Story
Hi this is Braxie, found as a stray along with another cat about two months ago . He’s extremely sweet and loving loves a cuddle and likes outside time. He loves window perches and looking outside . He’s sleeps easily through the night on top of his cat tree looking out window. Black cats are hard to find homes for but he’s the best most sweetest boy. Looking for experienced cat people who will give him lots of love and safe environment.

INDEPENDENT & INQUISITIVE  DOB 8/25/21 Hello everyone! I’m Elsa, a sweet, stunningly beautiful black DSH/ Bombay mix with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, copper-penny eyes. I’m independent and very inquisitive. I’m initially shy but am so food-driven that I always nudge closer to my foster meowmy for a good treat. I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my siblings. I can also entertain myself because I love balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys. Plus I’m very comfortable around the dogs and other cats in my foster home. Hopefully you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, 'A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere.' I’m so grateful that I was rescued into a foster home because black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of their outstanding personalities and emotional stability. I hope you’ll arrange to meet me! I’d like nothing better than for you to open your heart and home to me. I’ll need patience and time to come out of my shell in my new digs, but it will be worth the effort! I’m one little black panther who’ll leave tiny paw prints all over your heart HOPE ID 22-0219-G022 If you are interested in Elsa and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.  If you have questions prior to filling out the application, email us at hope@homelesspets.net and a volunteer will get back to you. EASY-GOING LOVEBUG  DOB 9/1/21 Howdy everyone! I’m Indy, a handsome, easy-going black DSH/ Bombay mix dude with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, copper-penny eyes. It took me a while to learn that being petted, chin scratches, and lap time with my foster dad might just be a good thing. My mom Luna led the way, so I started curling up on my foster dad’s warm chest for a quick power nap and discovered that it was pretty delightful. My favorite pastimes include following my foster dad into the bathroom (Bombay mixes can be very dog-like), looking handsome, and watching the world go by as I bask in a patch of sunshine on a windowsill. My favorite likes are dry food, toys with tassels, and warm beds. I hope you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." I’m so glad that I came to my HOPE foster home because black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of their outstanding personalities and emotional stability. Arrange to meet me today. Find out if YOUR chest could be my next napping station! https://photos.app.goo.gl/9LhdD26NmAhzMUtGA HOPE ID 21-1204-C089 If you are interested in Indy and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php. SHY ROMANTIC GUY  DOB 9/10/22 Looking for a bedfellow? One who won't take all the blankets or infringe on your personal space? Bagheera, which is Hindi for "panther," may be the guy for you. He's extremely shy and will take time to adjust to your home, but once he does, he'll be your constant companion. He won't ask for much but will want to be with you and occasionally sit in your lap. His second favorite place to rest is on an ottoman or in a cardboard box. Are you a patient, caring person? Bagheera would love to meet you. HOPE ID 23-0319-G042 If you are interested in Bagheera and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php . ENDEARING PERSONALITY, UNDYING DEVOTION  DOB 9/21/18 Looking for a sweet, affectionate kitty who will make you feel cherished by her gentle purrs and head nudges? Then I’m the perfect gal for you! Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Jenna, a loyal and loving black DSH/ Bombay gal who’s a real cuddle expert. At bedtime, I curl up next to Foster Meowmy to share her warmth and comfort throughout the night. Although I’m initially timid when I meet someone, once they warm up to me and I get to know them, I luxuriate in being stroked down my back as well as scratched on my chin, cheeks, and ears. I’m more of a lap cat than a fan of being picked up and carried around. My eyes light up with excitement at the sight and smell of snacks because I’m always up for a tasty treat. One of my favorite pastimes is watching the birds outside the window because I’m captivated by their graceful flights and playful chirps. My street-stray momma ran inside future Foster Meowmy’s home and immediately birthed my litter of four under her bed. Foster Meowmy turned to HOPE to help get us vetted as well as adopted, and, sure enough, I was adopted as the Pet of the Week at the PetSmart Pearland. Unfortunately, I was found in a trap several years later. I can’t explain to Foster Meowmy exactly what happened, but she thinks either I was dumped outdoors, or else I dashed out the door and couldn’t find my way back home. As a previously indoor kitty, I wasn’t used to foraging for prey, so the yummy food attracted me inside the trap. Of course, the was traced back to HOPE through my trusty microchip, thank heavens. When Meowmy took me to the vet to get updated vaccines, I tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Who knows how long I’d been outside, but probably I contracted FIV from a deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive means that I should live an average life span as long as my dental health is routinely monitored and prompt attention is given to any urinary-tract or upper-respiratory infections. Despite my loving nature, I’ve admittedly had some real setbacks in my life. However, my spirit has never been dampened! I certainly deserve a caring and understanding family the second time around. With my endearing personality and undying devotion, I promise to be a constant source of joy and love in my next family’s life. Arrange to meet me today! And you know there are advantages to adopting a kitty like me who’s outgrown the stage of kitten mayhem. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your treasured accessories. HOPE ID 18-1110-A012 If you are interested in Jenna and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php . Story
THIS BOY LIKES IT HOT!  DOB 4/7/23 Meow! Meow, everyone! My name is Aleve, one of the #pain-reliever-kittens. I'm a sweet, friendly, cuddly, loving black DSH/ Bombay mix fella who loves hanging out with people and requires quality lap time with them. But if I get scared, boy howdy, do I get fluffy! I can be Foster Meowmy’s second shadow and often follow her wherever she’s going. I’m somewhat of a couch potato because I love my naps. My favorite place, other than my hooman’s lap, is sunbathing in a patch of warm sunshine on the window sill. Like the 1959 movie title, “Some Like It Hot,” I’m just one of those kitties who thrives when the thermostat is turned up! I certainly help my foster family comply with ERCOT’s requests to conserve energy in the summer! And in the winter I'll want to snuggle up to your body's warmth. My siblings and I were found under the house of my foster meowmy's neighbor. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy stepped up to the plate to foster us until we could be adopted. I’m learning to play soccer with ball toys, which is a fun new thing for me. I’m still figuring out how to skitter and scramble around to break my reputation of being a sluggish sloth. I'm actively looking for the perfect venue for a nice snooze. Could that be your lap? Arrange to meet me! I have so much love to give -- all I need is YOU! HOPE ID 23-0519-G125 If you are interested in Aleve and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php .
