Story
Hi, I`m Bindy. I am the sweetest girl! I`m just over 1-year old and am a Border Collie mix. I am a people person, err...dog, and love to be fussed over. I am so motivated to be with you that I will sit nicely to leash up for our adventures together. While I love humans, I will need a slower introduction to other dogs, but being the loving and sweet girl that I am, I know I can make friends with other pets with you by my side. I sleep great through the night and am actively working on mastering potty and crate training. Let`s do this together!

Story
Meet Jump Start! This handsome border collie mix (maybe, who knows!) is a lovable 65lb beefcake with a heart of gold.  This goofy guy is sure to keep you laughing and entertained.  Jumpstart has met other dogs at the shelter and LOVES to play, but would probably do best with dogs who also have a rough and rowdy play style.  Interested in adopting? Visit our shelter during open hours and ask about Jump Start A051922May 22, 2024, 9:02 pm

Story
It's pretty impossible not to love Ahi! Ahi is a 1-year-old goofball who is always on the lookout for fun. Like a true herding breed dog, she loves to always be on the move and is a smart girl who loves to learn. She is a special girl as she was born deaf, but that doesn't stop her from being a happy-go-lucky pup. Ahi is full-grown at just under 40lbs. Ahi is currently being fostered by the family who adopted her sister. Unfortunately, Ahi's previous owners were not able to keep up with her exercise requirements and she was returned to the person who bred her mom. Once her foster family heard about her, they wasted no time to come to her rescue and we were happy to make her a YCSPCA dog and help find her fur-ever home. Ahi is a confident girl who loves to explore and make new friends. She has come to a few adoption events and has blown us away with how social she is out and about. She would be a great dog for someone who likes to go to dog-friendly breweries. She is a higher-energy girl, so she needs an active family that will ensure she gets lots of daily exercise and enrichment to keep her busy mind and body happy. She is still learning all her basic manners (especially how to not get too excited when saying hello), so her new family will need to be committed to working on her training and helping her learn how to be the best girl she can be. She is VERY food-motivated and will do just about anything for a tasty treat. Ahi's lack of hearing doesn't slow her down one bit, but training can be a little more difficult since she can't hear. She needs a dog-savvy family that has experience with deaf dogs or is eager to learn how to work with her and possibly hire a professional trainer to learn how to communicate with Ahi. Ahi loves other dogs, but not all dogs are the biggest fan of her boisterous play style, so she may do best as the only dog in the home. She has made a few dog friends and loves to have playdates with her best buds. Ahi needs a cat-free and adult-only home. Ahi is housetrained in her foster home, but her new family should be patient with her while she is settling into a new home and routine and expect a few accidents. Ahi is crate-trained and does well in her crate overnight and when her foster family isn't home. Ahi is such a rockstar dog and we know she is going to make a great companion for the right family. If she sounds like the right-hand girl for you, submit an adoption application today!   Ahi's adoption fee is $350.   Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/  Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm and started on preventatives, and are given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. May 22, 2024, 3:11 pm

(((READ ALL INFO BEFORE INQUIRING PLEASE))))) Steps needed to adopt Step 1) complete the application, the link is below https://form.jotform.com/81702264428152 Step 2) Thoroughly read any info about the dog. Review the rescues adoption procedures and process. Thoroughly research the breed. Please do not submit multiple emails or applications. We will contact you if we feel your home is a good fit. ALL dogs and cats in the rescue must be spayed/neutered in the rescue. Because puppies may be to young to undergo surgery, they are placed on our spay and neuter schedule. If they are adopted prior to their surgery date, the adopter must agree to either bring the dog back for their spay/neuter, or complete the alter at their own vet with a special contract in place and proof of the alter within a timeframe. If submitting an application for a puppy under 4 months, they might not yet be altered and are on the schedule. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- >>>>>>About the Dog
