Story
Chino is a good dog for the right home, but he has two flaws: he doesn't care to share an environment with any other dogs, and he can escape from almost any confinement. Since we like Border Collies in general, and since he was "overdue" at his animal shelter one day when we were there picking up another dog, he was also chosen and saved. We quickly learned that the part of Chino that is not Border Collie is probably one of the tundra breeds like Malamute, because we had to fully enclose every inch of his kennel to keep him in. (This was after he escaped from four previous attempts to kennel him.) The good news is that after escaping he only wanted to stay by the side of his human friends here at the rescue, so he'll need a pretty much constant human companion. Chino is about 3 years old and weighs about 80 pounds.

Story
Blissy is a 1-year-old (as of February 1, 2024) mixed breed pup whose owner had to relinquish her due to incompatibility with her other female dog, the "alpha" dog in the home. Blissy did well with the two male dogs, and in our experience here she has done well with another female that is not a dominant girl. We think she is probably Shepherd-Border Collie or some such mix, and she's incredibly smart. Blissy "play-nips" gently when excited, which makes us think Border Collie or some other herding breed may be in her gene pool. She's mostly housebroken, knows many commands (typically having to be told only once), aims to please, and loves long walks. Her ex-owner says Blissy "is an absolutely wonderful dog" whom she will greatly miss.

Not good with kids, Good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
We adopted Bailey from the local shelter 2 months ago. She is super smart, sweet and playful, loving and gentle with our cat. However, we have very busy lives and can't raise a puppy at this time. She needs proper socialization because she is fearful and reactive based on this but once she gets puppy classes and lots of time to feel confident with other people/kids/animals she will be a perfect dog. Likes baths, agility activities, obeys basic commands, likes snuggling up, belly rubs, long naps. She sleeps through many nights from 9pm-6am but sometimes needs to go out. She potties well when asked. 4 months old, should have experienced puppy training to keep her on the path to perfect companion.

Story
We rescued this adorable 6-1/2 year old (as of May 2023) boy and he is looking for his forever home. He is a goofy boy, and leaps like a deer, so he will need a home with a secured yard. Berry does have a neurological disorder and needs an experienced and very compassionate home to welcome him in. Are you that special person Berry is looking for? No kids please. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online application. Hi, I'm Sugar Bear, a shy but friendly Australian Cattle Dog X who is in need of a new home as I was abandoned by someone who no longer wanted me. I used to live with another dog, but someone took him when they moved out. If you have a dog in your home already, please bring him/her along so we can have a meet and greet. It's unknown how I'd do with cats or children. I hope I don't have to wait long before I'm in a loving home. If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application.May 5, 2024, 5:49 pm

Story
Breed: Australian Cattle Dog / Jack Russell Terrier X DOB: 1/2021 Gender: male Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: medium Color(s): black/white/brown Description:Hi, I'm Mando, an active Australian Cattle Dog / Jack Russell Terrier X in need of a new home as my owner sadly has passed away. I'm thankful CARL has accepted me into their adoption program and will help me find my forever home. I know basic commands and enjoy going for walks. It's unknown how I would do with dogs, cats or children. A trainer thought an adult only home or a home with older children would be best for me. I do bark at other dogs on walks, but I'm calm when in a dog park. If you have a fur baby in the home already, please bring him/her along so we can do a meet and greet. I've adjusted to other people when my owner went into hospice and lots of new people were coming into the house.Although my world has been turned upside down, I've adjusted as best I can. If you have room in your heart and home for me, please fill out an online application to meet me.May 5, 2024, 5:49 pm

I'm active and good with older children, but not with younger children.I enjoy chasing tennis balls and going for walks.I need people to go slowly with me, letting me settle into my new home.
