Story
Doc was unfortunately returned to the rescue. This is Doc's updated bio as of 12/2024: Doc is a friendly, playful, and affectionate 4-year-old beagle mix with a heart of gold. He loves to be around people and is especially good with kids, making him an ideal family companion. His calm and gentle nature means he’s also fantastic with other dogs.. Whether it’s playing in the yard, lounging on the couch, or simply following you around, Doc loves to be close to his humans and thrives in a loving, interactive environment. Favorite Activities: &#226&#151&#143 Playtime: Whether it's a game of fetch, tug-of-war, or a good chase in the backyard, he loves staying active and having fun with his family. &#226&#151&#143 Cuddling: He’s also a big fan of snuggling up after a long day, often seeking out your lap or curling up beside you to relax. Training and Behavior: &#226&#151&#143 Potty-trained: Yes &#226&#151&#143 Good with commands: Doc knows basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “come,” though like many dogs, he occasionally gets distracted by new smells or exciting sights. &#226&#151&#143 Social: He’s social with both people and other dogs, making him a perfect companion for outings, dog parks, and playdates. Health: &#226&#151&#143 Neutered: He has been neutered and is up-to-date on vaccinations and preventative care. Ideal Home: Doc would thrive in a loving home where he can get plenty of attention, exercise, and cuddles. He would do well in a household with children or other dogs, as he’s always eager to make new friends and share the love.       ------------ Original Bio from June 2020  Doc Hudson is an adorable 4 month old puppy that is now the only puppy left from his litter mates. We have no idea what breeds he is mixed with or how much he will shed. At best guess he is a hound terrier mix who could grow to be anywhere from 40-80 pounds. Doc Hudson is great with all dogs and loves all people. He is the perfect combination of playful and affectionate and would do great in any home that will provide the training that all puppies need. Story
Rex aka Liberty is the perfect pup balance of chill and playful. when he is settled. He loves sitting in his bed by the fireplace relaxing in the evening or curled up in a blanket next to the desk while his human is working. Rex also loves other playful, friendly dogs and enjoys lots of play wrestling and doggy kisses. Rex also loves belly rubs and he is a big snuggle bug who will show you his appreciation of your pets with sweet kisses and nuzzles. Rex is also blind and lived most of his life under a porch until he came to PetConnect. He is resilient and, somehow, still full of Joy. Rex has always been blind, and he manages beautifully. He learns new environments quickly, has radar-like hearing, and relies on his incredibly impressive sniiffer (nose). Rex's fosters report that his blindness is basically a non-issue, but we will be happy to provide support and resources for living with a blind dog to his adopter. Even though he has issues seeing, he does not require medications for his eyes. Since Rex is blind, he tends to grr or whine to let you know he is there. This happens around stairs, doors, and when he falls asleep, but as he gets more comfortable and confident, this goes away. He responds well to positive reinforcement and gentle patience and has already made much progress. Rex is so deserving of a safe, stable and loving new home. In return, He will provide so much love and loyalty that you will wonder how your ever lived without him. To learn more about Rex, email bhutcherson@petconnectrescue.org

Story
Meet Lucky Freedom – the name says it all! This special boy is the perfect mix of luck and freedom—and he’s finally getting to enjoy both. For the first three years of his life, Lucky lived under a porch with his brother. Understandably, the big wide world felt overwhelming at first—but this sweet, gentle boy has come such a long way. Thanks to the love and guidance of his foster family (and some amazing doggy role models), Lucky has made incredible progress. He now loves going on leash walks with the family and is getting more comfortable with new sights and sounds every day. He takes his cues from other dogs and enjoys being part of a pack, but his confidence is growing steadily—and he’s ready for his next step: a home of his own. If you believe in second chances and have room in your heart for a sweet, soulful pup, Lucky Freedom may be your perfect match. Interested in learning more? Story
Hi, I’m Castiel! I’m a 2 year-old Beagle boy, weighing about 15 pounds, with a beautiful tri-color coat. My brothers and I were surrendered to a shelter after our owner passed away — it was a tough change for all of us. I’m a little shy at first, but once I warm up, I’m all wagging tail and friendly greetings. I was kept outdoors before the shelter took my brothers and me in so I never lived indoors until now. Wow, what a change of scenery! Initially, I was hesitant but with a little encouragement from my foster family, I’m getting the hang of the whole living inside thing. I’m a picky eater and haven’t quite learned the whole housetraining thing yet. I’ve met some cats around here. I’m usually a bit scared or I keep my distance, and sometimes I bark at them if they give me “Cattitude.” Sometimes, I just want some personal space. I’m actually pretty cool with cats but I really prefer to hang out with my dog buddies. Oh, and I love car rides — they make me happy! If you’re looking for a sweet and shy pup (for now...), I'm your guy! With some love and patience, I know I'll be a pretty fantastic furry family member. I just hope my new person or people are out there looking for me too! ##2416228##
