Story
Chino is a good dog for the right home, but he has two flaws: he doesn't care to share an environment with any other dogs, and he can escape from almost any confinement. Since we like Border Collies in general, and since he was "overdue" at his animal shelter one day when we were there picking up another dog, he was also chosen and saved. We quickly learned that the part of Chino that is not Border Collie is probably one of the tundra breeds like Malamute, because we had to fully enclose every inch of his kennel to keep him in. (This was after he escaped from four previous attempts to kennel him.) The good news is that after escaping he only wanted to stay by the side of his human friends here at the rescue, so he'll need a pretty much constant human companion. Chino is about 3 years old and weighs about 80 pounds.

Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Blissy is a 1-year-old (as of February 1, 2024) mixed breed pup whose owner had to relinquish her due to incompatibility with her other female dog, the "alpha" dog in the home. Blissy did well with the two male dogs, and in our experience here she has done well with another female that is not a dominant girl. We think she is probably Shepherd-Border Collie or some such mix, and she's incredibly smart. Blissy "play-nips" gently when excited, which makes us think Border Collie or some other herding breed may be in her gene pool. She's mostly housebroken, knows many commands (typically having to be told only once), aims to please, and loves long walks. Her ex-owner says Blissy "is an absolutely wonderful dog" whom she will greatly miss.

Story
We adopted Bailey from the local shelter 2 months ago. She is super smart, sweet and playful, loving and gentle with our cat. However, we have very busy lives and can't raise a puppy at this time. She needs proper socialization because she is fearful and reactive based on this but once she gets puppy classes and lots of time to feel confident with other people/kids/animals she will be a perfect dog. Likes baths, agility activities, obeys basic commands, likes snuggling up, belly rubs, long naps. She sleeps through many nights from 9pm-6am but sometimes needs to go out. She potties well when asked. 4 months old, should have experienced puppy training to keep her on the path to perfect companion.

We rescued this adorable 6-1/2 year old (as of May 2023) boy and he is looking for his forever home. He is a goofy boy, and leaps like a deer, so he will need a home with a secured yard. Berry does have a neurological disorder and needs an experienced and very compassionate home to welcome him in. Are you that special person Berry is looking for? No kids please. Story
CLOVE is an absolute love bug! This one and one half year old beauty is a small girl, about 45 lbs. She is a “super cuddler” who wants to be with her human more than anything. This very special girl shows love right away and easily makes a connection when meeting new people. Clove is practically an angel to walk. She is very responsive to cues and often looks back at you or wants to know where you are when walking. She seems to like having her pack close to her. Clove loves being pet and given love and affection. She will stop walking and ask to be pet and given love. She does jump up to give kisses but listens to commands really well. She is very treat motivated and easy to train. Clove has a silly, playful side too and is a little clown. She likes to do an occasional zoomie on leash and boings up with her little toes splayed!!! She just wants to have fun and she makes you laugh! Clove is friendly with other dogs. She was kenneled with another dog at the shelter before she was rescued. She is non reactive to other dogs on walks. She would be happy living with another dog or on her own. Her people are what is important to her. Clove is a sweet, happy girl who will make a loving companion and a wonderful family dog. Story
RASCAL is a wriggly, derpy, gentle little guy. This dashing tuxedo boy is about 40 lbs and one and a half years old. He is a little shy at first. But give him a few minutes and he shows his loving, even tempered, gentle nature. He wants to please, takes treats very gently and listens well. Rascal is learning to walk nicely on leash. He pulls a little when excited but settles down and loves his walks. Rascal is a medium energy guy. He loves a bit of play but mostly wanders the yard for sniffs and then wants to come and cuddle. Rascal is dog friendly and non reactive with other dogs. He was kenneled with another dog at the shelter before he was rescued. He would be fine living with another dog or happy on his own with his people. This gentle, sweet young boy is longing for a home of his own and a family to love. Story
Hello, my name is Zuko, and ball is life. I was surrendered by my owner with my brother Scout, who has since been adopted into his new family and now it is my turn. I know basic commands like sit, I’m still working on lay down and one of my hooman friends is trying to teach me spin which is going pretty well I’d say. I’m very eager to learn and will do anything for a treat but I would much prefer a ball. The staff haven’t seen me with kids yet, but I think I might be able to handle them as I also have a good amount of energy. I do have some dog furiends that I get along with and play with, but I would rather just tolerate them and play ball for days.
