We rescued this sweet 2 year old (as of March 2026) girl and she is looking for her forever home. Sweet, gentle and loving, she came to us with some skin problems after being found as a stray. Story
Chino is a good dog for the right home, but he has two flaws: he doesn't care to share an environment with any other dogs, and he can escape from almost any confinement. Since we like Border Collies in general, and since he was "overdue" at his animal shelter one day when we were there picking up another dog, he was also chosen and saved. We quickly learned that the part of Chino that is not Border Collie is probably one of the tundra breeds like Malamute, because we had to fully enclose every inch of his kennel to keep him in. (This was after he escaped from four previous attempts to kennel him.) The good news is that after escaping he only wanted to stay by the side of his human friends here at the rescue, so he'll need a pretty much constant human companion. Chino is about 3 years old and weighs about 80 pounds.

Story
This handsome 8-month-old Border Collie mix is looking for his furever team! Mackenzie is sweet and loving with his people and adores children. He’s the type of dog who thrives on routine and family time. Mackenzie’s Perfect Day: ☀️ Zoomies in his enclosed backyard ⚽ Cheering at soccer practice and soaking up love from all the girls on the team 🌙 Evening walks with his family to wind down 🏠 Crate time when he needs his own safe space Mackenzie is crate trained and housebroken. At 8 months, he’s still learning the world. He needs time to warm up to new people, but once you’re in his circle, you’ve got a loyal shadow for life. He’d do best in a home with a yard and an active family who can give him love, attention, and continued training to help his confidence bloom. He’s a great family dog who just needs someone to grow up with. Could that be you? If you’re prepared to provide Mackenzie with a loving, forever home and live within 50 miles of Palmdale, CA, please submit your adoption application. Our team will be delighted to discuss details further. https://www.ssfdogs.org/dogs-for-adoption/
