We acquire Kiwi as a puppy in July 2020 as a birthday gift for our grandson who lives with us. She is a loving dog and a part of the family. We are putting Kiwi up for adoption because the grandson is going to join the military and we are moving into assisted living (we are 89 and 86) in May. and cannot take her with us. Kiwi is mostly Border Collie and is colored like Lassie.

She has been on sheep and done very well. She is house broken leash trained. Does not like a crate but will go in , Needs work with crate training. Penny is a dog that needs someone who can set boundaries in a positive firm consistent manner. Typical of herders, she will try to control if she senses you are not in charge. She knows commands, she is motion activated as are most herders. We are working with that and she can be reactive with other dogs, thus the need for a dog savvy handler. She would do best in a home with one other dog or no other dogs for those less experienced. Fenced yard is a must, as is a knowledgeable border collie person . A 60-pound,Australian Shepherd and Lab Mix. She came to the rescue overweight and has put in the work to get healthy again! Sadie is house broken, does well at home alone, and loves walks! She is good with kids of all ages and does well with other dogs with the right introductions. Puppies or high energy dogs might be a challenge as she likes her own space but with proper introductions she gets along with anyone. Cats are unknown. At 7 years old, she is calm and easy going but still has some young energy in her and would do best with someone who can commit to walking her daily. She is very vocal and will tell you exactly when she needs something. She loves people and is content to just be with you and would make a great companion for any type of household!
