I got pepper when I was in my twenty’s living on my own thinking I would never settle down. Pepper went everywhere and did everything with me. Fast forward six years I’m married with two small kids and she is not adjusting and handling all the new additions. She is a 6 year old border collie blue heeler mix. She can be feisty. We have had issues with her snapping at our kids. She’s great with bigger kids and adults. She does love people but she has gotten to where she doesn’t like toddlers and babies. She gets along with dogs it just takes her a few days to adjust. She’s a great dog. She’s is potty trained. Crate trained. We don’t lock her up. She free roams the house. She is super smart and loves to chase a tennis ball. She is very well behaved in public. I just want her to be able to have the life she had where she was the center of someone’s world.

Nelly - 23738 - Kennel 834 - Arrived October 30, 2026, as a stray - Border Collie/Labrador Retriever mix - black and white - female - 11 months old - 47.5625 lbs (estimated adult weight 50-58 lbs) - Will be spayed prior to adoption - Up to date on vaccines - Heartworm negative Nelly is such a cute puppy, with a shaggy black coat, a cream beard and eyebrows, a cream chest, and long, soft ears that fold just so. Her dark, gentle eyes and slightly scruffy look give her a face you want to scratch behind the ears right away. Nelly arrived at Cobb Animal Services as a stray on October 30, 2026. We don’t know where she came from, but we know she is 11 months old and 47.5625 pounds, still a young girl with her whole life ahead of her. Based on her size and build, we estimate she’ll fill out to around 50 to 58 pounds, and the person who adopts her will be there for the rest of her growing up. Nelly is very calm and polite, and she sits nicely for a treat. The noise of the shelter is a lot for her to take in, and she is still settling in. A quiet, steady home is often all a gentle girl like Nelly needs to show you who she is, and a little patience is usually rewarded with a devoted friend. Nelly is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and will be spayed before she goes home. A kennel isn’t where a sweet, polite young girl like Nelly belongs. She is ready for a soft bed, a kind voice, and a person who is glad to have her. Come meet Nelly in kennel 834. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. Sadie was adopted from a family out of Douglasville that had two litters of pups at the same time.Her father is a blue Heeler. Her mom is a border collie, chocolate lab mix. She was the runt of her litter. Her new home needs somebody that’s experienced with anxiety separation, and has good training handling skills. I’ve spent a lot of time training her. Sadie is a very girly girl, tomboy. She’s really sweet loves cuddles. She kind of is interested in toys. Is definitely obsessed with the water hose or sprinkler. She can be a little picky when it comes to food. Sadie is not a fan of chicken flavored kibble. She’s good around chickens, she does enjoy herding. She really loves our chase lure line. I do feel like her next owner will need to take some time for her to adjust and get used to you. I don’t know if we can plan a couple of visits ahead of adoption in order to get her use to the new owner. Her separation anxiety is severe. She is not confident on walks barking dogs make her panic.
