Story
Meet and love (that's an order, and you'll thank me for it!) Bobo - who will absolutely learn a new name if it's said with love. /// Bobo wants to say this about herself: "Hi! *wriggle wriggle* I'm SO HAPPY *wriggle wriggle* to MEET YOU!!! *wriggle wriggle wriggle wriggle*" /// Ok, she's a little speechless while she's wriggling. This younger (about a year and a half) border collie is a charming, happy, and playful girl. She makes friends by getting them to chase her in a vigorous game of tag. At the vet's office, the techs found her charming and sweet. She's basically house trained, learning about the delights of peanut butter, contemplating how leashes work, and eagerly comes when called. /// She does well with most dogs, although some seem to take offense to her very enthusiastic behavior. (She still is leaning about personal boundaries and some dogs don't like their boundaries invaded that much.) /// Her energy level is on the high side, but she actually can settle down after getting to run around a while. /// When she's not running laps (a really good agility candidate), she will entertain you with her antics, from finding random items to play with, to climbing in your lap, to chasing- and catching- her tail! /// She really wants a playmate or two, one that can handle her antics with humor. /// Don't you have room enough on your lap and in your heart for her? 💕💕 /// And she is house trained, crate trained, and learning about not using the leash to trip her human. Her former owners said she was good with cats and children, but was too energetic. Her energy levels would probably be too much for little children without a lot of pre-training. She would probably freak a cat out with her chaotic energy.

Story
This handsome boy is 3-year-old Moby and he's waiting for you at Satchel's! Moby can be a little shy of strangers but warms up quickly. He enjoys his walks with volunteers, followed by a nice cool down in the kiddie pool while he waits at the gate for his turn to return to his kennel. Moby is full of energy and is currently working with a trainer to learn basic understanding of what is acceptable behavior. Note from a volunteer: "Moby is a darling and very smart. He’s a “back scratch” grass loving boy who prefers water over land any day. He should’ve been a fish 🐠." For an appointment to meet Moby, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found at satchelslastresort.org.

Story
Bowie is a very sweet boy. Born 02-12-2020. Just over 60 lbs. He is hyper so definitely needs a lot of exercise but also loves cuddles. He overall is friendly but can get anxious and bark at people/animals he does not know. He warms up pretty quickly though! He has been this way since a puppy. We have a one year old and even though he has mostly been kind to her, he has growled and does not respect her boundaries when it comes to her food/toys. We already have a 9 year old Australian Shepherd (that cannot keep up with him) and we feel like Bowie will thrive better with an owner that can give him more freedom and attention. He is a full blood Blue Merle Australian Shepherd from Colorado. He is all up to date on shots, neutered and no known health issues. We are most focused on him being placed with a good family. We are willing to hang onto him for as long as possible till that happens too.

Story
Rosco is a 13-year-old Blue Heeler, 46 lbs, neutered, and heartworm negative. He came to PRC after his owner passed away and the next of kin could not keep him. Rosco was adopted quickly but sadly returned when it was discovered he had a strong prey drive toward one of the cats in the home. Rosco is house trained, walks beautifully on leash without pulling, and enjoys car rides. He is social and curious with new people, greeting with a calm, loose body posture. He does wonderfully with people of all ages, including young children, and is comfortable around wheelchairs, walkers, and canes. He’s especially fond of older men and gets visibly excited when he meets them. He has lived peacefully with other dogs and is described as gentle, dainty, and tolerant in playgroup. At the shelter, Rosco is easy to leash and handle. On walks, he’ll let you know when he’s tired and may stop to take a break—he’s a senior who listens to his body. Rosco’s favorite things are food, rolling in the grass, and his stuffed animals. He doesn’t destroy his toys—he carries them around, grooms them, suckles them, and treats them like prized possessions. Medically, Rosco has severe dental disease (including a broken tooth and mobile incisors), age-related eye changes (cataract in the left eye and possible early cataract or nuclear sclerosis in the right), and came in overweight (BCS 9/9), though he has already lost some weight in care. Rosco is a sweet, loving senior who is looking for a calm home—ideally without cats he may fixate on—where he can enjoy comfort, routine, and companionship in his golden years. Please let us know if you can help.
