Story
Meet Gypsy, a 4-year-old Border Collie with a gentle soul and a heart that’s ready to love again.Gypsy is here through no fault of her own—she lost her owner and is now looking for a new person to call her own. Through it all, she has remained incredibly sweet, soft-natured, and quietly affectionate. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention but melts into it when it’s offered, the kind who will follow you from room to room just to be near you. She’s lived with other dogs and is dog-friendly, making her an easy addition to many homes. She’s non-reactive, calm, and wonderfully well-mannered—truly one of those rare “pretty perfect” dogs who just settles into life without making things complicated.Right now, Gypsy is starting a bit of a weight loss journey. A few extra pounds haven’t slowed her sweetness, but she’ll benefit from regular walks, a balanced routine, and someone who’s happy to help her feel her best. Think gentle strolls, fresh air, and a steady return to her ideal self. She’s an easy dog in the best way—no drama, no fuss, just quiet companionship and a lot of love to give. What she needs now is someone who will show her that she’s safe, cherished, and home again. If you’re looking for a kind, sensitive, devoted companion who will bring a calm and loving presence into your life, Gypsy is waiting. Come meet her, take her home, and give her the love she’s been missingApril 28, 2026, 6:43 pm

Story
Maggie has serious potential and could be a very sweet dog. She loves getting pets and going on rides in a side by side. Her biggest issue with our family is she likes to jump on people and kids. With having young kids she spent most of her time in a fenced in area. We wanted to use her as a LGD but her behavior with the baby goats was too threatening. She has spent a lot of time with another dog (bassit hound) and overall they do well together but she can be territorial . She is 3 years old.

Story
Forest is a sweet little medium to high energy Chihuahua and Border Collie mix. He was born around 9/1/2024 and currently weighs 20 lbs. His DNA test came back with 15 breeds and Chihuahua/Border Collie were the highest %'s. Forest is playful, loyal and smart. He likes the company of other friendly dogs and likes playing chase and wrestling with them. He is beginning to enjoy balls and toys and will occasionally play with them. He Iikes chewing on bully sticks and other chew toys and bones. He loves going for walks, hiking and will swim sometimes. In the evenings he enjoys couch time with his humans. He desires to be a large part of his family’s life and likes being included in daily activities. Forest can be shy when meeting new people but has shown he will warm up with slow, calm introductions. He has a tendency to be somewhat timid but his confidence has grown quite a bit in his foster home. Once he is comfortable in a home he is a happy, delightful, playful and cuddly boy. He has a preference for women but does warm up to men in time. Forest is crate trained, walks politely on a leash and is house broken in his foster home. He currently lives with friendly dogs of various sizes and gets a long well with them. He also lives with dog savvy cats but will challenge shy kitties and chase if they run. Children would likely overwhelm him so only dog savvy, respectful kids over 12 are recommended. He would not do well being left home alone daily for long hours. He enjoys a yard and is an alert barker so no apartments for him. Forest would do well in an active home with a confident, playful dog companion to help boost his confidence, help show him the ropes and keep him company while his humans are away from home. He would not do well with an overly dominant dog who bullies him. A person who has the time, patience and willingness to work with a shy dog would be ideal. Forest is a sweet, playful dog who is a joy to foster. He is patiently waiting for his forever home. Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

Story
Roxy is a 3 year old, very playful, energetic, border collie and husky mix. We got her from Sacramento SPCA when she was about 5 months old. Roxy has been spayed and is up to date on her shots.Roxy is very fun to have around. She likes to run, yet she always comes back to you no matter how far she has gone. She is curious about everything and loves to explore the world. You can always expect her to be sniffing at the new thing you are looking at no matter whether it is a robot vacuum or an onion. Roxy is a very smart dog. She learned how to do her business outside two days after coming home. She has learned tricks like Sit, Figure 8, Crawl and more. Roxy is a very playful and loyal dog to have. We have had a lot of adventures together for the last few years. That being said, Roxy is an energetic dog. She has been too much for us since the birth of our first child. We have all the dog stuff and a dog trainer that we have prepaid lessons for life, and would help with the transition.

Story
Needs the Right Home) Foxy is a sweet, affectionate 2-year-old Border Collie who has been raised on a ranch her entire life. She is incredibly loving, people-oriented, and does very well with kids and other dogs in normal settings. She has a gentle, friendly personality and forms strong bonds with her people. Foxy thrives outdoors and is used to having space to run. She would do best in a home with land, an active lifestyle, or someone experienced with working/high-drive dogs. She has not been an indoor dog, so she would need patience if transitioning into a home environment. It’s important to note that Foxy is not safe with livestock. When in a group setting with other dogs, she has engaged in chasing and killing goats. Because of this, she must go to a home without livestock or small animals, or with an experienced handler who understands how to manage this behavior. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for our family—we’ve had Foxy since she was a baby.

Buddy is a 3 year old male border collie/black labrador mix. Buddy was abused in his first home and then abandoned with WAR but under WARs care and attention, he has learned that not all humans hurt. Story
Lord Bruzer is a classic Miniature American Shepherd, with a blue merle coat and soulful blue eyes. He has matured from a frisky, high-energy young pup into a generally easy-going and sedate senior dog. He is friendly, enjoys a good head-scratch, and will flop on the couch next to you. Nowadays he'll get all excited about a run outside and do a fast circle around the big yard with his brother, Sir Dude -- and then happily come back inside and flop down for a well-deserved nap! He spends a lot of his day either chewing on one of his favorite Kong toys or splayed out on the couch, dog bed or rug blissfully enjoying a nap. When there is cooking going on in the kitchen or dinner at the table, he'll hang about hoping for something to get dropped! He's generally curious about visitors or unusual human activities and will trot over to take a look. His ideal home would be a house with a yard with his brother, Sir Dude - the two grew up together and have never been separated.
