Story
Ruby is a seven-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix with a gentle heart and a naturally calm, loving personality. She’s the kind of dog who brings a quiet sense of comfort just by being nearby—whether she’s enjoying a leisurely walk, lounging in her favorite spot, or keeping you company during a relaxing evening at home. Ruby’s easygoing nature makes her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal friend who fits seamlessly into everyday life. While she may be a bit older, Ruby still has so much love left to give and many happy years ahead of her. She would thrive in a home where she can settle in, feel safe, and truly belong. If you’re searching for a steady, affectionate companion who doesn’t ask for much but gives everything in return, Ruby is the dog you didn’t realize you needed—but won’t be able to imagine life without. The dog adoption fee is $110. They come spayed/neutered, microchipped, first set of vaccines including DAPP (parvo combo), Bordatella (kennel cough), have been dewormed with Pyrantel, and have been treated with selamectin for fleas. Our website updates every hour, but some animals may be adopted faster than we can get them updated online. If you`d like to check on the status of an animal, please call us at 360-352-2510. This is especially important if you are viewing this animal on any site other than Animal Services` website.

Story
GIGI: Profession: Party-loving archaeologist:This lady, with the face of a healthy pug, is Gigi. When it comes to life, Gigi doesn't mess around: She lives it to the fullest. At 6 a.m., she's awake and ready for whatever you have planned, because that's what healthy ladies are like: resourceful, motivated, and energetic, as if their life were a fitness video. But it doesn't end there, no. Besides being a fan of outdoor exercise (that is, walking and playing), Gigi also has intellectual interests, and her main one is archaeology, in which she's graduating as a bone specialist, finding, recovering, and classifying bones wherever she goes. When she gets home after all this, her stay-at-home mode kicks in, and she becomes a cuddle buddy until the next day, when it all starts again. If you would like to review Gigi’s archaeological discoveries, fitness routines, and additional photos and videos, please visit: https://hope4lapawz.org/wp1/gigi-2024080DAnd that completes the cycle of Gigi, the party-loving archaeologist lady. Voila! This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.

Story
Sweet and loving dog. Recently rescued but I just do not have the time she deserves. I am a single father, I work full time and I also attend college full time. She deserves more affection than I can give her with my busy schedule. She loves to play and run around in the yard. She is great with my son who is five years old. She was good around other dogs the couple times I tried it. The only reason I'm looking to re-home is that I feel awful she doesn't get the attention she deserves with my busy schedule.

Story
MEET ROMEO, a handsome, loyal, protective Black Mouth Cur. Romeo is a gorgeous 6-1/2-year-old male, and he weighs about 74 lbs. (His shelter paperwork says shepherd-boxer mix). Romeo loves to walk, hike and be with his person or people. He would be a wonderful companion for someone who loves to hike and go on exciting journeys! Romeo is a great guard dog and can be protective with people he does not know, so would do best in a non-congested area where neighbors aren't a concern or with an experienced adopter. Romeo also has a prey drive, so needs a strong owner. He has done great with other dogs in a home setting. He's incredibly smart, affectionate, and will attach to his person or people. His bond is very strong. He is not a big fan of kids. Romeo is easy to groom, is playful, and loves a good belly rub! He will benefit from exercise, and people who understand his breed. He's currently in California but can be transported to Washington. Please email for an application.

Story
Love Bug, Smooch and Sweetheart were picked up stray by a local animal control facility and then it was later found out whom they belonged to but were still surrendered due to being unwanted. These girls are very athletic, energetic and have a high drive. They are extremely smart and will need an active home to keep their minds and bodies engaged and out of trouble! With the right environment all these girls are going to grow up to be very impressive dogs.
