Hi! I`m Sally, a cheerful, energetic 9-year-old Border Collie mix who`s always ready to make new friends, human or furry. My favorite thing to do is to be with my people, accompanying them on nice walks through the neighborhood, checking out all the great smells along the way. I should win the Ms. Personality contest this year for sure, with my open heart, endlessly friendly attitude and appreciation for the chance to trot alongside my favorite humans. I don`t seem to be reactive to cats, and I would love to get the chance to politely ignore them in person if you already have one in your household.

Chino is a good dog for the right home, but he has two flaws: he doesn't care to share an environment with any other dogs, and he can escape from almost any confinement. Since we like Border Collies in general, and since he was "overdue" at his animal shelter one day when we were there picking up another dog, he was also chosen and saved. We quickly learned that the part of Chino that is not Border Collie is probably one of the tundra breeds like Malamute, because we had to fully enclose every inch of his kennel to keep him in. (This was after he escaped from four previous attempts to kennel him.) The good news is that after escaping he only wanted to stay by the side of his human friends here at the rescue, so he'll need a pretty much constant human companion. Chino is about 3 years old and weighs about 80 pounds.

Blissy is a 1-year-old (as of February 1, 2024) mixed breed pup whose owner had to relinquish her due to incompatibility with her other female dog, the "alpha" dog in the home. Blissy did well with the two male dogs, and in our experience here she has done well with another female that is not a dominant girl. We think she is probably Shepherd-Border Collie or some such mix, and she's incredibly smart. Blissy "play-nips" gently when excited, which makes us think Border Collie or some other herding breed may be in her gene pool. She's mostly housebroken, knows many commands (typically having to be told only once), aims to please, and loves long walks. Her ex-owner says Blissy "is an absolutely wonderful dog" whom she will greatly miss.

Berkeley is one of the sweetest dogs on the planet. She just wants to be close and cuddle. She loves to go anywhere and enjoys being off leash best. She gets along with other dogs, but is intimidated by big dogs. She needs a strong leader to show her it's okay. Only positive discipline for the sensitive dog, but she thrives with a job and learns quickly. She has a HIGH prey drive and loves to chase anything that will run. Not great around livestock, because of instincts, unless you know how to handle that. She and our cat get along, but she will chase other cats. GREAT with kids!! She loves people and super friendly. Easy house dog with one good walk a day. Super chill at home.
