Penny is a dog that needs someone who can set boundaries in a positive firm consistent manner. Typical of herders, she will try to control if she senses you are not in charge. She knows commands, she is motion activated as are most herders. We are working with that and she can be reactive with other dogs, thus the need for a dog savvy handler. She would do best in a home with one other dog or no other dogs for those less experienced. Fenced yard is a must, as is a knowledgeable border collie person . He enjoys his walks with volunteers, followed by a nice cool down in the kiddie pool while he waits at the gate for his turn to return to his kennel. Meet Bret! Bret is a 1-year old male Australian Cattle Dog/Rat Terrier mix who weighs 30.7 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. He is currently located in Spring Hill. Bret is a lovely, affectionate boy with tons of energy and enthusiasm for life. He absolutely loves to run and play, and he’ll happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. With his intelligence and drive, he would make a fantastic sports prospect or thrive with an active family that enjoys hiking, running, water activities, or other outdoor adventures. He does well with other dogs and would benefit from having another active canine companion to help burn off his energy. He is not a good fit for cats because he plays rough with them. His experience with small children is unknown. Bret is crate trained and leash trained. He heels well on a leash when given reminders. Bret also knows how to "auto-sit" when you stop walking.
