Story
Lulu is a 1 year 6 month old female Border Collie/Blue Heeler mix dog. She is a sweet young pup. She is happy go lucky and very intelligent. She has a moderate to high energy level and loves to play fetch with a ball, swim, and go for walks, runs and hikes. She is shy when meeting new dogs and humans, but with a proper introduction she is very friendly. She is kennel trained. She is doing well on leashed walks. We have been working with a trainer regarding leash reactivity and she has been making great progress. She is very smart and picks up on training easily. We think she might do best in a single dog home with an owner/owners that can accommodate for her high energy and intellectual needs. We adopted her through a puppy rescue in the Sacramento area one year ago. We sadly must re-home her because our older dog is acting out towards her with aggressive behavior. Despite working with a behavioral trainer we can no longer have two dogs in our household.

Story
Kona is a sweet and loving boy looking for his new home. His previous owners shared, "Kona LOVES people and attention, and likes hanging out with you, but is also somewhat independent and doesn't need to be around you all the time. He enjoys going for walks (and walks well on leash), and he is also good in the car. Kona is house trained, very affectionate, gentle, loves being brushed, getting belly rubs, ears rubbed, and of course he likes his "butt scratches"! If you have a kiddie pool, he will lay down in it when he gets hot. He likes to play with stuffies, balls, hard bones, and ropes, and has fun playing tug of war with you to see if you can take a rope toy away from him and then throw it again, but he doesn't play rough. He is easily corrected if needed, and takes treats nicely. Kona will sit and wait for his food, but sometimes you might have to remind him. He leans in for attention, so be prepared to steady yourself so you're not caught off guard! He likes to be outside and hang out in the yard and he likes the rain. Fireworks and loud noises don't seem to bother him. Overall, he is a great dog!" He is required to be the only dog in his new home and he may not visit dog parks. Story
Shadow is a great dog, but unfortunately has some behavioral issues. He is hard to control on walks because he tries to run up and play with every dog. He usually needs a harness and a choke collar. And he needs someone strong enough to hold him when he pulls. He is a very loving dog once he trusts you and he is extremely loyal and protective. He loves all kinds of treats and even knows a few tricks like sit, down, and even how to catch treats in the air. He likes to play keep away with his toys and sometimes plays tug of war. He likes to jump up on people when he first meets them or after you’ve come home after being away for a while. He has a crate that he doesn’t enjoy but will go in willingly. He has bitten in the past, one time when the pool guy was outside and he thought he was intruding and another time when he was startled inside. He will need additional training but he is definitely worth giving another chance. He’s an adorable dog who just needs a little extra love

Story
Rosie is a sweet dog. She’s about 6 years old now, and her birthday I believe is June 4th. I got her from a ex coworker back in 2015. She’s been a good dog, listens, and has been crate trained. She is very smart and can catch on fast to any command. She loves treats. Lately I’ve been feeling bad because we don’t have the yard space like we use to for her to run around, along with other health issue that have started w/ my youngest child. She needs someone who will pay attention to her, to play with her and especially walk her. She wants affection and that’s something I’ve never been able to give her fully because of my allergies to dogs. I took her in because I felt bad for her, and she did good when we had our bigger yard. But now i am starting to see her become a little sad and restless. She does well w/ other dogs, and has been around kids. I am hoping she can go to someone who has the time for her, someone wanting to take her on walks, and just love her fully.

Story
Born 12/26/2008. We’ve had her since she was about 6. Very sweet. Has spurts of energy but overall not very active. Doesn’t love being outside unless there are people outside with her. She will sleep all day and all night if you let her. Loves to sleep under tables, chairs, couches, behind couches — pretty much anywhere she can hide. Rehoming due to baby. We have our hands full with a toddler and a baby. Caring for a senior dog while caring for two little ones will be too much to handle for us while working full-time. She is good with other dogs but does prefer personal space. She is also good with cats.

Story
**At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. If you are interested in adopting Sampson, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application- www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org** What is your name:Sampson! Are you a girl or a boy: I am 100% little boy How old are you: about 1, still a pup What breed are you: not sure?, cattle dog mix/adorably handsome How much do you weigh: about 40lbs What do you look like: My ears could take flight! One is almost always standing straight up. I am a perfect medium size pup, not too big or too small. My arms, legs and tummy have the cutest spots on them. 🥰 What do you like to eat: I enjoy puppy food, dog treats bone 🍖 and frozen peanut butter. I might put some other stuff in my mouth too 👞 but that’s neither here nor there, I am a puppy what do you expect. What kind of personality do you have: Fun, affectionate, energetic. 🧨 , is bouncy a personality trait? I love to play, I can entertain myself but would sure love to have my people to play with. Describe your perfect day: I’d prefer to eat my breakfast and see where the next party is at. I can run around the house, the yard, roll around on the couch until you rub my stomach or just sit and stare at you longingly. Do you have a favorite toy: Yes, all of them. Do you know any tricks: I can sit and sometimes will shake a paw, foster mom says I am smart and once I am settled into a home have potential of learning lots of things. I am a smart 🍪 . What scares you: Not much, the vacuum annoys 🙄 me but it doesn’t scare me. That’s one of those things I want to eat but am not supposed to I guess. I just tell it who is boss. ✋ Have you been around children, do you like them: I haven’t been around a lot of kids. My energy level would be much better suited for bigger kids. Though I will grow up and learn, right now I am sort of rough and tumble w/ my play time. Still learning the difference between playing with people and dogs. Do you like cats? Cats and squirrels are not my jam. 🛑 🐱 How do you feel about other dogs: I feel excited! I love to pester my foster brother Squish, he is super patient and ignores me so eventually I leave him alone and we just chill. If a dog can accept my playful attitude I will do well. Dogs that are impatient or easily annoyed, don’t want to play….hard pass. How is your health: After a few weeks of recovery from being hit by a car, I am in good health! ⭐️ We will see how I progress but due to an injury to my snout I may not become a long distance runner especially in the heat. But I do enjoy a good cool weather trot! 🐕 So far nothing seems to bother me though. Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion: I have a foster mom and dad who I love but mom gives me a little more belly rubs so she wins. There are two boy dogs and a girl dog in the house. Some of them are grouchy old things so I hang w/ Squish, he is a chill dude who doesn’t mind me poking at him to play. Where do you hangout when home alone? I am crate trained so I can hang in there while you are out or at work. I haven’t been destructive when left out short periods either but one day the toilet paper was causing some issues so I showed it what’s up. 🧻 🧸 Where do you sleep: In my crate, its my cozy den. 💤 😴 Do you like walking on leash: As a matter of fact I do, it gives me the opportunity to smell every single thing I see. 👀 💦 Do you have any not so great habits: I am still a bit mouthy and learning not to jump on people when I am excited. If you stay calm and ignore me I can take a hint or if you bribe me to sit w/ a treat I totally will. Foster mom sprays me with a water bottle sometimes when I jump. Believe me I am learning fast! Are you house trained: For the most part yes, I only had an accident or two at my new place, which is pretty good. Also, I have never done a number two in the house. Consider yourself lucky 🍀 Do you like water: 💧 A little unsure but will dip my toes in the kiddy pool and chase the yard hose. What do you like most about your foster family: They did what was best for me and kept me crated while I healed and didn’t mind me signing tunes 🎶 to them. I don’t howl often but when I do it is quite spectacular. They have been patient with me being a little behind in being a grown up boy and learning proper in-house etiquette. Apparently bouncing of the walls or shot out of a cannon is frowned upon. 🤡 What I love about them is they love me, I have food, and a nice yard to play in. What was your life like before being brought to NorCal Bully Breed Rescue? I was hit by a car and brought to the shelter, my side was open and my upper jaw separated from my nasal cavity. But the past is the past and I am healthy and excited to put it behind me. To new beginnings! 🦊 Sampson’s adoption fee is $100🦊
