Story
Ember is a petite border collie with the most loyal heart. She's a total velcro dog who follows her foster mom everywhere and just wants to be by your side. She absolutely loves her daily walks, car rides, meeting new people and at night she settles down quietly in her bed (or yours if you let her!). Ember is not your typical anxious high-energy border collie. She's got a calmer, gentler vibe while still being an active, happy girl. She's just learning what toys are and how to play with them, which is pretty adorable to watch. She walks beautifully on leash, sits on command and gets along well with other dogs and even cats (she just ignores them). She loves kids and gets along really well those that are dog savvy and respect boundaries. She'll need an owner who understands how much these dogs love their people.

Story
This handsome boy is 3-year-old Moby and he's waiting for you at Satchel's! Moby can be a little shy of strangers but warms up quickly. He enjoys his walks with volunteers, followed by a nice cool down in the kiddie pool while he waits at the gate for his turn to return to his kennel. Moby is full of energy and is currently working with a trainer to learn basic understanding of what is acceptable behavior. Note from a volunteer: "Moby is a darling and very smart. He’s a “back scratch” grass loving boy who prefers water over land any day. He should’ve been a fish 🐠." For an appointment to meet Moby, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found at satchelslastresort.org.

Story
PLEASE READ THE ANIMAL’S PROFILE AND ALL NOTES BELOW BEFORE APPLYING! **Hi… I’m Girlie Girl 🐾** I’m a 10-year-old Collie mix, and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s this: I just want to be *your* dog. I’m what they call a “Velcro dog.” That means wherever you go… I go too. Walking to the kitchen? I’ll be right there. Cooking dinner? I’d love a cozy bed nearby so I can watch you and smell all your delicious creations. Relaxing on the couch? I’ll be at your feet, looking up at you with my big eyes full of love. Working from home? Knitting me a sweater? Having a quiet cocktail hour? Perfect. I’ll just be here, keeping you company. I don’t know how to jump on the couch (no one ever taught me), but that’s okay — I’m happiest laying close by, getting head scratches and being near my person. I check in on you around the house just to make sure you’re still there. You are very important to me. I’m sweet, loyal, a little shy at first, and sometimes a bit nervous while I’m still learning how this whole “safe forever home” thing works. I handle loud noises well, but I’m still figuring out that when the leash comes out, it doesn’t mean I’m going somewhere scary. I’m learning that I’m safe now. I’m crate trained, house trained, and I’m working really hard on potty routines. If you take me out consistently, I catch on fast! I’m also practicing “come” and “sit.” Treats are a new concept for me, but I’m starting to understand they’re pretty great. I get along well with other dogs — big or small — and I’d really love a dog sibling to help show me the ropes. I’m respectful of older cats, too. Kids over 10 are okay, but I may run off if they approach too quickly. I do best with calm energy. Sometimes I drink water like I’ve just crossed a desert. I’m not sure why — maybe I didn’t always have enough before. My foster is helping me slow down, and I’m doing better every day. I’m eating well, I’ve started doing little happy jumps, and I’m even discovering how fun it is to run. I think my playful side is just beginning to bloom. My dream home is quiet and cozy. Maybe with an older couple, a single person, someone who works from home, or someone retired. I seem to feel especially safe with women — maybe it’s the softer voice. I don’t need a huge yard, but I would love a backyard to explore a little before coming back inside (because let’s be honest, I’d rather be wherever you are). What do I need most? • A dog sibling • A calm home with adults or kids 10+ • A yard to stretch my legs More than anything, I need someone patient. Someone who will show me that this is my home, that I’m staying, and that I can finally relax. Teach me how to chill. Remind me I’m safe. Let me follow you around and love you with my whole heart. I might love water a little too much… But I promise I will love you even more. 💛 Adoption FEE: $150 which includes her spay, microchip, and vaccines. It is also a donation to go directly back to us to help us continue to rescue more animals. Story
Meet Chloe! Chloe is a senior girl with a whole lot of heart and a very classic “old lady” vibe. She can be incredibly sweet and friendly, especially with people she trusts, and she still enjoys attention and gentle affection. That said, Chloe is a senior, and she has her moments—she likes things on her terms, appreciates her space, and isn’t afraid to let you know when she’s had enough. She’s not looking for chaos or constant activity; she’d much prefer a calm, predictable home where she can relax and be appreciated for who she is. Chloe would do best with someone who understands seniors and respects boundaries—someone who sees the beauty in a dog who’s lived a full life and just wants peace, comfort, and a little love.

Story
Bobo is a 2 and a half-year-old neutered male weighing 36.5 lbs who is heartworm negative and described as push-and-pull social in playgroup. He is friendly, curious, and affectionate with both staff and volunteers, greeting people at the kennel with a loose, relaxed body and wagging tail. Bobo is generally easy to leash, walks calmly to play areas, and remains composed around other dogs, even when they are barking. In the yard, he enjoys exploring, playing with toys, and engaging with handlers, frequently soliciting pets and leaning into affection. He is comfortable being handled, sits for treats, and happily interacts with people, often nudging or licking to continue receiving attention. Bo demonstrates a strong bond with humans, often jumping onto laps or leaning heavily into petting, yet he is capable of independent exploration and quickly returns to handlers when called. He shows appropriate manners both in playgroup and during walks, is easy to return to his kennel, and tolerates leash adjustments without issue. Overall, Bobo is a social, loving, and relaxed dog who thrives on human interaction and would make a wonderful companion for an active household that can provide attention, play, and affection. Foster Notes: Bo has been in my home for the last couple months and is doing quite well. He just needs time and patience and any new pup would. He gets on well with his fur mates and my 15 yo son loves him. He is kind to anyone coming to visit. No is reactive by barking once he leaves the home and placed on leash. He’s curious with keen sense of hearing. He was surrendered initially for a bite that the shelter assessed him for and found no future or immediate concern. He was living on the streets and I can only imagine what that does to a pup. He’s more relaxed now being in a home. Bo is house trained and sleeps some nights in the crate and some nights in bed with his fosters. He is starting training soon. I don’t recommend with small children since his herding tendencies are to nip.

Story
Meet Bret! Bret is a 1-year old male Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix who weighs 30.7 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. He is currently located in Spring Hill. Bret is a lovely, affectionate boy with tons of energy and enthusiasm for life. He absolutely loves to run and play, and he’ll happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. With his intelligence and drive, he would make a fantastic sports prospect or thrive with an active family that enjoys hiking, running, water activities, or other outdoor adventures. He does well with other dogs and would benefit from having another active canine companion to help burn off his energy. He is not a good fit for cats because he plays rough with them. His experience with small children is unknown. Bret is crate trained and leash trained (He is learning Heel, and how to ignore distractions on a leash). He is working on house training. If you’re looking for a fun, athletic, and affectionate companion to share your adventures, Bret may be the perfect match! Bret will be starting puppy school to learn basic commands soon, stay tuned! Story
Heaven 4 years and 7 months old good with other dogs, housebroken, crate-trained. Heaven was surrendered by family members after her owner got sick. Heaven is hw negative and SHE IS DEAF. Deaf dogs are awesome and easily trained. We would prefer someone who is heeler savvy and has some experience with deaf dogs or someone who can self initiate learning about life with deafies. They are the best!!! 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁, 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝘂𝗽 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆. 🙏 ❤️ Heaven is looking for a hero to save her from the Alabama shelter she ended up in no fault of her own. Her owner got sick and could no longer care for dogs so family members took the dogs in the house to the shelter. We will transport her to Florida ♡ Heaven is just the sweetest! She is pure joy and love. She is a double merel heeler who is deaf, but it barely affects her. She absolutely loves to play! When she’s done, she is just a big lap dog and cuddle bug. Heaven gives the BEST kisses! She has the typical goofy and lovable heeler personality. Her fur is so soft, like velvet. She’s very alert and easy to call back inside when out, because her eyes and nose work overtime to make up for her loss of hearing. Heaven is such an amazing dog. Her eyes stay focused on you and will obey hand signals. If you’re looking for a super fun loving dog that wants all the love and affection, she’s your girl!! Can you foster Heaven?? Or better yet adopt this sweet girl?? If you are unable can you please share her info in hopes she will be rescued?? ❤️ 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗡𝗼𝘄. ✏️ https://www.ewenityfarmsbch.com/
