She is good with other dogs, chickens, ducks, lizards.....doing fantastic in her foster home! She is a spunky little girl who may take a few days to warm up to you but she will eventually pay you back with love over and over! She is available for adoption now if she can go to a home close enough to our Columbus vet so they can continue to check her progress for a few more weeks. This sweet boy is about 7-8 years old, basset beagle mix, and is about 37 pounds. He was found as a stray so we don’t know his background but we do know a lot about him! Jasper LOVES to be outside and sniff so he will require a fenced in yard! He does great with other dogs and cats! (Well he’s actually afraid of the cats!) He sleeps in a dog bed in his foster mom’s bedroom and is just the bestest of boys! She doesn’t crate him when she is gone and he is perfectly fine! He will probably need a bit of refresher in his new home, watch for his signs, when he has to go potty so we don’t think he was a family pet before but he is doing TERRIFIC now! His foster mom loves him to pieces and wants the best home for him! He would make a perfect pet for a senior who just wants a baby to love and won’t be too energetic but still have A LOT of love and life left in him! Diary of a Foster Dog Waking up today, I can't stop thinking about finding my forever home. It'll have to be a special one since I'm a bit of an oddball, but I know they're out there somewhere. Since my vision is spotty, it takes me longer to adjust to new people and places. I really just need someone who is patient and willing to guide me to my favorite spots until I get the hang of things. I've come a long way in the past year, from living in an abandoned building to living in a real home with humans to care for me. The dogs here have taught me so much and given me confidence, surely my forever family will have a dog to continue helping me become my best self. And cats- I live with those too. I give those unpredictable claw-filled bundles of fur plenty of space, just in case. I'm looking forward to having a new yard to explore but it has to be fenced- being on leash freaks me out until I REALLY trust you. Foster mom and dad call me an introvert because I'd much rather stay home and snuggle on the couch than go on walks and adventures. My ideal life is a quiet one with structure, consistency, and most importantly- lots of love. It seems like alot to ask and I know my quirks won't fit every lifestyle, and that's ok! But if you think my precious face would be the perfect addition to your home, please apply to adopt me. I'm ready for the best chapter of my life to begin! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.
