Story
A FRIENDLY & ENERGETIC FRIEND:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 44 lbs.  Hi there, I’m Phyllis!  I was rescued from animal control as a puppy along with my siblings and adopted for about 6 months, but my family realized that I was a bit too much for the small older dog and young kids in the home, so I’m back with Mostly Mutts looking for a great fit!  I got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program where I had a great time and learned a lot, too!    • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I loved my siblings and enjoyed playing with the dogs I met in the prison/foster training program.  I have lots of energy, so if you have a younger, playful dog at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be friends. / I haven’t met kitties yet, so let’s meet. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and did well with them.  I like kids and think that 10 years old and up could be a good fit for me, since I was a bit too much for the young kids in my former home. So, if you have kids around 10 years old, let’s meet!   • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as a silly, fun, sweet, energetic, and friendly pup who is happy to spend time with the nice volunteers that come to visit and care for me. I enjoyed playing in the water during my bath, so maybe I’ll like water play such as streams, lakes, or boat rides.  Time will tell.  I’m reported to be able to jump a fence, so please watch me in the yard if you have a fence until you know I won’t do that, as I don’t want to get lost or hurt.  My temp. foster mom said I could chase a squeaky toy all day, but I’m that also great at self-entertaining.  My temp. foster mom described me as a “super sweet and happy girl who is full of energy and loves to explore!”  / My energy level is 6 – 8, so I’d like some regular/consistent exercise.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  / My crate manners have been good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been good on the prison/foster training program schedule, but I have some dribbles at times so we are trying to figure this out.  I am trying a new medication now.  Please ask about that. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love people, stuffed toys (especially the squeaky type), Nylabones, playing, running a bit, fetching and food!  I use a slow feeder bowl at Mostly Mutts because I tend to eat fast, and this helps slow me down. / I’m a little fearful of getting into the car, but after I’m lifted in, I’m fine.  I also hid under the bed during a thunderstorm.  I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I’m current on immunizations, microchipped and spayed.  I’m taking Proin right now and it seems to be helping with my occasional urine dribbles.  Please ask about that. If you’re looking for a friendly young dog and will be active with me and continue my training, we could be a great match!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    September 26, 2023, 6:27 am

Story
Say hello to the very sweet Ella. Ella arrived at the shelter on 09/07 along with her best friend Penelope through no fault of her own. When she and Penelope were dropped off the owner said her human child had become allergic. Penelope has now been adopted. Ella is a bit confused right now but hopefully will adjust quickly. Ella is said to be house trained, good with kids and other dogs. Unknown about cats. Ella is 6 years old and weighs in at 77 pounds. She could stand to lose a little weight but we do not want to tell her that. She sits and lays down when asked. Ella is current on vaccines, spayed and micro-chipped. She will be tested for heat worms upon adoption. You will find both girls waiting in run 107. Ella's ID# is 649033. Penelope's ID# is 649032. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays. The shelter prefers people to make an appointment, go to - https://nqa3.nemoqappointment.com/Booking/Booking/Index/as65fg9dr953 and select Adoption. You can also show up between 10:30 & 4:00 Tues. thru Sun. (shelter closes at 4:30), you might have to wait a few minutes until someone can help you. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip. When you book an appointment, it doesn't reserve a particular pet for you. Thank you for considering a Cobb pet!
