PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Copper! Copper is approximately 9 years old, 22 lbs currently and he might some Beagle in his mix. He found himself at one of our partner shelters after being picked up as a stray. In his foster home, he is doing great with his house training, hasn`t had much experience with crate training yet, and walks well on leash. He could join households with kids and other dogs. He hasn`t been exposed to cats. No apartments, please!His foster says, `Copper is the most friendly and loving dog I have ever brought home! I have fostered many dogs over the years and he is very special. He loves absolutely everyone he meets (he thinks everyone is his best friend lol). He wants to lay in your lap and snuggle up to you. He would make a great therapy dog. He is still working on house training but has very few accidents. He gets along amazing with any dog he meets. He will sit for treats. He LOVES to sleep in the bed with you and snuggle up as close to you as he can get. He sleeps all through the night. I am going to miss him so so much when he leaves. If I could keep another dog he would definitely be the one!`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on November 6, or possibly earlier. Diamond, named for the distinctive diamond-shaped patch on her back, was found by a Good Samaritan on the side of the road and was brought to Happy Life through one of our rescue partners. This friendly, sweet beagle mix is about a year old and weighs 35 pounds. She is an outgoing, energetic, and playful young dog with a lot of personality. She can be crated but tends to bark when she can see you. Diamond has serious FOMO (fear of missing out) and wants to be involved in everything. She gets bored easily and will thrive with an active and engaged owner. She loves to climb and jump, showing surprising agility and plenty of excited puppy energy, with not a mean bone in her body. She genuinely wants to be loved and to make those around her happy. Diamond is working on learning to walk on leash. Her excitement causes her to pull quite a bit. She will do best in a home with a fenced yard and an adopter ready to patiently work with her. She is a happy, bouncy girl who likes to jump to say hello. Although friendly with everyone, would likely knock over young children or seniors unsteady on their feet. Diamond will be heading north once an adopter or foster is found.

Story
Thelma is a stray from the south who, along with another beagle, wandered onto someone’s property. The kind homeowner took them in, provided vet care, and reached out for help finding them forever homes. They arrived in rough shape but have since recovered and are ready to begin their happy lives. While staying with the family who cared for her, Thelma got along well with the other dogs in the home and with children, showing special gentleness toward young kids. She is estimated to be 1–2 years old, weighs about 25 lbs, and is housetrained. She adapted quickly to life indoors, enjoying naps on the sofa and sleeping in the human bed with the rest of the family. Generally quiet, she alerts to visitors and can get a bit vocal during play. She is loving, affectionate, and always ready to cuddle. Thelma does well in a crate after some initial howling and is a super chewer who needs toys to keep her occupied. Thelma will travel north when an adopter is found.
