I deserved so much better, and I am here to say, "SIEZE THE DAY!!!" Because you just don't know if it is your BEST day ever, UNTIL you SIEZE it and DON'T LET GO!!! And seriously, here I am!! I’m off to college, but I’ll be graduating on November 14 and ready for my new home then. I must explain. I was chosen to be a part of the DARR Center Department of Ag Companion Animal Program this semester at MSU in Springfield, MO. You see, I really have gone to college. And, I’m one lucky dog! The students are working with me and 5 of my friends on basic commands and behaviors. I’ll be all polished up and ready for a new family when I’m finished here. If you’d like to meet me in the meantime, we can set up a virtual appointment – otherwise, I’ll be at my graduation ceremony/adoption event on Friday, November 14 just waiting for my forever family to come along. Hi, I'm Gabi! I'm a Border Collie/Heeler/German Shepherd mix! I'm very sweet and affectionate and I am looking for a home that can keep up with me.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis, MO. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas.  All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2488927##

Oreo Cookies are da BEST cookies ever! And i are one of them :D So you now know all about me ;) Except the creamy center, which may explain why i am in a rescue looking for a furever home.. It isn't my fault ;( I mean, picture this..... there i was, minding my own business... and my mom and dad sit me down to tell me that they are getting a divorce :( And my mom, brother and I will be homeless soon :( :( what do you do??? I was lucky enough to find a rescue that was able to help me be safe and loved. (my mom and brother found a safe place too) So here i am at the rescue, just waiting to be discovered by my real forever family and I have some things to tell you about me.... I adopted Moxie about 3 months ago. The woman who had been fostering her told me that she was fine with other dogs, but she's not. All of my friends and family have dogs, and I can't take her when I visit, I can no longer dog sit for them, etc. Unfortunately, this is too big of an issue for all of us; thus, I need to find her a new home. Moxie is sweet, smart, and very protective of her human when it comes to other dogs. However, she is great with people -- a real charmer. In the short time she's been with me, I have taught her sit, shake (she's left handed), and kiss. She's very food motivated and will undoubtedly learn much more. I hope to find her a more suitable home.
