Meet handsome Dakota! He was surrendered to the shelter on 10/29 because he was being destructive and someone in the family wasn't being very kind to him. It was noted that Dakota is dog-friendly, but he needs work on his house-training skills. The volunteers describe Dakota as very energetic and athletic. He is a herding dog breed who will do best in a family who can keep him physically and mentally stimulated. A destructive dog is often a bored dog with no structure. Crate training and lots of activity will do wonders for Dakota. He will sit briefly when asked, and is very jumpy when excited. He'll need someone patient and kind to work with him on basic manners. If you can meet Dakota's needs, please come meet him! With a little refinement, he'll make a wonderful BFF!! Dakota is approximately 10 months old, and weighs 51 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and did test negative for heartworms. He will be neutered and microchipped upon adoption. Dakota is waiting in run 809; his ID # is 14720. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Im still learning how to be a dog and trust people&#44 but underneath my cautious side is a heart thats so ready to love. Once I feel safe&#44 youll see how sweet and affectionate I can be!<br/><br/>Im most confident when I have another dog buddy around. They help me learn and remind me that the world isnt such a scary place. Id do best with a patient family who understands that I just need a little time to settle in. This is Spunky, I took her in from a friend who needed to find a new home for her, her original owner could no longer care for her, I’ve had her for a few months now but she is about 2 years old now. She didn’t have any shots or papers when I took her in, not spayed. She’s had some inside training with me but is more suited to being outside. Been very happy and friendly with me and my younger dogs but not so much with my older dogs, not sure how she feels about cats. You got to meet her to know her. I only ask for $20 because of the listing fee, I have collar and leash for her and other affects if you are interested in this adorable girl.

Boy was part of a large litter in which we rehomed all but him and a girl dog; hense his name. He’s a sweet dog but him and his dad, larger German shepherd, do not always get along so rather than having to keep him separated, I’d like to find a good home for him. He is fine with his sister and mother (blue heeler mix). Looking for a loving home where he can get more attention.
