Story
These 3 beautiful girls were part of a hoarding case during our quarantine. The 2 black lab ladies were kept on the back porch, and based on their behavior and the condition of the porch, they’ve likely never been off that porch until now. The door to the porch was wide open for days and they were barely brave enough to poke their heads out. Our officers had to climb into the porch and carry them to the truck. The border collie mix las was in a pen off to the side of the property. She also didn’t know what to do when we let her out of the pen. All three girls, despite their living conditions, are the SWEETEST girls you’ll ever meet. They love to get pets and get so excited when we come up to their kennels. The collie mix was placed on a diet when she came in and will need to continue that for a while. The labs have some sort of skin condition that will need further care at a vet, but is likely due to prolonged fecal and urine exposure. Now, I want to start off this portion of the description by saying hoarding is a mental health disorder. Usually, hoarding is caused by an underlying mental health disorder or some type of trauma and requires professional mental health intervention. The owner involved in this case had good intentions, but terrible execution and couldn’t take care of herself, let alone her animals. This home is not livable for any creature. Let alone a human, 3 dogs, and at one point 40+ cats. All of this could have been avoided if help was sought after. Some people with hoarding disorder may not seek help because they're embarrassed about their behavior. However, if you think you or a loved one might have a hoarding disorder, you can consult a mental health professional.

Story
Morgan is a 1 year old, 30 lb mixed breed cutie. She came to us from animal control on the day she was supposed to be euthanized. She is a shy girl but oh so sweet. Morgan is very food motivated and follows her foster mom around the house. Food has really helped her bond and trust. She does well with both cats and dogs, and she really looks to other dogs for guidance. She has been with dogs, small to large and does well with all of them. She also loves to play with other dogs. She is truly a great sized, sweet girl. Due to Morgan's past, the trainer we worked with believes she would do best in a quiet home with a few other dogs and no children. She does best in a structured environment because it makes her feel most secure. To adopt this sweet girl, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org Her adoption fee is $150, which includes her shots up-to-date, microchipping, spay, and heartworm testing.

Story
I found Fido tied up and abandoned at a park near my home in Atlanta. Because I have small children, a small house and an older dog already, it does not make sense for me to adopt him long-term. However, I am holding onto him in lieu of surrendering him to the country shelter, as these facilities are very overcrowded. I am working to get him housebroken, and he has now shown any aggression toward me, my children or my other dog. He is very sweet and energetic and playful, as you might expect from a puppy.

Story
Meet “Nella” - a brand new member of the RMG family. “Nella” is an Italian name meaning highly praiseworthy, luminous, radiant and TRULY this describes her perfectly. She was found tied to a dumpster behind a restaurant outside a few hours outside of Atlanta - there was even some talk around of her brother possibly having been shot - so people must have known more about her after animal control picked her up.   Lena or LenaBean as her foster parents fondly call her, is truly the most tender hearted, affectionate, sweet natured energizer bunny ever! In the house Lena is a couch potato and LOVES to be with her human and dog family. Outside, Lena turns into a lightening speed, chipmunk hunter and cross country triathlete. She runs top speed through the fenced in yard with her foster brother chasing squirrels and chipmunks and just showing off her general love for life. Lena is definitely a high energy dog that would need a family that has a completely fenced in yard and experience with breeds that are very intelligent and require a lot of exercise. Lena absolutely has an off switch, which is great, and she also has the eager to please nature so common with Border Collies. Her previous life before coming into RMG’s family has left her with some quirks which her new family should be aware of. She has a tremendous fear of loud noises and definitely needs some human support and comfort when lawn mowers, weed wackers and such are going. All in all, she is a very special girl that has the sweetest heart and deserves a family that will play with, love and protect her. Interested in adopting? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org PLEASE NOTE: Previous first hand ownership experience with either purebred border collies or Australian Shepherds is a strict requirement to adopt Lena ##2046459##

Story
Piper was a dog found on the side of the road. She had runaway from her previous owner and when I found the owner they gave me the dog. Piper has been with me for about 2 years. She has been such a sweet girl and gets along well with other dogs. However, she does not get along with our cat. She is so sweet and loves to cuddle and get attention. I'm just not home a lot and I feel bad leaving her all the time. She's not trained but is smart and could easily learn. She is also not fixed because I didn't realize it and I can't afford to pay for the surgery. She would make a great addition to a family or single person.
