Story
Age: 11 years Weight: 30lbs Good with dogs? Would like to be the only dog Good with cats? No Good with kids? No Energy Level: Moderate Adoption Fee: ** 100.00 ** Comes with a free training session with our amazing in home trainer! Any other info: Meet Bo - one of our longest term residents at the shelter. Bo is an 11 year old beagle/terrier mix with scruffy wire fur, soulful eyes, and an irresistible toothy smile. This senior gentleman has had quite the journey. Adopted as a puppy, he found his way back to the shelter at 10 years old when life in a high-traffic home became too overwhelming for him. Now, Bo has been waiting nearly a year for a quiet, loving home where he can finally enjoy the peaceful retirement he deserves. Though Bo can be protective of his space, he's also incredibly sweet and loving once he trusts you. He just needs the right environment—a low-traffic home where he can truly relax, unwind, and be spoiled in his golden years. He’s looking for a family with no kids, cats, or dogs to ensure he can be the sole focus of your love and attention. To help him find his perfect match, our trainer is sponsoring half of Bo's adoption fee and offering a free in-home training session to help his new family and Bo start off on the right paw. We adore Bo here at the shelter, but we know he deserves so much more than these walls and shelter life can offer him. Bo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and kept on prevention here with us. Our hearts are breaking as we watch him quickly approach an entire year sitting in a cage in the shelter watching all the other dogs get their chance at a family. If you have a calm, patient, and loving home, Bo is ready to be your loyal companion. Let’s give this sweet senior the retirement he’s been dreaming of. Please apply through the link below. https://form.jotform.com/201977724595065 Once your application is processed and approved, our adoptions team will reach out to schedule an in person meet and greet with Bo. ------------------------------------------------ Our adoption fees include the pets spay or neuter, microchip, up to date vaccines, heartworm/tick disease testing and fecal check. Story
Bogart is a 9-year-old Beagle/mix. He spent the first two years of his life at the Westland Humane Society. I adopted him when he was two years old. He is microchipped. He's a well-behaved dog. He's wary of new people (never bitten) and new surroundings. He listens well. He doesn't like it but will tolerate going for a walk on a leash. He doesn't mind being left alone. He loves chasing squirrels in the back yard. He likes to play tug-a-war with his rope toy but not big on playing with other toys. Love's a good belly rub and butt scratch. He loves pizza crust. He likes to lay with you on the couch, and he has been allowed to sleep on the bed. He eats once a day and gets 2 treats every night. He would do well with people without young children or other animals. He does tend to bark at passersby while looking out the window. You'll have to bring his shots up to date, hench no adoption fee. The clocks ticking for him or he'll end up at the shelter which he doesn't deserve.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hello! I’m Tanbo (now named Snoop). I was adopted from Last Day Dog Rescue as a pup and now see myself back here due to family issues. I’m a very inquisitive pup and like to find my way into many things, but I’m learning that I’m not allowed to do so.  Anything to do with treats and I’ll be right there with you, but if you have your own food, I may sniff it. I really like to play with toys. As long as the toys are not stuffed, we won’t have a mess. I shred them within minutes, so harder chews would be best. I like to go for walks, I’m leash trained with slight pulling but I’m learning how not to do that. While we are out on our walks, I like to sniff everything I can because it’s all so interesting to me. After our long walks I like to curl up on the couch next to my humans and sleep. I enjoy being under the covers with them as well! When meeting new people, I do bark. Once I get to know them, I’m fine. I do get along with other dogs, I just bark a lot. However, I also resource guard my toys, so being an only dog may be best for me. I do chase cats, so I might not be the best with them. My current humans think I may have some separation anxiety, so for now I will have to be in a crate until I calm down and learn they will come back. I was just recently diagnosed with Cushing’s disease so I will be medicated for the rest of my life, but that doesn’t make me any different to love. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. November 15, 2024, 9:15 am

Story
1. PLEASE NOTE: Breed mix info is the best guess of Bark Bark Wag and our vets. There is no way to know for certain what any dog's breed mix is or whether they may be "hypoallergenic" without a DNA test; and most mixed-breed dogs may have 3, 4, 5+ different breeds in their mix! 2. MUST READ --THE FIRST STEP: Go to www.barkbarkwag.org and click on "Let's Get Started!" to learn about our easy 3-step adoption process & apply to adopt! *PLEASE NOTE: WE NEED AN ADOPTION APPLICATION TO START THE PROCESS* ARLO Adorable Arlo is a pale-green-eyed 14 week-old cutie who is sparkling with charm and personality! He's a stunning and unique blend of the three Bs--Beagle, Bully and maybe a little Boston--he's even got a cute Boston Terrier "Haggerty spot" on his head and he's adorably cow-spotted too! Arlo is a playful and lovable puppy who is on the go until until his battery runs low, then it's snooze and snuggle time for this little champion cuddler! Arlo is 14# for now, and our best guess at his adult weight is 40-45#. He's learning about crate-training and potty-training, and making good progress! His favorite activities include car rides, nylabone gnawing, big naps, toy squeaking, and giving a million kisses to his foster family! Arlo also loves eating meals out of his puzzle bowl, and bellyrubs (of course)! The best fit family for Arlo will be moderately active, with (or without) respectful kids 8+, who will include Arlo as part of the family and include him in couch snuggle time! He requires a doggie housemate already living in the home, who he can BFF with and learn from; as well as a physical fenced yard. His ideal family will also provide a consistent schedule and lots of love while Arlo continues to learn. He's an amazing puppy boy who is growing into a delightful young man and a wonderful, loyal companion! **Adoption preference will be given to families who plan to attend positive puppy manners classes with their new pup!** APPLICATION & INFO: https://barkbarkwag.org/adopt.html A certificate will be provided by the Rescue upon request toward spay/neuter at 6 months of age, redeemable at Doctor Paws Veterinary Hospital in Ypsilanti, MI.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Olaf is a playful sweet puppy. That loves to explore and play with toys and his litter mates. After he is wore out he enjoys a good cuddle and likes to give puppy kisses.       HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contra ct by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.&#226&#128&#139 Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a    $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee    to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
