Story
Meet Cocoa: Cocoa is an 11 week old (as of February 19, 2026) beagle / hound mix (best guess) that weighs about 12 pounds. Cocoa and her sister, Mocha, were dropped off in a bad section of Memphis and luckily a friend of the rescue saw them, picked them up and contacted us. Cocoa is being fostered in the south and would love to catch the next freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families! Cocoa is a very sweet and friendly baby girl! Cocoa gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home. Cocoa loves people and really loves to play with toys and children. Cocoa does well in a crate. As a puppy, Cocoa will need some patience while she works on her house training. We would love for Cocoa to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run, explore and play freely. Cocoa is up to date on her puppy shots and will need to be spayed when age appropriate. If you are interested in adding this adorable girl into your family, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. CURRENT LOCATION: Tennessee, awaiting transport to PA. ##2664930##

Story
Meet Gorgeous George — a playful, affectionate, and smart pup who’s ready to find his forever home! Since being rescued and living in foster, he’s learned lots of great manners: he’s potty trained, sleeps quietly in his crate, walks nicely on leash (unless a super tempting smell appears!), and knows commands like “sit,” “down,” and “no.” George is an active, fun-loving guy who enjoys walks, playing with toys, and making up his own games. He’s very social, loves giving kisses, and gets excited to meet people and other dogs (sometimes a little too excited at first!). He’s still working on a few manners, but he’s eager to learn and thrives with patience and guidance. If you’re looking for a smart, loving, and entertaining companion, Gorgeous George might be your perfect match.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Looking for someone to get the zoomies with you?  Well I'm your guy I love to zoom!!  I'm your typical beagle full of energy who just loves to have fun.  Remember I'm a beagle so don't be suprised when I do my beagle bay to tell you I smelled something interesting in the yard :)  Oh and I want another dog to romp around with its no fun being the only canine and 2nd Chance says I MUST have a fenced yard so I'm not tempted to follow my nose into trouble :)  OK well if you want to consider a date with me just fill out an adoption application and we can have a "speed date" :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Miso is truly the sweetest dog and is thriving in her foster home. She has the gentlest soul and absolutely adores people, making her the ultimate cuddle bug. Miso loves being close to her humans, whether that means snuggling on the couch, following you around the house, or soaking up all the affection she can get.   Because Miso is not good with small animals, she will not go to a home with any small animals in the house. She does best in a home with dogs her size or larger who can match her presence and energy. If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate companion with a heart full of sweetness and a passion for cuddles, Miso could be the perfect addition to your family.
