You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Bella is about 10 years old, but certainly does not act her age! She has been in a loving home for almost 8 years, and is now in need of a home in which the owner is home more often. Bella has been through extensive training, and knows many commands including sit, stay, down, wait, touch, come, place, and crate.  She is house-trained, crate trained, and great on a leash. She is up to date on vetting and presently has a clean bill of health. She is great with people and children. She has only been around a baby once, and seemed reserved and a bit scared of her. The reason Bella was returned to our rescue is because of her anxiety when left alone for long periods of time. Several medications have been tried, but she may still bark when left alone in her crate. Her foster has one medication which does help her for 2 to 3 hours before she gets anxious. Given her owner moved into a townhouse, and works full time, this will not work with neighbors potentially hearing her barking.  Presently, Bella stays with one foster, and another one helps if the present foster is gone for a long day and evening. If you are interested in either being her long term foster or adopter, the foster that has her is willing to provide you with support or free boarding for anytime it is needed. This foster lives in Eastern Baltimore County area and says she is just the perfect loving companion for someone who is home most of the time. He is officially an excellent crate dog! Water Baby: We just discovered that Holmes absolutely loves to play and hang out in the water! If you have a pool or love the beach, you've found your new swimming buddy. Personal Space? What's That?: Holmes believes your space is his space. Story
Courtesy Post: Meet Arlo ❤️ Arlo is a handsome 4-year-old Beagle/Pit Bull mix weighing about 60 pounds who has been a deeply loved member of his family's home since he was just 4 months old. This sweet, loyal boy is looking for a new beginning with someone who will appreciate the incredible companion he is. If Arlo could describe himself in three words, they'd be loyal, goofy, and affectionate. He absolutely loves cuddling, giving hugs, and being close to his favorite people. One of his family's favorite things about him is how incredibly soft he is—making every cuddle even better! He also has the funniest habit of sleeping upside down with a big smile on his face, guaranteed to make you laugh. Arlo has a heart that's as big as his personality. He's remarkably intuitive and seems to know when someone he loves is having a difficult day. More than once, he's sensed his owner crying from another room, rushed over, and quietly sat beside them to offer comfort. That's simply who Arlo is—a dog who loves his people with his whole heart. Around the house, Arlo is calm, well-mannered, house-trained, and crate-trained. His crate is his favorite place to relax, and he enjoys spending much of the day lounging on his bed, watching the world outside the window, or taking a peaceful nap. He knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, stay, down, wait, 'go to your room' (crate), and even 'bang bang' to play dead! He also loves using his nose in fun search games where treats are hidden for him to find. When it's time for fun, Arlo enjoys walks, hikes, running, and exploring every interesting scent along the trail. His favorite toys include his giant stuffed shrimp, turtle, ball, and Nylabones. He's not picky about treats either—he loves them all! Arlo adores adults and usually wants to greet new people with one of his signature hugs. He can be left alone while you're home without issue and settles nicely in his crate when his family is away. Like many sensitive dogs, Arlo thrives in a calm, predictable environment. As he has matured, he's become uncomfortable living with young children and has shown fear-based behaviors around them. Because of this, Arlo is looking for an adult-only home where he can relax and feel secure. His family wants potential adopters to know that he isn't seeking out conflict—he has simply shown that he is happiest without the stress of living with children. Arlo can also be selective with other animals. He has successfully lived with a 25-pound canine companion and generally does best with smaller dogs. With the right calm, respectful dog and slow introductions, he may also do well, but he would be equally happy soaking up all of the attention as your one and only pet. He does best with an experienced handler on walks since he can react when other animals are nearby. His ideal home is a quiet one with patient, understanding people who will continue helping him build confidence. A fenced yard would be wonderful, although an adopter committed to giving him several daily walks would also make him happy. Arlo is neutered and healthy aside from some mild anxiety, which is easily managed with calming chews. His rabies vaccine is current. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for Arlo's family. They love him dearly, but they know he deserves a home where he can feel completely comfortable and thrive. They are committed to finding him the perfect match—a gentle, patient person who will cherish his affectionate nature, appreciate his goofy personality, and receive the unwavering loyalty he gives so freely. If you're looking for a devoted best friend who will greet you with hugs, make you smile every day, and be by your side through life's ups and downs, Arlo may be the dog you've been waiting for. Story
Hi, I'm Smore, a 4-year-old chocolate Beagle with a sweet disposition and a nose for adventure! 🐕 I'm friendly with other dogs, so I'd love a home where I can have canine companions to play with. I'm not yet spayed, but that's something your vet can help with as part of settling into your family. With my compact size and lovable nature, I'm ready to bring joy and beagle charm into your life. Come meet me and let's sniff out a wonderful future together! 🐾 This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Story
Meet Nyla, a sweet 5-year-old Beagle who loves people, other animals, and plenty of attention. She enjoys squeaky toys, giving kisses, and being part of the action.Nyla is also a smart girl who knows several commands and tricks, including sit, wait, come, paw, lay down, and even spinning on her hind legs.Nyla requires eye drops occasionally when her allergies flare up. Like many curious Beagles, she may get into trash if it’s not secured, so a home with covered bins or limited access is best. She has occasional accidents, when she isn’t able to get outside as often as she needs, and would do great with a consistent potty routine.Due to an out-of-state move, we’re looking for a loving home where Nyla can get the care and attention she deserves. She’s a very affectionate dog with lots of love to give.

Story
Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. She is ready for her furever family!! Apply soon! Local adoption fee is $300(in TX)
