You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hello! I’m Tanbo (now named Snoop). I was adopted from Last Day Dog Rescue as a pup and now see myself back here due to family issues. I’m a very inquisitive pup and like to find my way into many things, but I’m learning that I’m not allowed to do so.  Anything to do with treats and I’ll be right there with you, but if you have your own food, I may sniff it. I really like to play with toys. As long as the toys are not stuffed, we won’t have a mess. I shred them within minutes, so harder chews would be best. I like to go for walks, I’m leash trained with slight pulling but I’m learning how not to do that. While we are out on our walks, I like to sniff everything I can because it’s all so interesting to me. After our long walks I like to curl up on the couch next to my humans and sleep. I enjoy being under the covers with them as well! When meeting new people, I do bark. Once I get to know them, I’m fine. I do get along with other dogs, I just bark a lot. However, I also resource guard my toys, so being an only dog may be best for me. I do chase cats, so I might not be the best with them. My current humans think I may have some separation anxiety, so for now I will have to be in a crate until I calm down and learn they will come back. I was just recently diagnosed with Cushing’s disease so I will be medicated for the rest of my life, but that doesn’t make me any different to love. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. November 15, 2024, 9:15 am

Story
Cori 8 years old Attributes Single dog home Dog friendly Housetrained Good in cars High energy Requires a fence Adult only home preferred Cori is a sweet beagle girl with an adorable underbite who recently celebrated her 8th birthday. She was obviously very much loved in her previous home, but sadly, her mom passed away. Now, Cori is looking for a forever home where she can be spoiled again. Cori would do best in an adult-only home where she can have ample time to settle in – she prefers a quieter lifestyle and would like to be the only dog in the household. That being said, Cori would love to have regular playtime with other dogs and enjoys her visits to doggy daycare where she can socialize with other dogs. Cori hasn’t been around cats, so we don’t know how she would react to them. Cori will thrive in a home where she has a regular routine and will be walked at least once a day (and preferably more) to burn off some of her beagle energy. She is fully house trained, but she doesn’t potty on leash, so a fenced yard is a must. Car rides with Cori are a breeze – she’s the perfect passenger when it’s time to hit the road! If Cori seems like the beagle buddy you’ve been looking for, please contact Midwest BREW to learn more about her. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
Mila Attributes Potties on leash Good in car rides Good with young kids (lives with a 2 yr old) Medium energy Not dog friendly Housebroken Loves squeaky toys Mila is looking for her perfect family after being returned to the rescue due to her prior family’s allergies. This sweetie is 8 years old, but she’s definitely young at heart! She’s a sturdy 40 pounds and is a medium-energy gal. She enjoys her walks (she walks well on a leash) and sniffing around the yard smelling all of the smells. Mila rides well in the car and would be delighted to join her new family on all of their adventures. Mila is good with young children. She’s never been around cats, and she will need to be an only dog. Now that the warmer weather is here, Mila likes to lounge on the backyard deck, watching the world go by. When she’s outside, she will do well on either a tie-out or in a fenced yard. Although she’s not much of a cuddler, Mila does enjoy being around her people and would prefer a family where someone is home most of the time. She’s housetrained and potties on a leash as well. She loves to play with any toys she can get her paws on, and like any beagle, she enjoys the occasional treat. When it’s bedtime, Mila happily curls up on foster mom’s bed for a restful night of sweet beagle dreams. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
BINDI 5 years Attributes Dog friendly Playful Needs a fence Medium energy Potties on leash Need another dog Working on housetraining High energy Hi I'm Bindi, a cute and quirky pocket or 13" Beagle.   My human died and I ended up at a shelter.  A nice lady got me out and kept me for a week then I came to my new foster home.

Some of my quirks are, I'm not very food motivated and can be a picky eater (yes, I'm really a Beagle).  But that means I don't bother anyone when they're in the kitchen.  I do like my kibble. I have a medium amount of energy but I do like to chew. I'll need a good assortment of sturdy toys. If I get bored my chewing gets me in trouble with my humans.

I love being outside in the fenced yard and would love a playmate which I don't have here.

I'm mostly okay in the car although I sometimes get a little nauseous. Walks are a typical stop-and-go event because I do need to smell things as we go but I don't pull.

I haven't been tested with young children or cats.

I don't like the crate at all but I like to sleep in the big bed with my humans. I am mostly housetrained.

I don't bark much but will use my outside voice to try to play with other dogs.  I whine and squeak when I'm happy or want attention.

Do you have a home with a fenced yard and a dog that needs a playmate? I'm your girl. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
PEETA 5 years Attributes: Good with dogs, Good in cars Needs a fence Medium energy Housetrained Peeta, affectionately called Petie by his foster mom, is a very handsome tri-colored beagle that is approximately 5-7 years old and weighs 28 lbs. He was picked up as a stray and ended up in a shelter. He's not had a very good life and more than likely has spent it outside on a chain or in a kennel.  He's recently completed treatment for heartworms and Lyme disease and is now very healthy. Peeta is currently in a foster home. He gets along very well with other dogs but hasn't been cat tested, although as mild mannered as he is he'd probably do fine with them. He is a friendly boy but shy at first when meeting new people. He's such a happy boy that his tail is always wagging. He came to us with no training or any idea how to behave in a home so he's learning his house manners the best he can and would benefit from your patience. He can sit for a treat and has learned to use a doggie door when he needs to go outside to potty. He will need a secure fenced yard as he loves to sniff around in the yard and play with his toys. Since his foster mom is retired, he is not left alone much and he likes it that way. He does not care for a crate so at night he either sleeps next to his foster mom's bed or will occasionally join her in bed. Peeta loves his walks and does not pull. He walks very slow and enjoys lots of sniffs along the way.  He's such a good boy when passing other dogs and does not bark at them. Like most beagles, he is very food motivated. He LOVES treats.  Peeta's ideal family would have a fenced yard, another dog to play with (not a deal breaker if not), lots of snuggle time and walks each day. Peeta rides well in a car and enjoys being petted and being close to you. With continued training we are confident Peeta will make a great addition to your family. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
