Story
Hello! We are seeking to rehome Binx due to us not being able to take care for him anymore. We’ve kept him for about a year after we adopted him for a friend and she didn’t want him so we decided to keep him until he was ready to be rehomed. Binx needs a home where he will be taken care of and gets proper care. He will need to be vaccinated and nurtured. He’s very loving. Loves to cuddle and sleep with you if you let him. Loves to eat! Eats pretty much anything. He does play, but sleeps most of the time. Does well with kids, but does occasionally try to scratch if he is played with too much or wants to be left alone. Loves anything cardboard, and long toys where he is able to jump to grab them.

Story
DEMANDS ENDLESS HOURS OF LOVING ATTENTION  DOB 1/11/23 Hey everyone! I’m Tomm, a very quiet, calm, and handsome – if I do say so myself – 12-pound Bombay mix fella with a sleek, shiny black patent-leather coat and big golden-globe eyes. I’m one of those Velcro boys who loves to stick close to Foster Meowmy where I can demand endless hours of gentle stroking and loving ear-scritches. My brothers Jerry, Jax, and I, a.k.a. #3-mousketeers, were less than a year old when we showed up as homeless strays in Foster Meowmy’s neighborhood. Initially she trapped, neutered, and released us. After about a year of feeding us, when her last foster kitten had been adopted, she decided that, with a little time and patience, we’d make wonderful indoor companion pets. It did take a while for her to earn my trust, but once she did (thanks to treat rewards!), I’m now all hers!! Boy howdy! With 20-20 hindsight, I much prefer brimming food/ water bowls and climate-controlled indoor life. My foster home is like an oasis from battling Houston’s derechos, hurricanes, and winter storms. The hardscrabble outdoor life is for the birds! I have some catching-up to do as a young adult fella because playing with toys is an all-new adventure for me! But I’ll get there! Could you be the next person who snakes the wand-toy around the room for me to chase or waves it over my head to lunge at? Or perhaps you have a tower of balls to enrapture me? Catnip mice and crinkle balls for me to display my talents as a soccer striker? Then I’m the man for you! Although we’re available separately, please consider adopting me with Jax. He’s shy and initially fearful, but, as his BFF, I help make him feel safe. Arrange to meet me (and Jax, for that matter!) today! I can’t wait to meet you! HOPE ID 25-0110-M011 If you are interested in Tomm and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php . Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.  If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site this feline will be this week-end, email us at hope@homelesspets.net , and a volunteer will get back to you. Story
COMES RUNNING WHEN SHE HEARS HER NAME CALLED  DOB 9/10/17 Hey there, everyone! I’m Lilly a sweet, friendly Bombay mix gal, a mini-panther with big amber eyes, who comes running when Foster Meowmy calls my name! That’s because I know what’s in store -- either petting or yummy treats. Foster Meowmy knows just how to scratch the top of my head, ears, chin, and cheeks so that I’m in ecstatic bliss. However, like most kitties, I’m not a big fan of being picked up and held. I’m great with most people, dogs, and other cats, although I’m independent enough to keep to myself and not be too “needy.” When I was barely more than a kitten myself, I ran into future Foster Meowmy’s apartment one rainy day, hid under her bed, and gave birth to four kittens a few hours later. When Foster Meowmy got me fully vetted, she discovered that I was positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+), which I probably contracted from the deep bite wound from another cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive means that I should live an average life span as long as my dental health is routinely monitored and prompt attention is given to any urinary-tract or upper-respiratory infections. Now that HOPE has a few pet-store partners who allow FIV+ kitties to come to adoption events, Foster Meowmy hopes that I can be adopted into my forever home. Since I get along with most two-legged and four-legged critters, there’s lots of homes where I’d fit like a glove. Since I’d been used to (and loved!) being outside before I met Foster Meowmy, I’ve never been a big fan of being indoors. It would be great if I could find a home with a screened window or “catio” where I could feel close to the outdoors while still remaining safe and sound.  Arrange to meet me today! Let’s write new chapters in our lives together! BOTH LOVE GENTLE STROKING AND LOVING EAR-SCRITCHES DOB 1/11/23 Hey everyone! We’re Tomm and Jax, bonded brothers who are hoping to be adopted into the same forever home. Tomm says, “I’m a very quiet, calm, and handsome 12-pound Bombay mix fella with a sleek, shiny black patent-leather coat and big golden-globe eyes. I’m one of those Velcro boys who loves to stick close to Foster Meowmy where I can demand endless hours of gentle stroking and loving ear-scritches.” Jax says, “I’m a very sweet, shy, and gorgeous 11-pound mitted gray tabby fella with white encircling my neck and embellishing my chest. Do you like my cute brown half-moustache on my left lip? I love Foster Meowmy’s gentle stroking and loving ear-scritches. She’s learned not to pet me too fast or roughly so that I won’t get scared. When she tickles my belly, I give her well-meaning love-bites. Since they sometimes hurt, she’s learned to focus her petting attention on my ears, chin, and cheeks.” We were less than a year old when we showed up as homeless strays in Foster Meowmy’s neighborhood. Initially she trapped, neutered, and released us. After about a year of feeding us, when her last foster kitten had been adopted, she decided that, with a little time and patience, we’d make wonderful indoor companion pets. The hardscrabble outdoor life is for the birds! We have some catching-up to do as young adult fellas because playing with toys is an all-new adventure for us! Jax continues, “I’m shy and initially fearful, but, as my BFF, Tomm helps make me feel safe. When I first arrived, I felt overwhelmed. As I felt more comfortable over the next few weeks, I started settling in and exploring my new “digs." I’m confident that, once I figure out any new environment, I’ll feel relaxed and secure.” Please consider adopting us as a bonded pair. We can be playmates and cuddling buddies while you're at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet us today! We can’t wait to meet you! Story
I’m Lily Rose, a black beauty full of sweetness and affection. As my Lily Rose remake goes, “I know what I want and I NEED/WANT you!” Left outside as a helpless kitten/teen, abandoned on the scary streets of Houston, I am in search of YOU and a forever home. A total darling and social sweetheart, I charmed my rescuers with cuddles and head rubs upon being found. I hopped right in their car, making it impossible for them to leave me behind. So here I am! I am an awesome sidekick. I love other cats and follow my fosters around like a gorgeous shadow. My medium fur glistens in the sun during afternoon naps and warms your side and soul at night on the bed or on the couch. I happen to be FIV+, which is not scary like it sounds and not a big deal. Living indoors, I have a similar lifespan to non FIV cats. No need to worry about transmission to your current cats as it’s only passed by deep bite wounds. Mellow, friendly, and sweet as can be, I live with and get along with my foster’s non FIV cats now. So please don’t close your door on me. I’ll brighten your days and life with my black beauty and affection. Contrary to the original Lily Rose song, “I know what I want and I WANT you!” So don’t let me live my life in a rescue/shelter…take me home! Reach out today! Or see me at PetSmart 2902 S Shepherd Dr Sat and Sun 1130-4p.

Story
Pumpkin is a beautiful light orange tabby now 1-3/4 years old. He grew up with kittens around him, and is still very playful, especially with loose shoelace-thickness or drawstring'-pants elastic ties, and even old Covid-mask elastic! He digs them out of a sewing bag, carry them, and then toss them in the air. In his foster home, he has three playmates who share his passion, and even groom each other. He gets along with multiple cats in his foster home, with no quarrels from any. He loves Churu lickable treats, and when in the kitchen, he likes to be petted in long single strokes on his neck and back when being fed. He knows his name, and comes when patting your thighs. He loves to do figure-8s or pass-throughs of your legs, especially if wearing flannel or cotton cloth pants - and you can pet him then, too. He does not and NEVER has liked being picked up, and won't be changing his mind on that. Others trying it made him shy to outstretched hands or fast approaches. Pet him with all his 4 feet on the ground, and you stand still. He loves cat tree nests, perches, cat beds, and window sills. Pumpkin had 3-year Rabies, FVRCP, and FeLV vaccines , is FIV/FeLV negative for disease, and on regular flea preventive. He is very healthy, and not a picky eater.
