Story
I got pepper when I was in my twenty’s living on my own thinking I would never settle down. Pepper went everywhere and did everything with me. Fast forward six years I’m married with two small kids and she is not adjusting and handling all the new additions. She is a 6 year old border collie blue heeler mix. She can be feisty. We have had issues with her snapping at our kids. She’s great with bigger kids and adults. She does love people but she has gotten to where she doesn’t like toddlers and babies. She gets along with dogs it just takes her a few days to adjust. She’s a great dog. She’s is potty trained. Crate trained. We don’t lock her up. She free roams the house. She is super smart and loves to chase a tennis ball. She is very well behaved in public. I just want her to be able to have the life she had where she was the center of someone’s world.

Checkers - 23656 - Kennel 317 - Arrived October 25, 2026, as a stray - Border Collie/Spaniel mix - black and white - male - 9 months old - 18 lbs (estimated adult weight 20-25 lbs) - Will be neutered prior to adoption - Up to date on vaccines - Heartworm negative Checkers is simply darling, and no other word fits quite as well. He has a soft, silky black coat, a white blaze down his face, a white chest and paws, and warm brown eyes that light up when he smiles. With his fluffy tail and long, feathery ears, he looks like a precious baby who has just been waiting for someone to say hello. Checkers arrived at Cobb Animal Services as a stray on October 25, 2026. We don’t know where he came from, but we know he is only 9 months old and 18 pounds, with his whole life ahead of him. Based on his size and build, we estimate he’ll grow to around 20 to 25 pounds, and the person who adopts him will be there for the rest of his growing up. Checkers is playful and loves tennis balls, so he is ready for games of fetch and backyard zoomies. He is also good with children. A puppy who loves to play and gets along with kids is a joy to bring home, and Checkers has so much happiness to share. Checkers is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and will be neutered before he goes home. Whoever takes him home is going to be very lucky, because a sweet, silky little boy like this comes along rarely. Come meet Checkers in kennel 317. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. Miss P is a beautiful senior Border Collie/Lab mix who has been waiting far too long for her forever person or family to find her! Born, we believe, in 2016 and weighing about 50 lbs, Miss P is an incredibly sweet, people-friendly girl who loves being around her humans. She would absolutely love to have a family of her own to spend time with and share all the little moments of everyday life. This beautiful girl is also very dog friendly and loves to play and run with other dogs! She has never met a dog she didn't like and would enjoy having a canine companion in her forever home. Miss P is very food motivated and takes treats gently. She's crate trained, house trained, and knows her basic commands. She also loves chewing on her Nyla bones! Miss P would love a forever home with another friendly dog and a fenced yard where she can safely enjoy some outdoor time. Most of all, she wants what every dog deserves--a family to love and a family who will love her back. This wonderful girl is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped.
