Rookie is a 7-month-old Beagle, born on Cinco de Mayo, and he's just as festive and full of life as his birthday suggests. He's a playful, curious puppy who thrives with a loving family and a home that gives him space to burn off his energy. Rookie is up to date on all vaccinations, crate trained, and does very well with other dogs thanks to attending doggy daycare weekly. He is also great with children ages 5 and up. He loves playing catch and winding down at bedtime with calming music. He is food- and treat-motivated, making him very receptive to learning, though he would benefit from formal training to continue building good habits. Adjectives to describe Rookie: Playful, energetic, affectionate, curious, social, festive, and sweet. Rookie would do best in a home that can provide structure, patience, and plenty of love along with time for play and training to help him grow into the amazing dog he is meant to be.

Meet Freddie! Freddie Mercury (aka Freddie) is an adorable, very happy sweetheart! Look at that smiling face with the expressive eyes! He is about 3 years old, 26 pound, brown and white color beagle. Freddie loves to go for walks with LOTS of sniffing along the way; he is lively, playful, but also can settle down nicely. He does well in new situations, likes to cuddle and gives sweet "kisses" to his humans, and does well hanging with doggie friends. He is the typical adorable beagle! If you are looking for a very sweet, happy dog, Freddie may be the one for you! Freddie was found as a stray and ended up at a rural North Carolina shelter; we can only imagine how he wondered why his family did not come find him and take him home. He is so happy that PetConnect has come to his rescue and brought him to the DC area to find a forever family that will give him the attention that he deserves and never abandon him to such a scary place as a kill-shelter ever again. Freddie is crate trained. He loves his food and is learning commands (especially if food is involved). He would be a great companion. ***Please note that the first step is to fill out an application (It does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Freddie is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care.
