Story
Doc was unfortunately returned to the rescue. This is Doc's updated bio as of 12/2024: Doc is a friendly, playful, and affectionate 4-year-old beagle mix with a heart of gold. He loves to be around people and is especially good with kids, making him an ideal family companion. His calm and gentle nature means he’s also fantastic with other dogs.. Whether it’s playing in the yard, lounging on the couch, or simply following you around, Doc loves to be close to his humans and thrives in a loving, interactive environment. Favorite Activities: &#226&#151&#143 Playtime: Whether it's a game of fetch, tug-of-war, or a good chase in the backyard, he loves staying active and having fun with his family. &#226&#151&#143 Cuddling: He’s also a big fan of snuggling up after a long day, often seeking out your lap or curling up beside you to relax. Training and Behavior: &#226&#151&#143 Potty-trained: Yes &#226&#151&#143 Good with commands: Doc knows basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “come,” though like many dogs, he occasionally gets distracted by new smells or exciting sights. &#226&#151&#143 Social: He’s social with both people and other dogs, making him a perfect companion for outings, dog parks, and playdates. Health: &#226&#151&#143 Neutered: He has been neutered and is up-to-date on vaccinations and preventative care. Ideal Home: Doc would thrive in a loving home where he can get plenty of attention, exercise, and cuddles. He would do well in a household with children or other dogs, as he’s always eager to make new friends and share the love.       ------------ Original Bio from June 2020  Doc Hudson is an adorable 4 month old puppy that is now the only puppy left from his litter mates. We have no idea what breeds he is mixed with or how much he will shed. At best guess he is a hound terrier mix who could grow to be anywhere from 40-80 pounds. Doc Hudson is great with all dogs and loves all people. He is the perfect combination of playful and affectionate and would do great in any home that will provide the training that all puppies need. Meet Violet! Violet took to the skies to reach us, flying in alongside our girl Ernestine on a volunteer flight to freedom. Violet was found as a stray, and after a whole lot of coordination and kindness, she finally made her way to us. Violet is blind and deaf, and while she doesn't let this slow her down, she is looking for a home without stairs ~ or a human servant prepared to carry her up and down like the Beagle Queen she is. Violet is approximately 15 years old and 21 lbs. More details to follow as we get to know her better. Fostered in Severn, MD Please apply at MirisHaven.org

Story
Meet BARNEY! Barney is an adorable, sweetheart! Look at that smiling face with the expressive eyes! He is about 1.5 years old, 20 pound, reddish brown and white color beagle, with cute freckled white paws and nose. Barney loves to go for walks; he is lively, playful, but also can settle down nicely. He does well in new situations, likes to cuddle and gives sweet "kisses" to his humans (including kids). He is the typical adorable small beagle! If you are looking for a very sweet, happy dog, Barney may be the one for you! Barney was found as a stray in rural North Carolina and a good Samaritan brought him to a vet office. Poor Barney did not understand why no one came to get him and he had lost the comforts of a home. A safe temporary local foster took him in until PetConnect Rescue could bring Barney to the DC area to find his new home. Barney seems to understand housetraining. He loves his food and is learning commands (especially if food is involved). He would be a great companion. ***Please note that the first step is to fill out an application (It does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Barney is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. Story
Sadie Mae is as sweet as her name sounds. She is an 8-year-old tricolor Beagle mix with the cutest little ticking on her coat and the sweetest soul to match. She’s a gentle, easygoing girl who gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats. She would be great as on only pup or would love a canine companion in her new home—ideally another calm pup who enjoys quiet company rather than rough-and-tumble play. Sadie Mae is house trained, crate trained and walks beautifully on leash. She’s also working on trimming down a few extra pounds and would be thrilled to have a family who’ll help her stay on track with gentle walks and a healthy routine. If you’re looking for a mellow, affectionate, and well-mannered friend, Sadie Mae is your girl. She’s ready to bring warmth, companionship, and lots of love to her forever home. Sadie Mae is spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $250 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. 🎭 Meet Sabot: The Sweet, Social, and Star-Studded Pup Sabot isn’t just your average adoptable dog — he’s a star in the making! 🌟 This super sweet, affectionate, and well-mannered Beagle/Poodle mix is looking for his forever home... with one small twist! Sabot has been cast as the main canine star in “The Snowman and The Snow Dog” at Imagination Stage in Bethesda, Maryland this holiday season. That means while you can adopt Sabot now, he won’t be able to go home until January 23rd, after his final curtain call. But here’s the upside — you’ll get to proudly watch your dog shine on stage, melt hearts in the audience, and become a local celebrity before coming home! You’ll also have plenty of time to prepare your space and get everything ready for your new furry family member. Sabot first joined K9netic Pack in January for a Board & Train program, and when his previous owner could no longer care for him, he stayed with us. Since then, he has truly flourished into a well-rounded, confident, and joyful companion. 💫 What Makes Sabot Special: Knows all seven basic obedience commands Walks beautifully on leash and has a reliable off-leash recall House-trained and crate-trained Gets along wonderfully with dogs, kids, and cats (he respects boundaries once set) Sweet, submissive, and endlessly affectionate with everyone he meets Has worked hard to overcome mild separation anxiety — and continues to thrive with structure and love Sabot is incredibly versatile and would fit beautifully into nearly any environment — whether that’s an apartment, a single-family home, or a cozy farm. What matters most to him is connection, structure, and daily affection. So if you’ve ever dreamed of adopting a dog with both brains, heart, and star quality — Sabot is your guy! 🌟🐾 Adopt Sabot today — meet your new best friend and the star of the show! 🗓️ Available to go home after January 23, 2026 📍 Currently performing at Imagination Stage, Bethesda, MD
