We need to rehome Dash due to allergies. Dash is 3nds, loves to cuddle and be next to his people. He is leash trained but still pulls a little. He is taking to training extremely well for the short time we have had him. He can sit and learning to stay. He is very gentle. He can jump up on you after time apart but does listen when told, he will also not jump if you just give him some attention. He is not very vocal. Loves his walks and working on fetch. He would do best with a fenced in yard. He does not have an essesive energy level and will sit and just relax with you. He does like to be brushed which works for this breed. He is house trained, he will hold it and iteasy to see when he needs to do out. We are working on training him to go to the door to be let out. Would suggest bells. Dont think this will take much at all. Again hes a great dog but unfortunately Ive never had this breed and found put the hard way about allergies.

What we can say already is that this girl walked in and immediately made herself a team favorite. Recently rescued from Cobb County Animal Shelter, Penelope (formerly Gigi) has been nothing short of a gem in her foster home. She’s gentle, calm, and smart, and she already knows how to sit. Her foster says she’s basically flawless — and so far, we’re not arguing. Penelope is: • Crate trained – quiet, relaxed, and goes in willingly. • Excellent on leash – no pulling, no reactivity, calmly minds her business when dogs pass. • Potty trained – zero accidents, and she seems most comfortable going off-leash in a yard. • Independent but affectionate – loves toys, keeps herself busy, and is happy to entertain herself. Penelope is the kind of dog who settles in quickly, watches the world with soft eyes, and quietly wins your heart. She’s loving, loyal, and ready for the kind of life every dog deserves. We’ll keep updating this description as we learn more about her, but if this early impression tells us anything, it’s that Penelope is going to make someone very, very lucky.

Meet handsome Dakota! He was surrendered to the shelter on 10/29 because he was being destructive and someone in the family wasn't being very kind to him. It was noted that Dakota is dog-friendly, but he needs work on his house-training skills. The volunteers describe Dakota as very energetic and athletic. He is a herding dog breed who will do best in a family who can keep him physically and mentally stimulated. A destructive dog is often a bored dog with no structure. Crate training and lots of activity will do wonders for Dakota. He will sit briefly when asked, and is very jumpy when excited. He'll need someone patient and kind to work with him on basic manners. If you can meet Dakota's needs, please come meet him! With a little refinement, he'll make a wonderful BFF!! Dakota is approximately 10 months old, and weighs 51 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and did test negative for heartworms. He will be neutered and microchipped upon adoption. Dakota is waiting in run 809; his ID # is 14720. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained.
