Ducklett our adorable Border Collie puppy came into the world in the most heartbreaking circumstances. Born to a backyard breeder who was selling her and her siblings for thousands of dollars each, Ducklett ended up confiscated and landed in a high-kill shelter. Just minutes away from euthanasia, our rescue stepped in at the last possible moment to save her life along with her siblings. Despite her rough start, Ducklett is pure sunshine wrapped in the most gorgeous black coat with striking white markings and the most stunning, soulful eyes that sparkle with intelligence and sweetness. She's still a puppy small even for her breed but don't let her size fool you; she's already showing that classic border Collie charm: bright, playful, and incredibly loyal. Ducklett is fully house trained, up to date on all her vaccinations, healthy, and bursting with love to give. She craves nothing more than to know what real love feels like after everything she's been through. Meet Willow, a beautiful 4½-month-old, 19 lb Great Pyrenees mix with a soft, fuzzy coat and the most striking black-and-white piebald markings. Her DNA is below. Willow was born with a condition called microphthalmia in both eyes, which means her eyes did not fully develop and she is blind. But Willow certainly doesn’t know she’s different! This special girl has an incredible joy and zest for life and approaches each day ready for her next adventure. Willow is exceptionally smart, curious and eager to learn. She already knows “sit” and gets excited when she hears the word “ready?” because she knows a fun activity is about to begin. She’s currently learning “find it,” working on fetch, and absolutely loves playing with her flirt pole. Because she can’t rely on her vision, keeping her mentally engaged and giving her opportunities to use her other senses will be an important part of helping Willow thrive. She’s also doing wonderfully with her routine. Willow sleeps quietly through the night in a crate in her foster’s bedroom—not a peep! She keeps her pen clean during the day and is working on learning how to find the door when she needs to go outside. Above all, Willow is incredibly sweet, friendly and full of personality. Her blindness doesn’t take away from her life—it simply means she experiences the world a little differently. She is going to be such a fun and rewarding companion for someone who is excited to continue working with her, teaching her new things and giving that brilliant little mind plenty to do. Meet Slinky! Slinky is a 4-month-old purebred Border Collie with a tender heart who is looking for a patient and understanding forever family. Slinky and his three brothers were rescued from a hoarding situation and had a very limited start to life. Of the four boys, Slinky has needed the most time to adjust to his new world. New people, places, and experiences can make him unsure, and he prefers to observe and take things at his own pace before deciding everything is okay. Underneath that uncertainty is an incredibly sweet little puppy. We’re currently giving Slinky lots of positive exposure to new environments and people while allowing him the time he needs to build confidence. He’s making progress, but his future family will need to continue that work patiently and understand that he may take longer than the average puppy to adjust. Slinky takes a great deal of comfort and confidence from other dogs, so he will need to go to a home with another friendly, confident dog. A stable canine companion will be an important part of helping him continue to blossom. He’s doing great around cats so far, crate training is coming along, and potty training remains a work in progress that his adopter should be prepared to continue. Slinky isn’t looking for someone to rush him. He’s looking for someone who can give him patience, consistency, positive experiences, and a confident canine buddy to help show him the way. Watching this sweet boy discover that the world isn’t such a scary place is going to be something special. Slinky is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered before going to his forever home. Meet Woody! Woody is a 4-month-old purebred Border Collie who came to us with his three brothers after being rescued from a hoarding situation. His beginning may have been rough, but Woody certainly hasn’t let that dampen his enthusiasm for life! Woody is the boldest personality of the bunch. He’s confident, outgoing, and has a bit of a “big brother” personality with his littermates—he likes to take charge and isn’t always shy about telling his brothers how he thinks things should be done! He’s continuing to learn appropriate social skills and boundaries as he experiences more of the world. One thing is certain: Woody LOVES other dogs. If there’s a dog nearby, Woody wants to meet them, play with them, and preferably become their new best friend. We’re currently taking Woody out for lots of positive exposure to new places, environments, and people, and he’s soaking up all those new experiences. He’s also doing great around cats so far. Crate training is coming along, while potty training will still require plenty of consistency and patience from his future family. Woody is looking for an active home ready to continue his training and give this smart, energetic Border Collie appropriate outlets for his confidence and enthusiasm. He’s a fun little character with a whole lot of personality packed into one fluffy puppy. Meet Buzz! Buzz is a 4-month-old purebred Border Collie with a sweet, attentive nature and an incredibly resilient spirit. Buzz and his three brothers were rescued from a hoarding situation, so their introduction to the world came much later than it should have. Despite his rough beginning, Buzz is adapting beautifully and showing us just how resilient he can be. Buzz is playful, affectionate, observant, and loves engaging with his people. He has a wonderful attentiveness about him and is eager to explore all the new things life has to offer. Like his brothers, Buzz is currently working on crate training and making good progress. Potty training is still very much a work in progress, and his future family should be prepared to continue working consistently with him. We’re also taking him out into the world for plenty of positive exposure to new places, sounds, environments, and people. So far, he’s doing great around cats! Buzz will do best with a family committed to continuing his training and socialization while giving his smart Border Collie brain plenty of appropriate outlets. After everything this little guy has already overcome, we’re excited to see what he becomes with a family of his own. Buzz is up to date on his vaccinations and will be neutered before going to his forever home.
