We acquire Kiwi as a puppy in July 2020 as a birthday gift for our grandson who lives with us. She is a loving dog and a part of the family. We are putting Kiwi up for adoption because the grandson is going to join the military and we are moving into assisted living (we are 89 and 86) in May. and cannot take her with us. Kiwi is mostly Border Collie and is colored like Lassie.

She has been on sheep and done very well. She is house broken leash trained. Does not like a crate but will go in , Needs work with crate training. Penny is a dog that needs someone who can set boundaries in a positive firm consistent manner. Typical of herders, she will try to control if she senses you are not in charge. She knows commands, she is motion activated as are most herders. We are working with that and she may be reactive to other dogs per her former owner. She will be assessed in that area , as she has lived with other dogs before and done okay. Fenced yard is a must, as is a knowledgeable border collie person . This sweet girl is about 1-2 yrs old, utd on vax and heartworm negative. She is not spayed yet. Owner has passed and no family wanted. She keeps a clean kennel we have been told. Adelaide is timid but very loving and starved for attention. She will most likely be a velcro dog. Said to be good with other dogs. Will need a fenced yard and a kind patient adopter who can help acclimate to a new environment. Currently located in Florence Alabama This sweet girl is 1-2 years old, 34 lbs, Heartworm negative, but not spayed yet. She and what the shelter thinks may be her siblings both landed in the shelter after their owner passed and no family wanted them. Alice, is a bit timid but once the shelter staff sat down on the floor with her she was giving me licks. Her whole world was just turned upside down and she needs a safe place to start the rest of her life. If you can help her please complete an application on the website.
