Story
SWEET, FUN & ADORABLE:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 35 lbs. Hi, my name is Duchess!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I have been spending time in a great foster home!  I am enjoying my time here, and they love me, so that sounds like a good preview of the great home that awaits me!  My future family and I – making each other happy!  I’m now available for adoption, so plan to meet me soon!  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I like the other dog in my foster home, and we play and sleep together – so cute.  I also met dogs at Mostly Mutts before going to my foster home and did alright with them, too - I was interested though not quite ready to play at that time.  So, if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / I met the kitty in my foster home and ran after him, so we haven’t met again.  I’m likely best not cats. / I really enjoy the 6-, 8- and 15-year-old kids in my foster home!  I am a bit playfully mouthy sometimes, so best no toddlers that I may be too much for.  Giving me a toy helps with my playful mouthiness. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a very sweet girl who loves being around my people and being part of the family.  I’m calm and easygoing for the most part, but I do have a playful, energetic side that comes out when I’m ready for some fun. My foster says I’m just an all-around sweet girl who would make a wonderful family companion. / Energy level: 4-6.     • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  While I was at the MM shelter, I showed that I knew the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, and ‘leave it’ commands.  Let’s continue my training with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / I don’t like spending much time in a crate, so I’ll cry a little when I’m in it, though I do settle.  At nighttime, I sleep on a dog bed in my fosters’ room or in bed with them. / I’m having some accidents in my foster home, so they are working with me on this now.  Hopefully there will be good improvements, just ask how it’s coming along.  They do crate me when they need to leave the home to help with this as well.      • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy car rides and am happy to join my family on adventures!  Playing with the other dog and kids in my foster home is fun as well as chasing toys and balls, going for walks, and staying active with my people. I’m also a big fan of being petted, cuddling and soaking up attention.  After my spa bath time, I had a blast rolling around on my towel and bed. / I’m not a big fan of the crate, and if you leave a room and close the door behind you, I may whimper a little because I enjoy being near my people.  And like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.  • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m a wonderful young dog looking for a wonderful family to have fun with and be loved furever!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 21, 2026, 6:47 am

Story
Pluto - ID# 20028 - Kennel #829 - Arrived June 16th - Siberian Husky/Border Collie Mix - Dark Grey and White - Male - 9 Months Old - 35 lbs - Estimated Adult Weight 45-55 lbs - Will Be Neutered Prior to Adoption - Up to Date on Vaccines - Heartworm Negative Pluto is a nine-month-old dark grey and white Siberian Husky/Border Collie mix with striking pale blue eyes, a soft and fluffy coat, and a face so beautiful it genuinely stops people in their tracks. He arrived at Cobb Animal Services on June 16th when his former owners' living situation changed after only three months together, and this sweet, gorgeous boy is now waiting for a home that will truly be his - one he gets to keep. At 35 lbs and still growing, he is estimated to reach 45 to 55 lbs as an adult - a beautiful, athletic boy with so much wonderful dog still to come. What makes Pluto truly remarkable is not just how stunning he is - it is how much he already knows. At just nine months old he responds to sit, down, and stay using both voice commands and hand signals, which is extraordinary for a puppy his age and speaks to just how intelligent and eager to please he truly is. He is house trained, dog friendly, good with children, and has been described as super sweet - everything a family could hope for in a young dog. Pluto carries the intelligence of a Border Collie and the striking beauty of a Siberian Husky in equal measure - pale blue eyes, a dark grey coat, and a soft, fluffy presence that makes him look like something out of a dream. He is the kind of dog people turn around to look at twice, and then a third time just to be sure. Pluto is beautiful, brilliant, and ready for a home that will stick by him the way he will stick by them - completely and without question. He is waiting in Kennel #829 with those extraordinary blue eyes and that gorgeous grey coat, ready to give his whole heart to whoever is wise enough to choose him. Come meet him - he is every bit as wonderful as he looks. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
AN ACTIVE & FUN FELLOW:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 33 lbs. Hello – I’m Cody!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’ve been soaking up the love ever since!  As much as I love the great volunteers, I am ready to meet my new family and start my ‘happily ever after’ with them!  I was adopted for 2 months, and though my family loved me a lot, I just needed more stimulation and exercise than they could provide, so I’m back with Mostly Mutts looking for the right fit.  I was selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was friendly with them.  I also played nicely with a 3-year-old larger dog in a temporary foster home, with just a few playfully mouthy moments (common for my breed mix).  I can also play alongside with a toy in my mouth, so if you have a nice doggie at home already who sounds like a match for my play style, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  In my temporary adoptive home, I got to go to doggie day care at times and enjoyed that! / Cats unknown. / I liked the kids I met with my temp. adoptive home, though I don’t recall their ages, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over, as I am pretty strong and active. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a busy guy with a friendly demeanor.  In fact, I’ve heard the volunteers describe me as ‘a strong and lovable guy with a sweet nature’.  I’ll either charm you with my handsome good looks or delight you with my contagious playfulness!  Though I’m quite energetic, I did calm down for my shelter bath and the great rubs and pets that came with that.  I have been a bit playfully mouthy and wiggly during leashing at the shelter and leave my kennel raring to go, so be ready for my enthusiasm, right out of the gate.  I’m just so happy to be out and about with the volunteers!  They say that I do the most adorable head tilts when I hear certain sounds, like whistling – so cute!  I was a good home office dog in a temp. foster home, relaxing in a dog bed while my person worked.  I did a little counter surfing, but this is trainable.  Affectionate and fun, I’m ready to bring lots of fun and adventure to my new home! / My energy level is 6-8 so I’ll want my family to be active with me! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I look forward to learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘down’, and ‘drop it’ commands as well as how to utilize proper door etiquette.  Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, though I don’t want to spend a lot of time in my crate.  I didn’t want to be crated at night in my temp. foster, but maybe I won’t need a crate in my new home. / My former adoptive family reported that I did well with my potty manners while with them, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home.  • LIKES/DISLIKES: I LOVE being petted and will happily spend time hanging out with a volunteer on the front bench after my walks – collecting all the tummy scratches / rubs you wish to give!  I’m also quite treat motivated, so have those handy when you want my undivided attention.  I went on a sunset hike with a volunteer, enjoying the exercise and happily rewarding them with plenty of kisses along the way.  I enjoy a soft dog bed and relaxing on the couch with my people!  Toys get my attention as well, so let’s PLAY! / Other than not wanting to be in a crate too much, I can’t think of any real dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a wonderful home with a family that will be active and have fun with me!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 21, 2026, 6:47 am
